  1. Nice ones, I liked the one about letting the boss have the first say because that's exactly the situation in my office: my boss always has the first say whereas I have the last B)
  2. By makong them log in to that specific machine, not into the domain.
  3. On the cd that camew with your mobo, look for a folder called MSHQDFE (or something ) and run the setup in there. After that run the setup package for the audio driver.
  4. Not sure about xp home edition, but does your account have administrative rights?
  5. I have a couple of friends in Omaha too Welcome!
  6. I am using BorgChat. Neat, easy on resources, plenty of options.
  7. That's because your processor's FSB (Front Side Bus) is 266MHz, raising it on the motherboard to 200MHz will shoot up the FSB on the processor to 400MHz, value unsupported by the CPU. So I'd leave it to 133 on the mobo. As for the BSOD, as ripken said, please give us the error code.
  8. Can you still manually rename them? Or will you get errors?
  9. It's all in the registry under HKLM.
  10. Make sure they aren't read-only.
  11. Google?
  12. @ripken204 nVIDIA's setup is way simplier than ATI's. And he's using an ATI card. I found Catalyst a bit more tricky than Forceware, but that's probably because I live in Europe and when plugging the TV, Catalyst must be set to the appropriate TV system (PAL or SECAM) as its defaults are NTSC.
  13. Then it's due to how windows handles removable storage devices. I'd check for viruses / malware the pc first then try to troubleshoot this issue.
  14. It's because x64 creates a Program Files AND a Program Files x86 (or x32 can't remember right now). The application looks for that .dll in Program Files but since the software is 32-bit, Windows puts it in Program Files x86 (or x32).
  15. Yep, that's why I set up my server in raid 1 B)
  16. Even better, you can force the shutdown via "shutdown /f" command line.
  17. Do you experience power outages?
  18. It has nothing to do with the drivers. The problem is that your pc doesn't detect the file system present on your USB devices.
  19. Do they show up in Device Manager? If yes, then go into their properties and under Volumes click Populate.
  20. it isn't ripken. I'll put in a pm the way and if it's not against the rules here, please share.
  21. Try to degauss the tube (not sure if you have that option in the monitor menu), but get another one, this won't last much longer.
  22. Yeah, that and a bit of fiddling around with the Catalyst...
  23. I think the OS has to recognize both cores first of all, which 98 doesn't...
  24. First off, we need to identify why it is shooting your CPU usage to 100%. Please give us some details of your pc (mobo, cpu, ram, etc.)
