  5. Currently using three of JustOff's addons and he's keeping up with the most important one, uBlock. They don't even make any money for their work, all they get are complaints, even some on that thread as we see with jacobliu1234. He's free to use chrome if he wants "modern" standards. The way I've seen google lately they're actually dragging internet choice and freedom down, not moving it forward.

  7. Hi to all MSFN members. CCleaner considers New Moon as Firefox. We would expect it to be the same for Thunderbird and MailNews. But is not so. However, I noticed that after starting Thunderbird there are 3 areas considered by CCleaner. 1) Internet Cache 2) Cookies 3) Session: I have verified that the files / folders are almost identical for Session and Internet Cache. While I do not detect Cookies. I added these 2 settings to the custom folders / files to be cleaned: I'm asking some MSFN members to check the above. And if there is any mistake to help me correct it. Thank you.

  9. After some .inf file editing I managed to get my onboard Asmedia ASM2142 USB 3.1 controller to work with Windows 2000. I tested the drivers with ASM2142, but, generally speaking, they should work with devices with the following detection IDs: PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1040 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1041 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1042 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1142 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1240 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1241 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1242 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_1343 PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_2142 Additional testing would be greatly appreciated. Important: you must have KernelEx and Extended Core v16a installed before installing the drivers! Windows will BSOD on boot if you install the drivers without them. ASMedia_USB_1.16.41.3.rar

  10. You're lucky to get by with only two, in Serpent I've got 36 of them and all of them are used frequently. It's actually surprising that the browser even opens.

  14. I see. I have the same problem on mine. I had to extended the partitions when i started to download the updates of office 2010, more than 5 GB (superseded and SP2 excluded) ! I think this is because a lot of updates include other languages (seen in file information) even though I only configured it to download English and French... Good news

  15. Also, why use POS updates when you can get the real ones? Windows 7 is NOT unsupported, Microsoft just wants people to think that. They are releasing updates through 2023. Just saying...

  16. Avast 18.8 can certainly get definition updates on vanilla Vista. Do you mean it wasn’t working with an older version of extended kernel, but now it does? I’m glad to hear that someone is able to use Avast with extended kernel! Let us know if you encounter any issues.

  19. Hey, y'all. I like to fiddle with old computers: mostly using DOS, because it rocks. But sometimes using Win98SE, which is OK in small doses. I've used this forum as an excellent informative resource over the years. Now I have an account here. Hi!
