nLite Setup for XP on a Vista Machine?
It will work, it even warns for UAC on its own. No need for compat mode.

nLite hangs up
Antivirus. sidonath, that is weird...can I somehow test that, which exact setting do you change?

vLite v1.1.6 beta 2 - SP Slipstream
Niko76, try beta 2. sp00f, extract and integrate individual kbs. Disabling all else is normal, because slipstream must be done first and only that. Then after it is done it will reenable. csci1000, did you have at least back and tasks on the left enabled? Also did the version refresh itself to the new 18000 build?

vLite run against already installed Vista
Yeah. By manual install I presume you meant a boot as well, not just setup.exe

Vista ultimate SP1 slipstream & 4gig ram issue?
Confirmed that the fix works in x86. Seems like my "hack" does not work for x64. I would adjust and fix that if I had that issue for a few trials. My 64bit machine with 4GB of RAM is working fine, unfortunately. Some guy said that it helps him in x64 as well...but that I did not buy since I got at least 5 responses that it does not help in x64.

vLite run against already installed Vista
Only image. Hypothetically it could be possible to capture your install into an image from another OS, configure and reinstall.

Vista ultimate SP1 slipstream & 4gig ram issue?
Hm, it shouldn't make any difference since slipstream does not change the boot image, all depends when your install fails with 4GB. If it fails at the last step then it could help, if it fails after selecting partition before next reboot then doubtful that it will help. Maybe WheelieUK has MS preintegrated SP1 which has boot image updated as well.

Using Recovery CD
Good. Move all those BASE files to SOURCES folder. And rename accordingly: BASE.WIM -> INSTALL.SWM BASE2.WIM -> INSTALL2.SWM BASE3.WIM -> INSTALL3.SWM BASE4.WIM -> INSTALL4.SWM Then browse with vLite to the root and it will popup to merge CDs. It can get tricky since it was not made for such acrobatic operations but it should be possible. Let me know how it goes.

Unattended Refresh rate setup, Vista!
You can try removing all display drivers and don't integrate your new ones. Then after install see if maybe it doesn't switch blindly to higher refresh rate. If that doesn't help try WAIK (google it) from MS and edit Autounattend.xml file in the root after vLite but before you make ISO. Search in WAIK display refresh (I haven't tried that).

Using Recovery CD
Depends what kind of files are those WIMs, are you sure that they are now SWM files? Can you post file names and locations in the dvd of the biggest files and similar small ones to them. For exmple if there is HP.SWM, HP2.SWM...

Vlite 1.1.6 and Vista SP1
Volatus, yup, but it is my thing to take care of because SP1 adds more queued operations during setup.

iTunes won't start on nlited XP Pro SP2
in_flight, you can find them on your full Windows CD. Extract them with Winrar or something if the file ends with '_'. Also maybe some are in the i386\drivers.cab, or sp1/2.cab

Vlite 1.1.6 and Vista SP1
Current version works fine with the preintegrated SP1 removals. And of course report if there is something fishy.
-
vlite+language integration
Yes you need 64bit host, meaning that vLite must be started under 64bit Windows.

Illustrated German Vista SP1-Integration HowTo
Cool. Just 2 notes. Pictures can't be seen without forum logon. And warn them to wait 1.1.6 beta 2 because of important fixes.

Slipstream SP1 fails
Tharon, there is nothing unstable about it, only issue is after slipstreamed install, not the slipstream itself. Issues are with XP or if your Windows Update is bugged, but that is Windows issue.
-
vLite v1.1.6 beta 2 - SP Slipstream
Rebuild All is an overkill, just Rebuild single selected version where the SP is slipstreamed. And wait beta 2.

Slipstream SP1 fails
ScOOt3r, fixing that, beta 2 out today, check the website. Btw don't talk about warez even if you have original at home.

vLite v1.1.6 beta 2 - SP Slipstream
KevinN206, fixing. Stated on the website all the issues and limitations, beta 2 out today.

vLite v1.1.6 beta 2 - SP Slipstream
ShahinD, well it is integrated as a hotfix, if it fails you will know. You can compare file versions if you want. Found some issues with it though, posted on the website, fixing. Yes those are integrated as well. You can see that by browsing with vLite and check the integration-hotfixes-already integrated after slipstream.

Running nLite w/o .NET Framework 2.0
What message does the full .NET Framework 2.0 popups when you try to install it?

Slipstream SP1 fails
smsc, for now only these 5 languages are supported by SP1: English (US), French, German, Japanese, or Spanish (Traditional) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...ckInfoContainer Tharon, which is your Vista language? Also that last entry, is that Vista or SP1 version/filename?
-
Slipstream SP1 fails
Have you tried rebooting? Got your SP from MS site, latest, build 18000/18040? Also which exact Vista version is that (vLite displays on browse), including language?
-
Vlite 1.1.6 and Vista SP1
Yes but for now do not remove anything, I am working on a fix. Slipstreamed SP adds some entries which are processed on first logon and now I got to adjust the removals to clean those. So in essence you can use slipstream, unattended, tweaks, integrations...but avoid removals if you slipstreamed sp1 until I post a beta 2. Removals work fine on preintegrated or captured sp1 image.

Running nLite w/o .NET Framework 2.0
Did you try to reboot at least once and then retry? Do you have admin privileges?
