Your install failed so nLite.inf was never executed. So ignore all the issues you got, they will all be solved once you figure out why you have those errors in the log. First remake your ISO from the clean XP installation files using nLite 1.4.5 beta. If the outcome is the same (test in virtual PC) then attach your preset (last session.ini from the CD).

I could say sure, why not, my XP ISO is around 90MB when nLited and all that I need works. But the key is "all that I need". So if some of your programs does not work it is not "unstable" like some rocking boat, it is just missing a dependency and be sure to report here. Have fun, delay your activation until you are sure that the Windows are a keeper. Also test it in the Virtual PC as well before installing.

Be sure to use 32bit Vista because it is a lot smaller and check your pagefile size after install to free up some space, but be careful with that. Check the component sizes in vLite on the right and select all the big ones, then gradually select the smaller ones as well if you think you will not need them. Make Virtual machine with 8GB of space and test your ISO.

vLite provides you with the option to select for removal those components that are in the program files (check which yourself, for example Photo Gallery), but it does not have an option to just remove 32bit version of the component. Something like that was thought about but it looks like we are far away from the 64bit applications, very rare ones are available in that form so if you need program files\component then you need 32bit.

grundthal, hm. I have not changed anything regarding that, be sure to attach your preset used, could be some update pack issue. Also make sure to use clean XP installation files, slipstream SP3 and use that.

GrofLuigi, if you have USB issue then I presume you just used nLite to integrate drivers? If that is the case then it is fixed in next version, hopefully, be sure to let me know.

Some users reported issue with integrating lang pack via vLite, gotta check and fix that. However it works if you select that integrated language and not the old one, as far as I understood the reports. Regarding removals you can remove whatever you want. Of course don't remove language which you integrate.

Basically if you do not use Access or you can remove it. VS doesn't use it as far as I know with my minimal install.

1. yes 2. sfc_os is the main one for the asked patch. Sfcfiles for cosmetics and syssetup is reserved for removals and other heavy editing, not required for the SFC patch. nlite patches all 3, I could check if it is possible to skip syssetup patching when only SFC patch is selected if you care about that, that is one of the old parts of nLite which I haven't look in years and basically one who disables SFC probably does more anyway. 3. it is the same of course

Move IE7 after all those hotfixes because some of them are probably for IE6 so you overwrite with older files. Let them be sorted like this at the bottom of the list, below all the KB* files: WindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-ENU.exe WindowsMedia6-KB925398-v2-x86-ENU.exe WindowsMedia11-KB936782-x86-ENU.exe IE7-WindowsXP-KB944533-x86-ENU.exe Note how WindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-ENU.exe is infront of wm6 and 11. Also see if you need all three, maybe you just need to integrate WMP11 and WM11.

IE8 integration support will be in the next version if no issues occurs, current one can not integrate it.
