  1. Oook people. I said I will adjust, it is really not a problem. I don't feel 100% responsible because the user did not know what the nLite is before using it. But still many newcomers select Windows folder and they get the popup telling them that they need installation files. In this case it passed that check, first time ever. Gonna lock this now, thank you for defending me but it was kinda an overkill.
  2. Did that Firefox downloaded version had a same icon and size as the working one? Could be the referer protection issue on the download page.
  3. Oh ok I think I know what it is, gonna fix. Meanwhile you might be trying to browse to the DVD which is already vLited with another region standards (date format is different).
  4. Huh, can you please redownload it but try from other mirrors as well, maybe it is just corrupted? (also try selfextracting version, that will definitely work)
  5. It just rebuilds image indexes so the same files are used once and the old ones are deleted. So you did change only the selected version but others would be reindexed and thus in total possibly smaller. I say possibly because other versions are still RTM and the new one is SP1 so they cannot share the same indexes. Still it can help to remove some of the no more used stuff from selected RTM which isn't in other versions. Basically Rebuild One is recommended.
  6. After the slipstream just think like you would if you browsed to the new distribution. So just go to the Tasks page and select what you want, excluding Slipstream.
  7. I did think so but Outlook works fine. So maybe you are just missing the Usenet support and that is it, Outlook will work.
  8. true, ok.
  9. It is dynamic, it checks for needed size depending on the image size and pagefile projection (i guess), so it is recommended to keep it as it is. It will not ask you to keep the same amount as the full Vista would if you remove something.
  10. First check if you used beta 2 or the first beta.
  11. Tylius, try once without unattended settings (delete autounattend.xml and just remake ISO, no need to process again).
  12. MsFanboy, fishing, sports...for me that is far from fun. Obviously we don't share the same views, to put it mildly. Btw you can attract attention on some fishing forum with something productive, don't be a troll.
  13. This would be new: http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&field-...rch-alias%3Daps But it is not worth it if you already own Vista, this is where the real affordable thing should appear: http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/content....404&tabid=1
  14. No never heard of it. If you have a some sort of desktop search indexing app or antivirus resident protection try tampering with those. Also if you use a firewall with process protection like for example Comodo with Defense+ and maybe the process protections are setup too tightly (blocking some basic services). Just guessing.
  15. Here is more info: http://www.vlite.net/help/slipstream.html Basically select SP, after the slipstream is done just enable ISO page and make ISO. So no Apply at all. No need for Log. One important note would be that only selected version will be updated to SP1, you would need to go one by one and update as needed. Then after every would be recommended to Rebuild All to keep the size optimized.
  16. hellkiller, I said clean image, not already vLited. If that is all you have then it is illegal. Mikep7779, there is at MSDN download or order new DVD or contact your retailer for cheaper replacement solution.
  17. hellkiller, yeah uncheck the compatibilities to unhide needed components. (vLite) removed from the latest version, remake from your clean DVD/ISO.
  18. ScOOt3r & csci1000, glad to read that. hellkiller, in the Compatibility window, you can open it from within the Components page, toolbar on the bottom.

    Using Recovery CD

Oh, could be. Even though I am not familiar with any kind of encrypting. You did ok, nothing more we can do until someone finds the solution or I get my hands on those images.
  20. Ok, that gives me enough info to retry the check. Gonna be in a week, currently busy, so don't think that I am ignoring this. Of course post here if you find out which component in the meantime.
  21. How did you do that? There is no Windows Update removal in vLite 1.1.1 nor 1.1.6. Try Control Panel - Windows Update.
  22. qkiazd, could be wim filter issue. Running vLite should not cause anything, but that install on first popup could. Run vLite with /unwim switch to uninstall the driver when you want to test that theory.
  23. Will add this check, this is a serious problem. But not everyone has i386 folder in their Windows folder, I think manual SP install leaves that.

    Using Recovery CD

Copy the whole DVD into some new folder. Then inside it there are BASE and SOURCES subfolders. Now read my previous message. After that browse with vLite to the root, to the new folder into which you copied this DVD in the first place. Do not edit the boot.wim, it is required to be as it is.
  25. I did not read this thread in detail because nLite does not touch the Windows on which it runs. Only occasion where it uses the registry is during SATA driver integration, but it is just a temporary entry created and removed. So if you experience something like that again and you isolate it down to nLite let me know, but I highly doubt it. Could be that your machine overheated or hdd got corrupted.
