Ok i found that there is message at the bottom: Your files, apps and settings cant be kept because you are installing an edition of Windows that is different than the one youre currently using. Problem is that i dont understand why, what is so special on my edition? I have WIndows 7 SP1 64 bit activated, updated.. i had PRO edition, use Anywhere update to push it to Ultimate edition, but i still see this message. I dont think that problem is language version, because we i use difference language edition message is different and post to language. I used WIndows 10 media creation tool, which i hoped would be clever enough to created the right version to upgrade, i also tried to donwload some WIndows 10 iso files from the internet, or MS side by using Blueberry client trick but i still have this problem I there any tool to get more info about installed OS version than Winver, or why its not compatible? Update: I found out that strictly PRO iso 1607 is working, but not newer.. some universal iso or consumer iso, simply does not working. 1703 info still have Pro 64bit version, which is working too, but later consumers iso are not working.. I wonder do i need business version of iso to upgrade? I found some ISO archive here: https://files.rg-adguard.net/version/f0bd8307-d897-ef77-dbd6-216fefbe94c5 its generating iso by downloading, but for some reason business edition script is failing.

Audio not working on Windows XP x64 Surface Pro 1

Have you used the 5eraph update packs? You need to remake the install iso with a newer version of it. Try the 2024 version from here: https://archive.org/details/5eraphupdatepacks/ -
I had a windows 11 Pro 24H2 update today (10/16/2025) and I am not sure which of the following updates broke version 3.9.15 taskbar making it transparent and no autohide. The taskbar on bother monitors broke. 2025-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5066835) (26100.6899) 2025-10 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5066131) I updated to version 3.9.16 which fixed the primary taskbar but my secondary screen remains broken. Edit: Uninstalled KB5066835 and that update broke the taskbar.

My color HP 656c printed quickly via USB from Windows 98 in 2002. I second the recommendation for trying the oldest available drivers. Try the default PCL5 drivers first: Back up your system Uninstall/remove all drivers and software related to printing Backup/create a new restore point Attach printer and scan for new hardware Select any Laserjet that uses PCL5 drivers If this solves the print delay problem, install updated HP drivers if you want more features.

I had an issue with the start menu after a windows update and i could not change it back to what I had before. Tried to update from 3.9.9 to the latest version 3.9.16 and it would update and still stay at 3.9.9. I uninstalled it and downloaded the newest version from the website and installed it and when it was done installing its at the same version 3.9.9.

... Be that as it may, I've witnessed the same thing on my own (i.e. on clips other than the one mentioned in the linked GH issue), e.g. on "SxVNOnPyvIU": yt-dlp_x86 -vF "SxVNOnPyvIU" => 95 mp4 1280x720 24 | ~23.64MiB 754k m3u8 | avc1.4D401F mp4a.40.2 WEB-S 136 mp4 1280x720 24 | 8.67MiB 277k https | avc1.4d401f 277k video only 720p, TV, mp4_dash 247 webm 1280x720 24 | 9.30MiB 297k https | vp9 297k video only 720p, TV, webm_dash 398 mp4 1280x720 24 | 9.48MiB 302k https | av01.0.05M.08 302k video only 720p, TV, mp4_dash 96 mp4 1920x1080 24 | ~64.60MiB 2060k m3u8 | avc1.640028 mp4a.40.2 WEB-S 137 mp4 1920x1080 24 | 30.06MiB 958k https | avc1.640028 958k video only 1080p, TV, mp4_dash 248 webm 1920x1080 24 | 25.13MiB 801k https | vp9 801k video only 1080p, TV, webm_dash 399 mp4 1920x1080 24 | 16.68MiB 532k https | av01.0.08M.08 532k video only 1080p, TV, mp4_dash ca. 300kbps for the video track for a 720p24 resolution is just too little, if you ask me; likewise for the 1080p24 resolution; notice how the Web Safari (WEB-S) formats have twice the bitrate of the TV_client (TV) formats ... FWIW, I don't consume that much of YT myself ; perhaps @j7n can share more on this ... Regards.

@Monroe For simple things ,where a no logging policy does not be of any interest, free VPN services may be used. BTW, VPNBook is another one. However, I personally prefer paid VPN services. Luckily, I own several lifetime licenses which have been working for years. Even though not all their servers can be used under Windows XP due to modern protocols, my VPN providers still offer older connection protocols on some servers as I prefer the L2TP/IPSec or in second place the PPTP protocol under Windows XP. Unfortunately, OpenVPN puts too much strain on my system.

Well, both these missing DLLs are referred to as "dependencies" of wrapper DLL "kernelxp.dll"; but @cmalex has never provided them in his custom, XP-targeting, CPython assemblies, e.g. https://mega.nz/folder/jst2WJ5B#sknEpEBamwPomx8UULWuMA/file/igNWhbCb so he should know better ; in fact, I have tracked those wrapper DLLs (kernelxp.dll, ntext.dll, psapi.dll, ws2_xx.dll) inside below folder: https://mega.nz/folder/KxExlAiC#L9rAQ5kTCtlHgZUwaxMpgw/folder/Os1DmLgL and the accompanying README simply states: In any case, PyInstaller just issues WARNINGs, no fatal errors, and the resultant packages function as expected; so, these warnings can be regarded as "red herrings" and can be safely ignored; just my 2c ...

You spoke too soon. This is not an issue at all. As commented by xpalidotious, the video is mostly static, which means a low(er) bitrate would suffice for a targeted image quality.

https://www.file-upload.net/download-15542984/fileextd.dll.html that fileextd.dll a old file you dont see that often, the kernelex.dll must be a custom kernel extender

Experimenting with GPT and Hard Disks >2TB under WinXP

did you make the capacity test ? https://www.nextofwindows.com/how-to-verify-sd-card-capacity-on-windows -
so it was on a ethernet cable or parallel "printer" cable? maybe the printer has a bad usb performance, are patched files involved (the PAE 128 GB extender has other usb drivers for example from vista) therefore you should repeat that usb performance test with a different OS, but maybe the same hardware of the computer

SoftGPU - successor to VBEMP with 2d/3d (software) acceleration
the solutor replied to pangoomis's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Ok but you mentioned VMware 8, I didn't dream about it. About real HW, I guess it all depends on the vesa implementation in the BIOS. Perhaps the author of SoftGPU seem vanished since July or so, I hope he is well. -
I assume your HP Laserjet 2420 is a black and white printer of the the year 2004. I have a color Laserjet 2605 of the year 2006 and have used it also via IP. Fiddling around with it is very time-consuming. Suggestions and thoughts, maybe they help: - reinstall the printer driver + create a NEW printer icon in Printers and Faxes - installing the older driver from the original driver CD had worked for me, but not a more recent driver downloaded from HP - I started to install the driver from the CD WITHOUT the printer connected during the installation a window came up: "Connection Type" -> Directly using a USB cable then a window came up "Connect your device Now -> power on the printer -> connect the USB cable - IEEE 1284 is Centronics [=slow parallel], the USB printer icon created for my HP2605 was originally named "HP Color Laser Jet 2605dn_2605dtn PCL6"

I don't want to use it in a virtual machine, but on a real PC with a Haswell iGPU. -
@Darth Agnon I used dotexe build and it worked quite well. Today i was looking for a newer Version and discovered that dotexe's github account with the vxkex versions was deleted. Do you happen to know what's going on?

You need at least VMware 15.x.x or VBox 7.xx to use the driver at its best, older versions may work or not with progressive lack of functionality -

Obviously is MY mode of doing things and not Mikey Mouse's one, and my mode told me that the 2D VGA support was good enough in VMware since when I rewiewed it in august 2000, I generally care relatively little of VBox that has been always behind and only recently started to be usable (especially on Linux hosts). Perhaps it's called SoftGPU and not SoftVGA for a reason. 3D is the focus, then if it's brings 2D advantages as a byproduct they are welcome. Assuming that talking of 2D only makes sense today like it did in '98, given a lot of modern "2D" features are really rendered as a flat 3D surfaces (the optput settings of MPC-HC exposes a real world example of that) -
Well, it has come back again here ; I have to re-launch yt-dlp several times repeatedly to have the "tv_client" streams appear; most of the time, I simply get: WARNING: [youtube] ero26lcWXjo: Some tv client https formats have been skipped as they are missing a url. And if it were me, I would use the OLDEST XP driver-only that I could find. Yes, the OLDEST. Or at the very least, go by FILE SIZE and use the SMALLEST.
