That's why I tested IceDove, but it doesn't support OAuth2 or authentication by app password which means no access to Gmail by this email client. That is a pity and therefore not an option for me. But another candidate has long since appeared on the horizon that meets and even exceeds all my requirements. And that is @roytam1's email client MailNews, which is ultimately based on Thunderbird 52. This email client has a real, working Oauth2 protocol that makes accessing Gmail easy. For me, simply perfect and the best choice for Windows XP at the moment.. More about that in the next days! Cheers, AstroSkipper @roytam1! MailNews is a great email client and works perfectly with all of my email providers. It is exactly what I need to manage my email accounts under Windows XP. And the fact that it is based on Thunderbird 52 is even better. Thunderbird is very well documented and supports my beloved, legacy extensions, and additionally complete themes, dictionaries, search engines and so on. Thanks a lot for that! The reason why I'm getting a dependency on the "auto" C++ keyword is because BluetoothTypes.cpp is generated by "ipc/ipdl/ipdl/cxx/cgen.py", and there is code that states to write the auto keyword in place of other more appropriate keywords/declarations/operators if compiled on an MSVC version greater than 8. Since Visual C++ 2008 is major version 9 and doesn't support the "auto" C++ keyword, msvcver > 8 needs to be bumped to msvcver > 9. if md.ret: if md.only_for_definition and msvcver > 9: self.write('auto ') else: md.ret.accept(self) self.println() self.printdent() if md.typeop is not None: self.write('operator ') md.typeop.accept(self) else: self.write(md.name) I have opened a pull request on your GitHub "gecko28a1-vc8-master" repository to bump the msvcver version in cgen.py, and lower.py to > 9. 1

UCyborg Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Adding to @VistaLover's thoughts on off-topic, sometimes there are posts that are related in a way to the browsers, eg. extensions' specifics, which would probably be better off in separate topic for organization's sake. But I get it's convenient to just post here. By the way, YouTube still functions in vanilla Chromium 55, this version is from December 2016, at least as far as playback goes. The reason for me pointing out this particular version is that I simply had that version installed on the laptop with the old Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installation, which I haven't used in a long time. 2

AstroSkipper Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 @roytam1! In your first post of this thread, you referenced to your support thread on the eclipse forum. The provided link https://forum.eclipse.cx/viewforum.php?f=33 doesn't work, as this internet address doesn't exist anymore. After a bit research, I found your support thread under the new address https://board.eclipse.cx/viewforum.php?f=33. If I am right, this link needs an update. 5
DanR20 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Still enjoying these older versions but sadly more sites refuse to render, especially bill-paying ones that require signing in such as these two: https://www.nationalgridus.com/Default.aspx https://www.spectrum.com/ Some other sites won't direct properly and you just get a message like this: "The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." What is the procedure for reporting, should we go to the Pale Moon website or file a bug? They complain over there if you mention any of these builds but Pale Moon isn't rendering these pages either.

After a bit research, I found your support thread under the new address https://board.eclipse.cx/viewforum.php?f=33. If I am right, this link needs an update. It seems there's no need to update the link, since clicking the old link now redirects to the new address. Edited February 18, 2023 by mina7601 2

I assume, @roytam1 updated the link in the form of a redirect, presumably to avoid having to manually change all existing links. This is an update, anyways. 1
Mathwiz Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Last month I mentioned that developer website Proofhub.com (not to be confused with Pornhub) had quit working with Serpent as of the 12/24 update. I'm happy to report that the 2/9 update does work with Proofhub. I didn't try to find out which version fixed the breakage, but in any case, the breakage was only temporary. 3 hours ago, AstroSkipper said: I assume, @roytam1 updated the link in the form of a redirect Or eclipse.cx did. They complain over there if you mention any of these builds but Pale Moon isn't rendering these pages either. Yes, Spectrum hasn't worked in some time. I always have to fall back to 360EE to access their site. (Although for bill payment, I rely on an amazing service called the "US Postal Service." It does cost me an extra $0.60 and a trip down my front sidewalk each month, though.) At any rate, if official PM running on a supported OS (Win 7+) doesn't work, you should report the issue to them. Just don't mention "New Moon" or "XP." Keep in mind there may not be much they can do, though; a lot of these breakages relate to recent changes to CSS or JavaScript that are often very hard to implement in older browser platforms like UXP. 1

However, looking back at all this, the "decision" of one member here to "shorten" (in order to "sanitise") a reference to a, otherwise popular , website has led to so many additional posts by other members here, including me, that only remotely (if at all) touch the subject of this thread ... Posts "exploded" to all aspects of human endeavour, i.e. natural sciences, history, linguistics, particular aspects of specific languages, education, Roman numerals, coins, ethics/morality, psychic health, addictions, human relationships/[pre-]sex, anything else I neglected? Even suggestions to not "avalanche" to further OT posts were disregarded, it appears... Each and every one of the above is a very interesting topic to converse about , however I humbly think here is not the most appropriate "place"; I, as much as anybody, can live with "a few" OT comments among a majority of posts with substance/relevance to the main subject(s) discussed in a dedicated thread; more than "a few" and I picture "trains de-railed" ... At the same time, some members here wonder why "these" threads reach so quickly the 200-page threshold ... (I'm also subscribed to these threads via e-mail notifications, "OT" posts also cram my inbox (and disk space, as I use a dedicated client, not webmail), so even more personal time needed to devote on sorting out the "valuable" from the "OT" e-mails...) Again, this is only my personal view on things, I don't expect all the rest to abide by it, but I'm entitled to it, aren't I? (NB: Don't do it; don't start another "OT avalanche" due to this post of mine; "reactions" (positive, only) are there for a reason.) That evokes my recommendation of newsgroup (whether Usenet or not) for discussing purpose. Instead of "linear" presenting of posts in most web forum, it has real threading of tree structure. I can omit OT sub-thread with a single key in TB. It would be great if MSFN could do a newsgroup bridge to web forum, but threading would be a problem, not only on server's coding side, but also most web users have no idea of it.
