I found an app called Exe Icon Changer. Problem it its shareware, and it doesn't work too well since its a pain to use. But it does replace icons like its supposed to! http://softboy.net/exeico/index.htm Anybody know of any other program that can do this? I'm looking for a substitute. I tried Resource hacker... but it doesn't like uTorrent. This program does though.

I'm trying to modify my 7-zip file manager. Want to get rid of that ugly theme. How do I change it? I tried resource hacker, replaced a resource, but no change. Do I need to compile the executable? I don't know what I'm doing!!!

I do it all the time. Through trial and error I figured out which ones should never be disabled. The rest are fine. I tend to stick away from Remote Procedure Call and all its dependencies. Otherwise, you won't be able to use the computer. BTW, if done properly you can gain some extra ram and a bit of 'speediness' out of the system. The older the PC, the greater the difference.

Just make an nLited install. Do whatever. Burn it to a CDRW, test it. Because you don't want a coaster, and you'll probably screw up the first time. Everyone does. If it works, great. Tweak it and make a good one. If it doesn't, post about it and we'll help you out. Don't be asking anybody to hold your hand. Try it yourself. Then come back if there are issues and you can't figure it out.

Yeah. Or a nice quad core, quad SLi/Crossfire PC hooked up to a quality Sony/Panasonic Plasma screen (the new ones that have deeper blacks), and a good home theater system. 1200Watts. vs a laptop that burns your crotch making sure you are sterile in a few months. hmm... tough choice.

Isn't there some sort of 'video splitter' box? Where you set your windows resolution to something ridiculous like 6000x1050 and then the box sections it off for each monitor? I forget what its called. I saw a thread about one here. It was for 3 monitors though.

Crysis eh? Run it in XP with DX9, then look how to enable all the DX10 features.. like the water, the 'god' effect you can see sometimes in the clouds... etc. I think there might be a thread here on MSFN. I think its called Crysis no need vista or something with terrible grammar like that.

Yup. But so far its giving me issues. (not everything was 'energized'... like folders and explorer). I'll try another install, if that doesn't work, I'm posting the issues so they can be fixed before the final. That's awesome. Especiallly with my nLited installation. Now for 'Energize' does it override most or all of the old XP Style icons/themes with new ones? Like Vize does?

We're scared 'cause its beta. But anyway, I tried it out on a partition. So far it looks really nice. I am having some issues with it. I will go in depth with screens once I try to find all of them. In the meantime, it would be really nice to make an installer like XPero does. I'm looking for the 'modify ISO' setting to change boot files. Also, I have a question about this app. If I pick let's say the 'modify 7-zip' files option and I have no 7-zip installed, does it skip it? What about with things like Media Player and such. I'm running an nLited OS and I don't want garbage.

Yup. I'd like to use Vize though. I like how XPero 'fills in the gaps', and replaces the old obsolete icons and themes.

Can Vize be used for XP? I like your XPize app, but I think I'd like the vista-look to match all these new apps with the new GUIs. Can it be done, have you thought about it? I don't want to use the generic transformation pack. I like to have my system look congruent from top to bottom.

This is sweet. I like the new explorer interface, but not the bloat. Don't care if it looks like IE on the surface, what matters is that its Firefox at the core!

I'm using the mouse cursors by XsX, http://blog.tiensivu.com/aaron/archives/13...ckage-v1.0.html They work really nice, but I don't think they are transparent enough. How would I make them more transparent? Can I change pointer properties or do I edit the individual cursor files? BTW these are for XP/Vista and ones that are not alpha-blended for 98SE and previous versions.
