  1. So, will they tell you what they actually did, or not? Just saying "it worked" isn't helpful.

  5. First, the bad news (unfortunately, for you). ebay.com does not work for me in Mypal 68.14.0b, either. The buttons are inaccessible. The good news (fortunately, for me) is ebay.de is still working. All buttons are functional and accessible. Maybe, there is a preference which can be set in Mypal 68.14.0b. I don't know at the moment. I had a look into the web console, and there are JavaScript errors. Something must have been changed. I therefore think this can probably only fixed by @feodor2. The good news (for you) is that in New Moon 28, all is still working. Just tested. PS: BTW, this issue was already reported to the issues of Mypal 68 here: https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/issues/228#issuecomment-2080375184

  7. Well, you can always try this to make sure, then. Open regedit and go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM.There, create a DWORD key named CompositionPolicy and set its value to 2. Install the driver via computer manage. After the display driver installs, reboot or restart VDDM.

  8. +1 Have to disagree, XPx64 is in some ways the best of all worlds. It's been my actual daily driver for a long time now. Also, I can confirm the random crash on YouTube main page reported on GitHub on at least one of my machines (this machine is XP SP4 x86). All you have to do is go to the main page and "scroll down" for a while looking through what's available; sooner or later it will die. Haven't updated my XP x64 machine with the new build yet, but it's worth noting that several versions back I actually saw more crashes on the XP x86 machine than I did on the XP x64 machine. I don't remember them specifically now, they were fixed in a later build, but it was interesting that they did not happen under x64.

  9. In the case of https://www.tomsguide.com/, I have to agree with you. It really looks like a CSS issue. But in general, both, JavaScript and CSS, are the main causer for a breakage of websites. And one can't really say that one of the causers is more important than the other. At least, I do think so.

  11. There is an address bar at the top of the logger where you can choose an already opened tab from the browser. If you choose one which was opened before the logger was started, nothing can be shown then.

  12. @feodor2 What kind of P4 CPU did you use for testing? My Pentium 4 Northwood CPU is equipped with the SSE2 instruction set at maximum. What is yours? I'm asking you this for a clear reason. The P4 Prescott CPU, for example, was introduced in 2004, and it already has the SSE3 instruction set. Just an idea!

  13. Thanks for investigating this! Here are my hardware ans OS specifications: Windows XP Professional SP3 with all POSReady updates with an Intel Pentium Northwood 2.80 GHz CPU (single core, 32 Bit), 1.5 GB SD-RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 6200 graphic card. It is very strange that you and I often come to different results. The uBO logger does not work for you in single-process mode, but it does for me. On your P4 machine, you have no problems with loading the filter lists in multi-process mode, but I do. What's going on there? It's almost hard to believe. And where is the explanation? Something is not right at all.

  14. Actually this bug is present on Vista, too. It's not "XP-only", like someone there tried to imply. Therefore, you're in the wrong right repository, Dave, you can edit the post and include Vista so they get out of your hair. They have no respect to the famous moderator!

  19. Has anyone tried the new Thorium build for Windows XP? https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy/releases It's stable for me (unlike Supermium)... Looks like it's time to ditch 360 Chrome, finally.

  20. You will always find the latest version of New Moon 28 in this thread: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1264369 The link points to the latest post with the most recent version. In general, you can find all releases from @roytam1 on his server: https://o.rthost.win/

  21. I really don't pay any attention to what is in browsers and not like some of you guys, so I have no idea what is in Iron vs Chrome. What I can say is that the issue with posting or editing a post that contains links is a different issue but still related to this string issue, that thread is here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185994-cant-edit-my-first-post-in-thread-error-when-posting-links/ I have noticed that the link preview issue is not 100% the fault of the site or the post editor, as it doesn't happen 100% of the time and not with all browsers. But I feel that issues with this site will always happen as IPB being a modern company is keeping up with the times in terms of browser tech, and the users of this forum are generally not.

  24. Process Tamer helps but Supermium is still a NIGHTMARE on my system! An absolute and utter NIGHTMARE! I open a web page and have to wait 24 to 43 seconds before the scroll wheel will scroll the page. Then when it does scroll, I have to wait 7 to 18 seconds for the scrolled-into portion of the page to be displayed. An absolute and utter NIGHTMARE. Yes!!! This test was in a VirtualBox VM of XP SP3 with 3GB RAM - I refuse to attempt Supermium on my host until the next release!

  26. The taming of mypal.exe (force low) using process tamer' configuration (https://www.donationcoder.com/software/mouser/popular-apps/process-tamer -I have somehow version 2.14.01, the site reports 2.11.01, go figure) allows me to run now more than 5-10 pages without crashing tabs or browser -note that . See my conf in attached image. Cheers! PS: I think I reported this for sp52 some years ago.

  27. Wow ... https://www.tomsguide.com: Looks 'all over the place' with Mypal68 as well.

  28. https://www.tomsguide.com/ looks to me like that stupid link rel="preload" issue we also see at Micro$oft's Web pages. Proxomitron and/or Modify HTTP Response might be able to fix it. Someday I'll find the person who came up with that "preload" nonsense and wring his neck. AFAICS it accomplishes nothing other than breaking Web pages on older browsers. OTOH, I cannot understand why MCP still hasn't addressed link rel="preload" in UXP. It's been an issue for a long time, it breaks major sites like Micro$oft's, and (although I'll admit I don't know enough to be sure) it doesn't seem like something that would be all that hard to implement.

  29. Definitely not just you. I used to see that problem all over the place when I was on NM28. Too many folks tend to think that javascript is the problem that makes modern sites no longer "work" on older browsers. But that problem has nothing to do with javascript, it's a css issue and it happens a LOT with NM28 on web sites that have a "navigation banner" with dropdown menus.

  30. I feel the same way and I also think I'd be happier without so much tech .... I'm thinking about taking the summer off from all forums and not returning at all and see if I feel better. Resetting might be good for you and try to get outside and find solace in nature ... get back to the 'basics' again before all this madness when life was more simple. Nature never disappoints.

  31. We've grown too picky, too entitled, I notice it with myself way too often. I hate what I see in the mirror, I've become a monster I despise. I need a reset, something. Perhaps spend less time with tech.

  32. Maybe it works for this too? Thank you very much! Setting dom.forms.button.standards_compliant to false did the trick. For the very first time, I was able to upload a test file from New Moon 28 to my main folder on Codeberg. I am really happy. Great find! Thanks again!

  33. Oh, I pretty much guarantee that the answer to that, worded that way, is "nothing". Rather, v114 *plus* v115 brought a SO-CALLED "security fix" that Chase just "has to have".

  34. Thanks, that's good to know, although personally I'm not worried about my browsers being 'Googled'.

  38. Both SM an TH have terribly smudged, bright, too light fonts, whereas 360 has good, readable fonts, we already posted screenshots in Supermium topic. The reason I avoid both for now, I got an eye trauma after I fell off the second floor of an old hooch in Africa colonies, while on patrol, so it's especially hard for me to read now. What can I suggest? CatsXP 115 has very good, similar fonts to 360, also it switches off the stupid Direct write. But it *of course* includes China telemetry. Later on, CatsXP went the same road and made those terrible fonts, too! Excuse me for any errors, I temporarily don't see well.

  39. I never turned against it! It was only a handful of users, one of them being with the name starting with "Not.......". Your original question is off-topic, you were trying to install something that belongs to Windows 7 only.

  40. You can't! "VxKex is a set of API extensions for Windows 7 that allow some Windows 8, 8.1 and 10-exclusive applications to run on Windows 7." You confused Vista with Wn7.

  41. Win 98 FE is rather picky with its drives, its been known for decades. Probably SE is much more compatible. But then again, I'm sure you have the reasons to use the First Edition.
