Well Virtual PC is free so that is recommended. That VMWare Player is questionable, I think it needs an image to play for free, not sure.

First time when I tried the guide my WIM was unusable as well. Then I did it from XP on C partition, Vista on D. Capturing that D from XP worked fine. All in virtual machine with 2 disks.

I agree that it is fat, thus vLite. But I like Vista, it has an advancement here and there, bugs that annoyed me are fixed, since my install is lite I have no complaint. Thing is people in general like more stuff thrown at it, only more experienced users like their environment clean and they will add apps as needed.

Worf, I now tried that preset and the Tour was removed, no popup. Can you retry, maybe it was unselected somehow?

Are you sure that your uxtheme was clean/not patched before you used nLite? Maybe you used some addon which has the file in it, some update pack? XP SP2 uxtheme patch works fine, I doubt that Dutch is different than English one...even so it should work.

Don't believe everything you read. If you found the issue then use nLite to integrate, there is nothing wrong with it, quite the contrary.

You probably have 64bit version when it is so difficult to go below 5gb? There is component size info in the upper right so there is no issue with deciding on your own what is biggest. Ultimate/Home edition should not be that different, but 32bit/64bit is almost double. Try removing more languages, if you need just Simplified Chinese then remove Traditional (let me know if that causes issues). Hibernate option is in Tweaks page, enable it in the Tasks.

Could be compatibility issue, or burn speed. If you have RW to test then try with lower speed. Otherwise make ISO and burn with some other program after vLite made the ISO. If that fails again then remove any non-standard folders and files from the ISO root folder before making ISO with vLite.

Hm, this isn't something common. Could be extract file glitch then the handle keeps the file taken. Have you tried recopying clean installation files in the new folder, to start from scratch? Also try removing read-only attributes for the whole folder with subfolders and files. And make sure that NTFS permissions are not tampered with. You did say without background apps, but just to make sure that means you tried without an antivirus if there is any? Correcting English lingo glitches would be welcomed. The file you would need is in nlite\lang\translation.txt. Then you can send me the corrected one which I would compare and update the changes in the program.

It is MS problem but it makes it everyones problem. Comodo can do a bypass which I linked on my site.

That second part about Media Center and upnp is what interested me, I understood at first that you cannot access the shares manually. Probably reinstall is due, attach your preset to see what was removed in the first place. There is no i386 folder on the second cd as far as I know. Main point here is the CMPNENTS folder from the second CD.

All your issues will go away once you copy the second CD over the same folder where the first CD is copied, prior using nLite. Then make ISO which contains both in it. If the CD is too small burn DVD image.

What do you mean you need Network Discovery to access NAS? That does not sound right, ND is for you to be accessible, all you need to access the NAS is Network Explorer (and TCP/IP netbios helper to make it easier).

I use it as well and it does not break. BUT it is because of Defense+, just answer Simple Firewall on install or disable Defense+ in the options (there is total disable option, requires restart). Now funny thing is it works for me even when enabled, maybe because I am on Vista SP1 or using updated controls for vLite, out in next update.

Another WAIK script. Btw do you have a SmartWim license? And I am not sure you can distribute MS EXE files.
