Also, is GPU acceleration working on your system? It's written on about:support page, should say Direct3D 9 in second row under Graphics in Windows XP if I recall correctly. Hardware acceleration is enabled. The NM28 versions for August 2022 consume much less resources when watching video content on YT and VK. Downloading while watching is one thing, but the video loads the CPU heavily if you apply a speed change. This happens even if only sound is turned on, without video. The video card is not involved, there is no hardware acceleration. Moreover, if the speed is set to 0.5, then this also causes a full load. There is also a bug with sound operation that occurs on some sites when the user changes the gent and other unexplained factors. I don't know if it's in the original versions of Pale Moon and Basilisk.

I will not name the date exactly, but the version with normal VK operation without the error "Do not read memory" was released in the first decade of the month. I would still use it, but one of the sites through which I make non-cash payments does not work correctly in it. Edited October 13 by Slavich

The answer is very simple. You don't have to help those types. It's more of a waste of time. And I also don't believe that old browser versions from 2022 work better with YouTube today than the current ones. YouTube has permanently changed for the worse. Even an old cucumber doesn't really help. 2
NotHereToPlayGames Posted October 13 Posted October 13 If you are interested in trying an even OLDER version, my PREFERRED version for NM28 dates all the way back to 2018 and it handles YouTube without any extensions taylored to "improve YouTube".
AstroSkipper Posted October 13 Posted October 13 A RAM consumption of round about 700 MB for only one YouTube video? 3
NotHereToPlayGames Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) It hasn't been rebased. Rebasing wasn't a thing back when I used NM27 and NM28. Technically, nowadays I am in the camp where ALL of these UXP-Based browsers are nothing but a "trip down memory lane" and NOT TO BE USED FOR "EVERYDAY BROWSING". Yeah, they're "fun" to have around. But so is a fish tank with a piranha. Here is with only the xul.dll rebased. NOT MUCH BETTER in my opinion. I no longer use UXP and no longer use XP - but this is MSFN and we're all supposed to be diehard XP fans for the next thirty years - sorry, NOT ME, "been there, done that". I found this version on CD-R. I made a mistake with the year. August 2023: https://www.mediafire.com/file/uwf0iu4fuu11b4g/Pale_Moon.rar/file And Instagram videos could be watched if you put a user agent from Google Chrome. That's not going to work right now. In this version, VK runs without crashes and does not take up as much CPU resources as the latest versions of NM 28. YT also consumed less CPU resources. You can't go from VK to another site in the latest versions. NM freezes dead. Edited October 13 by Slavich
NotHereToPlayGames Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) I have NO CLUE what "VK" is. Never heard of it. To me, it sounds like a drunken way of slurring out the word "vodka". I downloaded your mediafire version and it is BY FAR THE BEST that I have seen for a NM28+YouTube. NO EXTENSION OR SCRIPT monkey business and YouTube is at SINGLE-DIGIT CPU. This was the first project of Pavel Durov, the creator of Telegrams, which he had to sell to a pro-Putin businessman under pressure from the Russian authorities, and emigrate from Russia himself.

I remember when I use to be able to load YouTube in ~200 MB RAM including K-Meleon 76.1 Goanna, and ~250-400 MB after the switch to the "Polymer" UI. What caused RAM usage to increase to > 600 MB? I also noticed YouTube has much higher CPU consumption than it did 4 years ago. 1
NotHereToPlayGames Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Disable the CHAT SH#T. Why does YouTube need a "chat" feature?
Leokids123 Posted October 15 Posted October 15 On Serpent 52,current build,Scratch 3.0 has the white screen on the screen that's supposed to be displayed the project display. Can you fix it? I'm using SwiftShader DX9 3.0 ReactOS no logo.
