  1. Try some of these, it may be different in Vista, also with 7zip you can extract files from full Vista if needed: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840686 I tried your preset and Router service started and stopped, as always, no error. On my almost all removed it said that needed service is missing.
  2. Weird, that error says bad format. No clue for now.

    vlite & sp1 options

    1. not possible 2. yes, either get preintegrated or slipstream/capture yourself. v1.1.6beta2 works fine even with removals.
  4. You answered yourself, don't remove IE if you use IE.
  5. XP SP2 is required. That error is clear but I don't like that it is so ugly, gonna check if maybe it works after that is skipped. Thx.
  6. Just component removals are not supported.
  7. And what is the issue so that I can test? Missing Movie Maker after Slipstream? Are you sure that you didn't select a wrong Vista version during those operations, if some edition doesn't have Movie Maker, not sure.
  8. Check if you have Windows Image Acquisition, for example: Windows\System32\wiaservc.dll It is needed for cameras as stated in the description. Maybe you hide it with compatibility option, your screenshot shows 6 hidden components.

    BSoD of ntfs.sys

It is NTFS + WIM filter issue. Uninstall all antivirus programs or process protections (like Defense+ from Comodo). Reboot and it will work. Disable is not the same as uninstall.
  10. I think this is fixed in next one, crash during Applying. Thx for reporting.
  11. Create some new folder on your hard disk and then manually with Explorer copy the whole DVD into that folder. Then browse with vLite to that folder. If Explorer reports file copy issue then your DVD is broken. You can skip all man files if you just boot from DVD, use Explorer for copy then vLite will not abort when it sees less files.

    Attn: Nuhi

Maybe it got corrupted. If you find the will try recopying clean DVD, slipstream. Backup that. Then configure and test in virtual pc. Instead of 'Rebuild All' 'Rebuile One' is better since all you need is that one slipstreamed version. If it fails again then test just slipstreamed without any config (just enable create iso page). If that works attach your failed preset and I will try it.

    MaximumPC, June 2008

He meant I will be astonished. Thx for the news.
  14. First check your WMI and WU services, also don't disable any services manually. Then compress and attach the c:\windows\WindowsUpdate.log file. Thx.
  15. Fixed in next one: http://www.msfn.org/board/vLite-crash-appl...gs-t115131.html

    validation failed

It is not your fault, that burn engine sometimes bugs out. Please just make ISO with vLite and burn the image with some other tool like ImgBurn or Nero (recorder-burn image option).

    vliting for home pc

There is not much to say. Browse to the DVD, follow instructions and select what you want removed. If you are not comfortable with reinstalling the OS then maybe vLite isn't for you just yet.
  18. Yeah more like half of them.
  19. I did experience a crash as well on the RTM version, without SP1, and fixed it. Still waiting for his results.
  20. It could be the Modem support. If you did not remove it then please attach the preset.
  21. Does the same as Control Panel - Features - uncheck Extras. It is probably the ability to see the Extras on the Windows Update, it will not scan what you integrated. Are you saying that you have Dreamscene on WU and not the others? I believe that Dreamscene was recently allowed for all versions.
  22. leventpekcan, thanks, will check.

    help please

They must be uninstalled, not just disabled, and reset the machine. If you use Comodo firewall make sure to disable Defense+ completely (in advanced options or when installing answer just basic firewall without leak protection).
  24. No. But the good news is that you can integrate it with the new vLite, and configure if needed.
  25. You are abusing the freedom of speech to offend us. Your lame ways are over, cya.
