My new beloved superhero, @autodidact : https://msfn.org/board/profile/398146-autodidact/content/ This most kind, generous and altruistic person is also a member on the videohelp.com forums, where he's been releasing Win7-compatible FFmpeg builds periodically; and here, he's doing the same for Vista/XP users; in some way, he's picked up the baton from Reino (whose very old, SSE-only, PC with XP died one year ago) ... As I said, it was by necessity ; but I don't think he's regretted it ...

My Browser Builds (Part 5)

Thanks. I actually thought it might have something to do with the fact that the initialism ICU, when read in English, sounds like the sentence "I see you!" -

Thanks for the info! Leaving Windows XP,.. that's too bad.

Where do these releases come from? Who is the creator? You?
-
... @Reino has left the Windows XP "Kingdom" for good and he now resides on Win11 territories ...

Fileinfo is a lister plugin for the file manager Total Commander. If interested, you should install version 2.2.3 since the more recent version 2.2.4 doesn't install under Windows XP.

Does anyone know if there's an upgrade version of MCE 2005 out there? I have a version of MCE 2005 that I tried to use to upgrade my XP Pro but it didn't offer the option to upgrade. I was doing this the normal way by putting in the install disk and then rebooting the computer which takes you into the blue screen setup. I also tried it by putting the disk in after I had already booted into XP and then clicking on Setup in the root folder of the MCE 2005 disk and selecting install Windows XP from the Welcome to Setup screen. The first message I got was "The option to upgrade will not be available at this time because Setup was unable to load the file F:\WINNTUPG\NETUPGRD.DLL" (F: is the name of the CD drive the disk was in). I looked at the folders on the disk and yep, there wasn't any folder named \WINNTUPG. When I was doing it the normal way and got to the agree to the EULA screen, I scrolled down to the bottom where I got a valuable piece of information. Don't know if this is the version number of the disk or the EULA but here it is: MCE_05_RTM_OEM_EN. I'm assuming that the "OEM" part means it's the OEM version and I suppose that the upgrade option wasn't offered on that version since the OEM wouldn't be upgrading, they would be doing fresh installs. So is there a retail version available for downloading out there? I want to upgrade my XP Pro SP3 version to MCE without losing any of my apps or their registry entries. And will I need to temporarily remove SP3 in order to upgrade?

The option in settings apparently doesn't work (it still says to check email for instructions but I have already clicked on the link), so please someone manually delete my account. Thank you.

When StartAllBack is active UltraEdit doesn't show up on Taskbar when it's run. One needs to first set focus to some other window, then focusing UE's window makes the icon appear.

What piece of software is that? I know Dependency Walker, but this is not it.

Dr.Watson seems to completely disagree with Dependency Walker: Trap 03 0000 - Breakpoint trap eax=61dd11ec ebx=bff66d80 ecx=00000028 edx=9344ecbc esi=00d08f60 edi=00000000 eip=620b1c4c esp=007cf9bc ebp=007cf9c8 -- -- -- nv up EI pl ZR na PE nc cs=016f ss=0177 ds=0177 es=0177 fs=234f gs=0000 XUL.DLL:.text+0x90c4c: >016f:620b1c4c cc int 3 Exception Code: 80000003 (hardcoded breakpoint) Exception Address: 620b1c4d (XUL.DLL:.text+0x90c4d) Depends.dll is not listed as a loaded module, but neither is Concrt140.dll. Does Dependency Walker show a handled Breakpoint Trap further up in its log (before the Concrt140 process attach)?

Just for reading but it sounds good ... After Outcry, Firefox Promises “Kill Switch” That Turns Off All AI Features Victor Tangermann / Dec 27, 2025 https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/outcry-firefox-promises-kill-switch-ai-features The backlash against AI invading almost every aspect of the computing experience is growing by the day. Particularly as an onslaught of lazy AI slop subsuming news feeds, the tech is starting to feel like a massive distraction — and huge parts of the internet are disillusioned or even fuming in anger. For instance, a vast number of Windows users refused to upgrade after Microsoft announced it would turn the operating system into a so-called “agentic OS.” ..... the article came from here, it's fourth down the list at this time. https://citizenfreepress.com/ ...

Tested RaiseException=v4, and 0xFFFFFFEA exception seems to appear again in both XP SP3 and XP SP3 (Debug mode): WATSON07.WLG
-
Yes: RaiseException(406d1388) again. Use =v4 and hope for additional debugging text from DebugBreak or OutputDebugString in the logs before the code -1 exit.

I have Windows 2000 with extended kernel here in a VM and the latest New Moon works fine. -
Has anyone tested the latest version with Signal?

I tried using debug mode with IsDebuggerPresent enabled, seems like it crashes on NSS3 instead of XUL (probably further than it should be?). Here I provided both DrWatson and ApiLog logs for Mypal68 (updated for WATSON05_NODBG.WLG, XP SP3 mode without debug) : Mypal.zip Dependency Walker (XP debug mode):
