I know this is an old thread, but I think this version is lost. All the links are dead. I've tried many other portable versions, but they don't work, unfortunately. Is it still possible to get Office 2010 working on Windows 2000?

Interesting. So it's not just me... Granted, my Win11 (forced in order to use Intuit TurboTax) is strictly VM. But... And perhaps similar to your Firefox crash, if TurboTax performs an UPDATE, it too does not properly CLOSE and therefore cannot be restarted. In my case, Task Manager actually gets me back but I have to terminate a WINDOWS INSTALLER PROCESS that TurboTax opened and THEN terminate the unresponsive TurboTax. So maybe your Firefox opened SOMETHING ELSE and that has to be terminated before you can terminate Firefox ??? Outside of that possibility, if indeed Task Manager cannot get you there, I use System Informer on my host for this type of situation. I'm using version 3.0.5578 because newer versions do not show my GPU activity properly. I only use the "release-bin" and never the "release-setup", but that choice is yours. The NEWER versions are available from here - https://sourceforge.net/projects/systeminformer/files/ The OLDER versions are available from here - sorry, spent about three minutes trying to find, maybe they don't allow them to be downloaded anymore?

tekkaman started following Program to End Process on Windows 11

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to computer veterans here. I own a Windows 11 laptop. There are many reasons to hate Windows 11 but sadly I can't use a lower Windows version on this laptop. There is one thing that really hate about Windows 11 and it's the inability to close non responding applications. For example Firefox crashes sometimes and the task manager isn't able to close any non responsive process like old Windows versions could. You click End Process and it does NOTHING! I have to restart the whole computer just to be able to open Firefox again. This didn't happen in older Windows versions. So is there a third party app that is able to really kill an unresponsive process on Windows 11?

Here you go, should work on 5.1 x86 / 5.2 x86 only. https://www.mediafire.com/file/t7lsbos6a4vjjbr/TPM_6.1.7601.24564_x86.7z/file To have driver signed you need to import this certificate. reg add Earlier, @D.Draker already brilliantly concluded this topic with "less people, more oxygen". Less people, more oxygen... It's a fundamental fact. Short, sweet and colourfully, dazzlingly clever. Just like everything he ever wrote. We miss him so much! And there's nothing more to add, except for posting the grim stats and observations of the inevitable global warming on this overpopulated planet, like Karla did. -
Some bad news, last year in March I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. So that means more meds and blood test and now my GP what's my liver scanned, so in the process of trying to arrange a appointment to see if my liver is okay. I'm trying to eat better and less fatty foods like cheese and takeaways, though not easy as I'm a picky eater.

one stupid question. i've played with search protocole in Windows. this use to open Windows Search in Taskbar. i've put the ES protocole registry code in search protocole. this sounds like: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ES] @="URL:Everything Search Protocol" "URL Protocol"="" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ES\shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ES\shell\open] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ES\shell\open\command] @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Tools\\Services\\ESearchSvc\\ESearchSvc.exe\" -url \"%1\"" this is used by button See more results in StartAllBack's Start Menu. i've removed all Windows Content and i replaced Everything Search parameters into search protocole. i typed wordtyped. when i type from startallback start menu, Everything search opens with search:query=wordtyped and not with wordtyped. (note: i've unchecked Use search flyout for more results) from Start Menu behaivor configuration. its possible to add posibility to add to change behaivour of See more use results menu to use es:// protocole and not the search:// ?

It used to be (intentionally) broken to burden (very high CPU usage) the csrss.exe service (as seen in Task Mgr). I've installed Avast (from v18 online installer) in my testing XP_VM and will tell you tomorrow. Today everything was calm. Avast and AVG in their new, broken, state begin to burden the system through csrss.exe the next day... EDIT: The results are in and nothing changed: AvastSvc.exe constantly eats up ~25% of (dual-core configured) CPU in VM and csrss.exe eats up the other 20% of (dual-core configured) CPU. So both take up almost 1 whole core! That is outrageous, but Avast got our data, they don't care.

I have been running with StartAllBack disabled for the last week or so and today the bug reappeared despite that. So you are right. It happens even though Process Explorer shows that the process has nothing but Microsoft's dlls loaded. Sorry for falsely blaming you.

NotHereToPlayGames replied to Dibya's topic in General Discussion
It's all just politics, politics, politics. Like e-cars are supposed to "save the planet". Until somebody makes a "great e-car" but you DISAGREE with his POLITICS, so you take to the streets and torch them, throw bricks through the windows, scratch the H#ll out of their paint, et cetera, ALL ON ACCOUNT OF **POLITICS**. So *keep me out of it*, I'll stay IN THE MIDDLE so that the two EXTREMES don't come after MY car! *BOTH* of the EXTREMES behaving like a 4yr old throwing a temper-tantrum and learning new curse words for "attention". -
ok i give you guys the right answer the word clima or climate-change is totally missplaced it has its origins in something entire different to norm the first and easier one i will tell you guys what it actually really is the clima word is not the real word - so guess what you have to look what the "climate-debate" actually really wants/suggest and so on and what that is ? yes it are the so called : renewable energies like water power, like solar power, like e-cars, like wind energy (ha - so right to stop climate you have to do these things right ?) - and useally also the nuclear power hate - as you have to know the people who are behind this idea - they dont like nuclear power https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rTAIMTGnAyY so why is that happening ? or what is its real thing that started it up it is multiculture/united world and here is why when they made the mass migration and brought all the products to every place on the planet they found a problem for example the OIL so the right-politicians said something like if all seeking this - the oil will just collapse (aka all going to be west-system) so you can guess what the other side (the lefts) said to this ? they need a different power source - aka away from OIL ha - you guesses right - the so called "renewable energies" are their idea for this thats also why e-cars are highly interesting in a left thinking ... so the left had a problem - they want the e-car so they tryed real hard - many many years ... after some years elon musk suddenly apears (because a main question is also the money) - and guess what elon musk apeared and said something like "i have the money no problem" so it really raise questions of elon musk is even a right - the same also goes for trump - because more or less he actually might legalized marijuana schedule 1 to 3 (from stage 1 to 3 - no stage 2 would be to criminal) (the higher the number the less important the substance) therefore trump de-criminalized marijuana maybe even legalized it - a right politician doing that ? at least that would raise some questions but back to the e-car now a guy is here who suppose to have the money - but for them only that the e-car is happing is important (renewable energies) its not limited to oil by the way it goes for many things like electric current or more efficient houses (so they need less heat power) if the left dont get "renewable energies" they dont get their multiculture/united world (and the demand for more power sources is higher then ever for exactly this reason - and also will keep going up) and again climate talks are not the real thing - weather can be extreme in the us for example there can be a hurricane season either (i do not think even if all use renewable energies just like that - nope that would not stop extreme weather situations) when they had a bad year it suppose to be a climate question ? there are many of such things in the past the next earthquakes very certain will happen , here is one from 1962 (just a long rain period/weather/strong climate year) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3F49XEhFXU but my question is - having the real anwers - what will you guys do ?

YouTube under Windows XP - Downloaders, players and browser support
Ben Markson replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
For anyone struggling to navigate their way through this long thread and who just want some basic instructions getting the yt-dlp4vlc thing to work... This is with VLC 3.0.23.0 Firstly, I had to install the yt-dlp4vlc script in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\playlist as a basic text file called youtube.luac (renaming the original youtube.luac out of the way). . . there may be a way of configuring VLC to use yt-dlp4vlc[.luac?] but don't ask me how. Next up yt-dlp.exe running on XP. This one from October last year is working for me. . . https://github.com/nicolaasjan/yt-dlp/releases/download/2025.10.29.063241/yt-dlp_x86_winXP.exe . . .which goes into C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC renamed to yt-dlp.exe That just leaves hidecon.exe (found in bin.x86-32) which also goes into C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC http://code.kliu.org/misc/hidecon/hidecon-1.2.2-redist.7z With that I was good to go. My Browser Builds (Part 5)

Are Basilisk browser and Palemoon already too old and do not support certain mechanisms to support AI chats like eg: https://chatgpt.com/ https://grok.com/ https://gemini.google.com Gemini AI tries to work for a while, but it immediately "clogs up", it is often impossible to scroll through the contents of the window, everything moves and freezes, stops answering questions further, the circle turns and the further part of the answer no longer shows.
