  1. As far as I know, the latest version is still UniExtract2 2.0.0 RC 4 Nightly (15.10.2023) from here: https://update.bioruebe.com/uniextract/files/nightly.zip

  3. But 24Gb is indeed so low for windows7! It sounds more like a minimum requirement from the 90's/early 2000s. I remember I had a laptop with only 40GB (37 or so in reality) in 2002, and it seemed small even at that time. I had to copy files to CD to save space constantly.

  6. What's the purpose of your post rather than spam? No one needs your judgemental attitude. But then again, it proves what I wrote before. Reporting increased brightness issue is perfectly fine - it's not "complaining". Again troubles with the translation software? In fact, the brightness increases with each version, 117/118 was tolerable, 121 not. Ho many times do I have to tell you, dark flags do NOT change the font rendering. They simply replace web pages with inverted colours, or white areas with black. Fonts stay the same. Study, study, study.

  7. win32 does visit it. Try to read before posting. It had already been posted https://msfn.org/board/topic/185045-supermium/?do=findComment&comment=1259720 No one "owns" threads here. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185045-supermium/?do=findComment&comment=1259793 There's no need to parrot what I already said before. 8. And a special thanks to @nicolaasjan for providing objective and real facts in that inofficial Pale Moon thread! I really appreciate your objectivity and practicality. As you probably know, I haven't posted on the Pale Moon forum for a long time. And I always feel vindicated in this decision when I read such comments. Thanks again!

  9. And again, only half-truths and falsehoods in the Pale Moon forum by our "friend" athenian200, in a thread that is not the official support thread of my mod uBlock Origin Legacy: Source: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30787&sid=feea3eb912a653ba49c1fb3c2bc447f3&start=60#p248309 Why does someone who spreads so many untruths and half-knowledge think he can give advice, especially when he has discredited himself so much with an inadequate examination and disastrous conclusions? Unbelievable! He shouldn't gloss over mistakes he has made, but rather apologise to his readers for the nonsense which he spread there. Read here: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30787&sid=feea3eb912a653ba49c1fb3c2bc447f3&start=60#p248292 The only thing that is really true in his stories is that he has no idea about extensions. Here is a quotation from the linked post above: Anyway! If one had read the changelogs I provided, one would have realised that not only filter lists were changed. Please, ignore what this guy is saying there! Form your own independent and uninfluenced opinion! Therefore, I advise everyone to read here or ask questions here to get factually correct answers or information when it comes to my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. Kind regards, AstroSkipper

  10. ... When upstream (Moonchild Productions) forked UXP from a Mozilla ESR 52.6.0 code snapshot (which had FULL support for ALL Vista SP2 features, including Aero Glass in its default theme ), the first task they undertook was to completely excise ALL code features pertaining to Windows XP and Vista support from their future application platform, as they targeted ONLY Win7+; this hunt for XP/Vista code was a relentless one, spearheaded by then lead dev Matt A. Tobin, a sworn enemy of these OSes ... When current maintainer (roytam1) of these UXP forks attempted to restore the removed support by upstream, his main focus was on the Windows XP OS, as it's the one he's using too and the one the overwhelming majority of his targeted "audience" uses... It would appear that while most of the XP stuff got re-introduced into the tree successfully, the same wasn't true for Vista , at least where St52's visual aspects (on that OS) are concerned; St52 sports the Australis GUI, OTOH NM28 inherits visual code from a pre-Australis era, and I can confirm that Aero Glass works as intended in NM28 under Vista... A similar issue exists for Serpent 55 under Vista ; initial ports of the ill-fated upstream application Basilisk55/moebius would be fully compatible with Vista's Aero, but at later stage (when St55 became a roytam1 "exclusive"), porting code from forked-UXP and other, XP-exclusive, third party repos BROKE Aero (and Widevine CDM, for that matter) on St55/Vista ... It's worth noting that Aero Glass works fine for both St52/55 on Win7, so it's only the Vista side of it that's currently broken on these browsers... I, and several other, Vista users had reported at the time (and, on occasion, at later instances ) the visual shortcomings of St52/55 under Vista, but, as time went by, these remained without being addressed ; I grew to live with them ; after all, what can one do when one isn't a Mozilla browser coder ? These threads were living previously on an XP-specific MSFN subforum, mentioning Vista there always made me feel like walking on thin ice ... TL:DR: Roy Tam doesn't have a Vista OS (VM?) to debug this; given Vista's low popularity/user base, especially among the forked-UXP apps crowd, this "issue" (non-existent under XP, which doesn't support Aero, ofc) has silently become a WONTFIX for us, Vista luddites ... FWIW, I'm using a self-patched version of the "upstream" Photonic complete theme on Serpent 52 (the theme ONLY supports official Basilisk/PM on Win7+), that gives me a good approximation of Aero under Vista: Greetings ...

  11. If all steps in my guide are performed thoroughly, it should work in any case. My guide was tested successfully by different users. You mentioned that you are using VM and Hyper-V in a network with a server and clients. I assume that rather could be the cause of the problem. I use Windows XP installed on real hardware. The method "Restoring WU/MU by using the patch + proxy method" worked like a charm there. So, you unfortunately have to check all your network and internet settings. BTW, I couldn't open your attached file on my Android tablet. I will try it later at my desktop computer where Wireshark is installed. A pcapng file is a special file format used by Wireshark. But one thing is clear. If my guide and other methods don't work in your system, then your system itself is the causer of all problems. My advice to you: Try first one of the methods on a standalone (no client or server) computer without VM or other virtualisation techniques! If it is working then, you rather will get an idea what's the cause of errors. The more complex a system, the more difficult to find the cause of a problem.

  14. And this ... how is such discussion "letting a project down?" I mean really!!! Are we trying to grow a market for Kleenex tissues here? Unbelievable. I just ... don't know what to think. And here I though I was sensitive!

  15. I'm sorry, but that sort of thinking is taking this all WAY TOO PERSONALLY! And sure, you can stop by one of my thread's and make comparisons to something else. That's called "discussion". At the end of the day, it's just technology. By the way no one owns threads here. Even on Roytam1s and NotHere's threads, people make comparisons to things. For example, a few posts yet, I praised Supermium because it game Vista a real contender for the modern web. It beats out Roytam1s and NotHere's offerings (in my mind). So by your logic, are we not allowed to say that? It's perfectly a relevant comparison.

  16. Yes, it's indeed the card I bought in 2018 (but it was even cheaper), I think it's the cheapest option, as of now. The only difference, in mine they got the usual caps replaced with ceramics.

  17. What is your problem D. Draker? There's no "emotional soap" or whatever nonsense your rambling on about. We're making COMPARISONS, and besides you, it appear everyone else gets what I'm trying to articulate. Are you telling me you need me to show you what a titlebar is in an image? Are you really telling me that? Besides, I'm sure win32 is not able to make such a change because it's basically "Chrome" Also, lately it seems a few of you newbies are starting to dictate how manage threads and posts. You're not the format police, so join in the conversation, or don't comment.

  18. That certainly could be true, but I compared these browsers (Supermium and MyPal 68) just now with Explorer++, Softmaker Office and Serpent 52, and I'm not noticing a difference. All I can say is that out of all the options on this rather ill-equipped Vista notebook, Supermium really does run well. Very snappy considering I only have 2 GB or memory.

  19. Hello, recently I started working on modifying DWM to customize Windows to my tastes, and this is what I've managed to get so far: I implemented all of this using Windhawk, but I might eventually move it all into its own program. The code is definitely not ready for release (buggy), plus it's still missing a few things that I'd like for an initial release. The blur implementation is also not the best, and I'd rather do it in a way closer to BigMuscle's, since this is based on Valinet's method, which considering was just quickly created to prove that blur is possible in 2004+, has its fair share issues. This can be seen as a proof of concept in a way, maybe a tech demo. For the buttons, I decided to rewrite both the functions that handle their positions and sizes in DWM, which gives me full control over the implementation. For example, I can modify this mod to make the buttons look the way they do in the Basic theme, Luna theme, even Classic theme, theoretically, all in DWM, meaning that there should be no compatibility issues with applications. You may have also noticed that the text is missing from the titlebars. That's due to the fact that in Windows 8.1 and 10, the titlebar text is rendered using GDI, and I'm still not sure how to make the background transparent (I've tried using SetBkMode but it didn't seem to do anything). I'll probably end up trying to render the text the same way Windows 7 does, as that's the OS whose look I'm trying to match. As for a release, I'm not sure when this will be ready. Could be this year, could be next year, it really depends on how much time I have on my hands, especially considering the project's current primitive state.

  22. Curious factoid: Supermium renders *some* fonts with grayscale anti-alising where other browsers, e.g. Mypal, use cleartype. No idea if this has anything to do with perceived 'brightness,' but a verifiable difference. BTW, this happens only on some sites/fonts, Google results, for instance, appear in cleartype.

  27. For those who may think this thread is visited regularly by win32, I just want to remind them that this thread was created and owned by Dibya, and that the first and only time win32 participated in it was in september 2023 (first page), about right before an apparently very sensitive to brightness participant complained about "excessive brightness", something only one other participant in this thread has complained about. For them: try dark mode/dark ui flags, they work flawlessly and, as the whole supermium package, for free.

  30. Of course it does. Official "supported" drivers are too old for gaming, it may come as a surprise, but yes, I do game on my PC. But like I wrote, official or modded - makes no difference in Supermium's brightness, and I tried on another computer with another Nvidia card, also. Of which I notified in the edited post.

  32. As you surely noticed, you have to use a more recent version v1.5 of ProxHTTPSProxy when using IE8 for connecting with MU/WU. The error code 0x80072F78 is described as "ERROR_HTTP_INVALID_SERVER_RESPONSE = The server response could not be parsed." You should check everthing related to your internet connection. Did you already read my Complete guide for restoring IE's access to WU/MU website using ProxHTTPSProxy or HTTPSProxy in Windows XP? I think you missed something.

  38. Bingo @VistaLover. The GDI flag worked. Move over Roytam1 and NotHereToPlayGames (all in jest, I promise), but you have been supplanted. We now have modern browsing in Vista (without any extended kernel). Although 360 does allow tables under the address bar (ahem, tabs - I'll leave the error intact because of subsequent responses ), so I do tip my hat to NotHereToPlayGames for that one especially. And Roytam! has come along with bringing XP and Vista up to browsing snuff.

  39. Hey folks! Forgive my confusion. I finally started to give Supermium a run for its money on my Dell Inspiron Notebook PC, running Vista Home Basic SP2. It has 2 GB of RAM, yet Supermium is running really swiftly considering everything. Now I downloaded my copy from GitHub. It installs to the AppData\Local Folder., whereas I unzipped the Chrome-Bin contents in to a \Program Files\Supermium folder. In either case, it sports a Windows 10-esque title bar. I understood that Win32s made a version with the old Chrome interface. Where is that downloaded from? I appreciate your help.
