  1. Past hour
  2. You're welcome! Glad it finally works for you. The manual execution of the command I posted for you is actually just a test whether the Thorium browser can be started in your system at all or not. I observed in my installation that from time to time the execution of the batch file didn't do anything for whatever reason. Thus, I modified the code of this batch starter file and compiled it to an EXE file which now runs reliably without any problems. BTW, I brought your comment here as a deeper discussion would have been off-topic in @roytam1's browser thread. This thread here is a better place to get help in terms of Thorium related stuff and discuss its issues.
  3. it could be some kind of rules about post filtering here. I do hit this these days when posting changelogs.
  4. A bit "laxed" requirements for mobile users. "For older Chrome or on Mobile, you need to toggle TLS 1.3 hybridized Kyber support (enable-tls13-kyber) in chrome://flags." I don't see such flag in "older" Chrome 113.
  5. They bumped up to the minimum demand to Chrome/Edge/Firefox 124, lol. Basically, update your browser every two weeks now. Supermium and Thorium are obsolete. https://pq.cloudflareresearch.com/
  6. My brightness is at 20%. (Screencap RGB value is value of pixel, I can set brightness at 2% and everything be three different shades of black, the pixel RGB value is still 255,255,255.) I have compared black levels. I've done everything I can here. This "issue" is not an issue to me. Supermium / Thorium / Catsxp / Brave / "real" Chrome/Chromium all display the same EXACT colors on my system! Fonts, active tabs, inactive tabs. ALL THE SAME EXACT COLORS!
  7. Updated MX vs ATV Legends v3.04 (Season 3 Update) now requires Windows 10 But they say there's still a Windows 7 Fix available, not sure how good.
  8. Kingdom of Fallen: The Last Stand MINIMUM: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system OS: Windows 10 Processor: INTEL CORE I5-8400 | AMD RYZEN 3 3300X Memory: 12 GB RAM Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, 8GB | Radeon RX 5700 XT DirectX: Version 12 https://store.steampowered.com/app/2618360/Kingdom_of_Fallen_The_Last_Stand/
  9. Seeing pure white 255 means your brightness is at max. You need to look at other colours, like you successfully did with grey. Compare black levels.
  10. Thanks for that. I don't have uBlock Origin and I couldn't find the userscript, but I managed to fix it using the Modify HTTP Response add-on. I had to add the Win-Raid forum's hostname to the filter to make it work. Edit: I tried to add the updated filter as code to this post, but the forum won't let me. It spits out a "Forbidden - You don't have permission to access this resource" error message.
  11. Today
  12. I should add, that you should not expect from this "D3D9 HW Rendering Acceleartion" feature, enabled for XP, -- of some impossible in current state of other browser code. It will do some speedup on intermediate level computers. Especially while Youtube videos watching. Not intended for WebGL tests. may be _anything_ with it. Its just restored possibility to do that acceleration in some cases on XP. When Chromuim removed it in the past. On power computers, its may be no differences in rendering/speed. And I'm personally not use it on power computer, because of some disadvantages of that mode.
  13. And you're *not* getting a PURE WHITE active tab ??? Because *ALL* of these browsers give me a PURE WHITE active tab !!!
  14. BTW I'm trying to fix older gecko runtime problem that hangs on startup in win9x, found a strange behavior in nsStr that causes a non-ending loop: https://github.com/roytam1/classilla/commit/f519f735793fba62f953c944aac855e0fc4bf2ae fixing that it no longer hangs in win9x, but still not acting properly. I found the API name for finding SHGetSpecialFolderPath is wrong and I also fixed that: https://github.com/roytam1/classilla/commit/a29ea55eeced9b121b9b6afcd814e739b026d367 but it still can fix the problem. I wonder if you have any other idea/hint about this?
  15. It was my assumption platform development subforum is suitable if you can point out the direction where the issue lies. But issues not being acknowledged also happened in the past in web compat subforum. Though I think you have a point; the latter might slightly more suitable just due to the fact that subforum is all about real examples of broken sites. It's my hunch them being bombarded with issues all the time makes them indifferent at times. And, well, that's just how it is in open-source world.
  16. You already did, it broke WebGL for you (and me). I get million errors in chrome://gpu, Google Street View is useless as nothing renders at all. Old dev build of Chromium 39 is fine, at least old WebGL games work and are playable, HexGL, QuakeJS etc. Forgot to try forcing OpenGL, doesn't work in old Chromium here and I guess it's a long shot with these hacks as well, but OpenGL is the only way to access full potential of DX 10.1+ GPUs on XP, at least in theory. There is improvement in CSS animations, eg. the ones on this site on people's profiles, where you can click the big picture and it expands, it was very choppy before, now they're smooth. YouTube is better, at least you can tell 720p@60FPS from 720p@30FPS, still some frame drops, maybe it's just due to overhead as XP lacks desktop composition. NVIDIA drivers for XP never inspired confidence in my experience, so who knows much they are or aren't a factor.
  17. @Tihiy in the last SAB 3.7.10.4910 it works correctly. Thanks a lot May I have another question? Would it be possible to set another file manager instead of Explorer for opening relevant items in Start Menu? I am using Total Commander for a long long time. Someone can use Directory Opus or others. It would be enough to have the option to enter your own command line, which will open the given item in the defined file manager. Just idea ... ??
  18. Good thing, but only if you know what you're doing, voted accordingly,
  19. Official Brave's github repository. https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/
  20. But the fonts aren't sharp. They are smudged.
  21. Yes. and some people are sensitive to LED lights, thus using LED back-lit monitors isn't recommended. I still use an old CCFL, and full RGB looks good.
  22. No, everything is fine with your eyes! Starting somewhere in 2012-2013 all Nvidia cards are terribly bright and contrast by default. There is a lot of information comparing them to old AMD (in favour of AMD's default colours).
  23. @AstroSkipper, respectfully, drivers from Microsoft can't be unofficial. Example of waht people think in terms of minor update going from .xx to .90. Microsft labs extensively tested that drivers, especially during that era, with browsers being on one of the first places in the test. Example 347.88 vs 347.90 (Microsoft). "I tried them out, and I definitely prefer them to the 347.88 WHQLs. Seem to be smoother to me." "All good to my experience" https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/347-90-version-on-windows-update.397826/page-3
  24. There's a documented difference with grey colour and its shades at github and by you here (thanks!). For me, the problem is with colours being too light, like on that first screenshot. I run Vista without exkernel.
