  1. I will test this when the time comes, thx for reporting. The components you listed as kept were the only ones I know as possible to cause this, meaning we might have another one unexpectedly.

anonymous_user, please recreate the button as tain suggested, it shouldn't be a problem.
  3. Well I would guess Dynamic Volume manager as well, but it is not really clear if you said that when kept it worked. I have saved this report for checking, let me know if you confirm that it is Dynamic Volume manager.
  4. Well, it is time for a new branch, 1.2, so it will take some time to throw in as much as possible. 2-3 weeks probably, if not more, depends on nLite as well. Use 1.1.1 then later jump in for 1.2 RC or final.

    Can I Remove This?

Oh I did miss that one. Lets try again If I am going to use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 can I remove the Windows Mail or no? No. If I remove MSN Installer will I be able to download it and install the Windows Live Messenger? Yes. Can I remove Task Scheduler? I’ve never used that before. Yes. But read the description...for example it is needed for Windows Defrag. Not 3rd party defrag tools of course. I use JKDefrag. Can I remove Microsoft Agent? Or windows need it? Yes. No. Can I remove Malicious Software removal tool and Windows Defender? And what is the Malicious Software removal tool? Yes. Google. BUG REPORT True, getting those lately more and more...unfortunately I was not able to get the same issue but I will try more combinations. I hope it is my mistake and not Windows. They released a hotfix for language pack installation failures but after install, I wonder if that applied to the install as well.
  7. You mean the LocalSessionManager Event Log report? I tried this now and unfortunately it did not solve that one. In case you do not see it immediately you have to wait 10 min. Btw gonna keep this cleaned anyway, nice catch. I am quite cautions when it comes to the Terminal Server in Vista, it is used for the local user session as well...as far as I know.

    Can I Remove This?

No. Yes. Yes. No. Yes. Google. Remove whatever you want and test it for a week, do not activate until you are sure, there is a 30 days trial. No one will be hurt if you reinstall again in a week.
  9. underxp, cool. kunal2sh, hm...do you have any other .net apps to test on, please try http://www.getpaint.net/download.html#Download Let me know if it works. Also just to get the obvious out of the way redownload vLite installer and (re)install it, especially if you used selfextracting version and maybe skipped a few files.

    Help.

The display driver has to be installed which supports Aero Glass. That is not possible in the Virtual Machine. If you kept DWM and Aero then it is the Windows matter, not a vlite's fault.
  11. Did you use .net 2.0 Lite or full one from the Microsoft site? Btw uninstall all .net frameworks, reboot and install this one (2.0 sp1): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en If it helps let me know and I will update links on the site to this SP1 version.
  12. Tried now CPL All-in-One v8.1.1 in SP3, integrated with nlite 1.4.1 and it works fine. If you have some specific scenario that you have confirmed that fails please let me know how.
  13. Please provide a link to the exact driver and tell me which ID did you choose on Textmode popup?
  14. Ok, saved for checking, thx.
  15. When I try to start that service it also says It started and stopped, some services do that. So you are saying that in full Vista it stays started? So? Maybe some other service is keeping it running. Do you have any issues because of this?

  17. coleoptere2007, thx for reporting, gonna check that.
  18. Cloaky, that is right. And it would be best to set VMWare to use IDE drives and remove LSI Logic.
  19. Wurrtrak, WLAN Support, Network Center, Network Location Awareness, Network List. Those last 3 are to be on the safe side, probably some will argue that they are not needed. Cloaky, keep the one that your real motherboard uses. See which chipset it is and keep that brand.

    compile error

This was mentioned million times, it is antivirus/firewall with process protection issue with the WIM filter, MS bug. http://www.vlite.net/archive.html
  21. You had some installed application issue or something, never seen that. Also update all your drivers, chipset, hdd controller. Svchost taking so much is Superfetch service, full vista has it as well. Enable it and let it for a few days to collect cache.

    How to apply XP SP3

Download SP3 final version when available, install it, enjoy. When you want to reinstall your OS, slipstream it with nLite to your XP CD. Just select Slipstream and Bootable ISO pages in nLite if you do not want any changes except slipstream.
  23. If you think on nLite silent switch then explore nlite /?
  24. Never heard of nLite messing up PS/2 port, check your BIOS settings if there is PS/2 mouse support enabler. Or switch to USB mouse.
  25. Just select Ethernet DHCP compatibility and it will hide those components.
