I did not try the 111 beta yet. I was in-process of trying 3.2.4 when you posted. And YES, I can confirm that it is v110 and it DOES work on vanilla Win7 [no extended kernels, no POSReady-whatever-they-call-them-for-7] (I have a strong dislike toward "extended" kernels, but I applaud their role in the tech-savvy community).3 points

... All's good! However, looking back at all this, the "decision" of one member here to "shorten" (in order to "sanitise") a reference to a, otherwise popular , website has led to so many additional posts by other members here, including me, that only remotely (if at all) touch the subject of this thread ... Posts "exploded" to all aspects of human endeavour, i.e. natural sciences, history, linguistics, particular aspects of specific languages, education, Roman numerals, coins, ethics/morality, psychic health, addictions, human relationships/[pre-]sex, anything else I neglected? Even suggestions to not "avalanche" to further OT posts were disregarded, it appears... Each and every one of the above is a very interesting topic to converse about , however I humbly think here is not the most appropriate "place"; I, as much as anybody, can live with "a few" OT comments among a majority of posts with substance/relevance to the main subject(s) discussed in a dedicated thread; more than "a few" and I picture "trains de-railed" ... At the same time, some members here wonder why "these" threads reach so quickly the 200-page threshold ... (I'm also subscribed to these threads via e-mail notifications, "OT" posts also cram my inbox (and disk space, as I use a dedicated client, not webmail), so even more personal time needed to devote on sorting out the "valuable" from the "OT" e-mails...) Again, this is only my personal view on things, I don't expect all the rest to abide by it, but I'm entitled to it, aren't I? (NB: Don't do it; don't start another "OT avalanche" due to this post of mine; "reactions" (positive, only) are there for a reason.)3 points

I guess sometimes something just snaps in one's mind and then things are never the same again. I'll never understand how these so-called loners get to the point of reproducing. What a paradox. I tried mIRC a very long time ago, just out of curiosity, was in elementary school period, didn't stay there, only remember one short convo with someone that was just messing around. If there was more, it must have been even more pointless so not worth memorizing. Dating sites? What are those (rhetoric question) ? I know a place on Reddit where loners who would like to be with someone vent. Sad, that situation is one of many forms of suffering. I only use Skype to annoy my co-workers, haha. While job keeps me busy, I'd prefer something more pleasant in its place, but what can ya' do?2 points

Newly available Maxar satellite imagery shows several hundred meters long surface rupture with horizontal displacements up to 4m near Nurdağı, Gaziantep province, Turkey. I don’t know if even the best concrete can resist that! Here: https://strangesounds.substack.com/p/vaccine-mandates-could-soon-be-rolling Thank you, Manuel!2 points

After reading the last comments here, I rather think we have to be grateful for every developer who still supports Windows XP nowadays. So I'm glad that programs like Pegasus Mail, DreamMail Pro and MailNews exist at all and are free of charge. They are of course not comparable to the email clients available for Windows 7+, but they work. The current release Pegasus Mail 4.80 from 14.02.2022 is still XP-compatible and quite up-to-date. The beta 4.81 is unfortunately not XP-compatible anymore. I extracted the installer and did a manual install as suggested by Dutch support, but unfortunately without success. The main program winpm-32.exe is the culprit and no longer XP-compatible. I am still in contact with the support and hope that maybe this will be fixed in one of the next releases. As we all know, hope dies last. Cheers, AstroSkipper2 points

In my Windows Vista it is working fine, I tried to make an image capture of that. https://ibb.co/CVKxc0f I'm also using the latest Extended Kernel from October 20222 points

I'm myself not interested in this chinese browser , but for those who , you may replace NtOpenKeyEx with NtCreateKey. It's basically the same. I'm not sure why that chinese developer chose to use it, especially if the name somewhat suggests "XP" compatibility. They sure do have their own view on logic.2 points

And even MORE IMPORTANTLY (to me at least) is that they also maintained the ability to Disable DirectWrite.2 points

Everyone has their own hobbies. I've never been a fan of anything AGT or any of the knockoffs of AGT. In my view, if the television series falls under the category of "reality tv", then it has NOTHING to do with "reality" and I move on to the next channel.2 points

Any of the Chrome Web Store extensions will work for setting up a default new tab. You can also design your own "local" new tab. Just .zip all of your self-made new tab html files to a file called newtab.zip and place it in the same folder as chrome.dll.2 points

Last night I installed catsxp browser portable which is very similar to Brave ( Brave fork ) and I have to say I really like it. It is using chrome 110. ( Ver:3.2.4 Kernel:110.0.5481.92) If you are not averse to Chinese products, you should give it a go. All extensions based on chrome are supported. You can get it from catsxp.com Cheers2 points

Hi, I just test win7 SP1, win8.1 on the Gigabyte z690 UD DDR4 board, both bit32 versions. In win7 SP1 I have to change the acpi.sys against my modded version, because it shows Acpi A5 BSOD during install. The for XP modded USB3 driver works there. But compi is slow. A check shows, that only 790 MB ram are free, the same for win8.1. Any idea, for to get more ram Dietmar1 point

Well this was not the ordinary as we joined together and I was trying to get him to return, but I read over at our old forum and he said he can't get back in here anymore so I will allow this thread and Dave to not feel pressured to return. Dave was a member here though and as you see I was the first to reply to him but I was unwell myself. Be well Dave and do what you do - do well and just dust yourself off and try, try again and never give up on life.1 point

Dr Pepper Would Like to Be the Official Soft Drink of Texas—Not Just of Our Hearts It seems like a formality at this point, but here’s why it makes sense to make our relationship with Dr Pepper official. In February 1973, in the the very first issue of Texas Monthly, we published an article called “Understanding Dr Pepper.” In the 46 years since, we’ve devoted a great deal of space to the beverage. And why wouldn’t we? There are few brands more iconically Texan than Dr Pepper, no matter who owns it (it’s Keurig) or where they bottle it (not Dublin, Texas). Dr Pepper tastes like a Texas summer, a rush of caffeine and fizz and sugar and joy. It’s still a wonderful base for an ice cream float—a treat at the heart of a decades-long tradition at Baylor University—and the only soft drink brand with its own museum right here in our fine state. Other states have their iconic soft drinks, sure. Coca-Cola is entwined with Georgia (specifically Atlanta), and Pepsi’s origins are rooted in North Carolina—but Texans are so fiercely proud of everything born and bred here that our relationship to Dr Pepper is special. And the company, despite being owned by Yanks, is nonetheless looking to formalize it. To that end, they’ve launched a Change.org petition urging the Texas Legislature to declare Dr Pepper the official soft drink of Texas. Nope, as it's not fully working. A link will be published with a guide when the site will be fully working. There are plenty of bugs right now.1 point

Possibly. Unsure as of yet. Catsxp will be a "godsend" for those of you that like "dark mode". My primary focus as a backburner project has been to "ungoogle" GDIChromium v96 (there are 458 strings within chrome.dll that need modified one at a time and I cannot fully test until I've performed all 458). I am aware that there is a v103 but I prefer v96 based on performance metrics.1 point

@legacyfan Was it really needed to revive a 2018 "Introduce yourself" topic (BTW by someone that in the meantime unsubscribed - the Guest in his name means that he is not a member anymore)? @XPerceniol and @msfntor Please, do check dates of posts AND context when replying, I can understand how you have this urge to exchange niceties at every possible occasion, but maybe the handful of topics on which you already do this daily are enough? jaclaz1 point

On the other hand, it seems to me that win 7 would be more capable to run modern software if development/support was not cut, and that XP had more limitations in this regard.1 point

(for PM27/KM76/FF45) A: Download following packages for your browser edition(32bit/64bit) and extract DLLs to same place as palemoon.exe lives. 32bit LAV dlls are in separated package (extracted from K-Lite codec pack 13.5.5) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav.7z Just in case if you have an older processor which has no SSE instruction set support: 32bit NoSSE (ffmpeg 3.1.1 lite build) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-mmx.7z 32bit No ASM (ffmpeg 3.1.1 lite build, if build above doesn't work on your processor) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-noasm.7z 64bit LAV dlls are in separated package (LAV Filters 64bit 0.70.2) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav64.7z Q: AV1 Support? (for UXP-based applications except mailnews) A: You need to enable "media.av1.enabled" in about:config Q: VP9 Support? (for PM27) A: VP9 works if async MSE option is unchecked and "Enable MSE for WebM Video" checked in options. Q: Extensions/Themes not working after updating binaries. A: If you encounter extensions not show icon, clicking options button of extension causing browser unresponsive, etc. please try following actions: 1.a Killing palemoon.exe process 1.b Copy whole extensions folder out of profile folder (to somewhere else for example, desktop) 1.c Restart browser without restoring previous sessions 1.d Goto about:addons page 1.e Drop XPI files from the copied-out extensions folder to about:addonss page One-by-One. 1.f After all XPI files are dropped and installed/updated, restart browser Q: Virus detected? A: Tell your anti-virus program to exclude palemoon.exe and/or plugin-container.exe. Some anti-virus heuristic engines (for example symantec's sonar engine) is too sensitive to palemoon.exe/plugin-container.exe network activities. Q: Where's your patches for compiling my own? A: Please visit the link above "FAQ:". Latest source patch files are named "sources_patches_YYYYMMDD.7z" in that page. Q: basilisk browser showing basic pages in GMail? A: set these to "true" in about:config general.useragent.compatMode.firefox general.useragent.compatMode.gecko Q: Should I let official Pale Moon and "New Moon" both using same profile (at the same time / alternatively)? A: it is not recommend to do that, as they have different NSS security library, which has different encryption procedure to the saved password database. Same profile being "touched" by different gecko/goanna applications may cause unexpected behaviors. If you want to launch both Pale Moon and "New Moon" / Basilisk and "Serpent" / etc. at the same time, one of them should be in "--no-remote" portable mode. Q: How to change User Interface language? A: Please see this post: Q: Portable Loader? A: You can always use official portable launcher with my binaries, or you can use my simple portable loader written in NSIS: Q: How to install extensions/themes in BNavigator browser?
