  1. Is there anything else specific to "1511" that you can recommend I try? Or are we about at best, by this point? I'm happy so far with how the machine is running, but am willing to dabble a bit more if y'all think it'll make an add'l difference.
  2. Most of the services you recommended disabling, I already had disabled. 👍🏻 But I implemented most of your other suggestions, inc. removing the unnecessary system software. Most of this, I had done with the 10586 I had locked down years ago, but that was back when I had a lot more free time to do the research. I hadn't expected to do any of it w/Win10 LTSC IoT, but it obviously became a necessity w/all this ridiculous lag. (I still can't believe it; I've never had such problems with Win10 before!) Anyway! After doing all of that stuff, I've been farting around w/my computer again and it does seem to now be running quite smoother. Not sure which of your suggestions eased it, but I hope it's now going to be a lot easier to get some work done on this machine. I'll report back if it creeps in again, but at least for now it doesn't seem to be a "placebo effect" - the lag was so frequent, I'd have noticed it dozens of times by now. So, super-duper thanks for taking the time to share all of those tips!
  3. I'm alive. I've simply got a heavy schedule with limited free time for the computer. I've read your suggestions and am implementing the majority of them. Will report back when "finished," with some results. May be a few days though. Thanks for taking the time to share all the info.
  4. 1). Will share tomorrow. 2-3). No, it's just a general lag; doesn't matter what I'm doing or how I'm doing it, the lag just randomly pops up when it feels like it -- which is far too often for my sanity. 4). Not 100% sure what you mean by "non-Windows," but the lag isn't selective; it'll happen when just trying to open up the C drive and view files, for example. As I said, this is all new, post-LTSC IoT upgrade. Machine was running perfectly smooth before. I figured LTSC IoT would actually improve performance, not bottleneck the hell out of it.
  5. Upgraded from 10586. 3TB space free. SSD manually trimmed, no difference. Search Indexer and Sysmain were already disabled. Any of y'all have an up-to-date list for LTSC IoT of "useless" services that may be disabled?
  6. OK... So, if there's anyone here with any ideas about the lag issues I'm having with Win10 LTSC IoT, I'd appreciate if you could share them.
  7. Hello, all. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 LTSC IoT, and I quite like it so far. The one snag I've run into is that sometimes (read: OFTEN), the computer lags before responding to what I'm trying to do. For example, clicking the Start menu. Or opening a program. Even switching between programs with Alt + Tab tends to lag. Sometimes the delay is just a moment, other times it's 15+ seconds!! It's quite irritating when I'm trying to do some serious work in a hurry. This lag issue never happened before I did the upgrade. When I started to notice the lag, I deleted compattelrunner.exe to make sure it wasn't sucking up resources, but the lag problem persists. I'm not sure what sort of things I can try to resolve this issue, but I'd sure as heck welcome some suggestions! Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to share some tips.
  8. Hey, y'all. I like to fiddle with old computers: mostly using DOS, because it rocks. But sometimes using Win98SE, which is OK in small doses. I've used this forum as an excellent informative resource over the years. Now I have an account here. Hi!
