RP9.0.4 works fine on my Windows ME VM

definately sounds like something like drivers, it didnt take 5-10 minutes to boot up on a celeron 1.3ghz that i installed it on for a few minutes just for fun

perhaps it would be easier to copy the WIN95 directory to C:\ and install it from there otherwise sounds like you have to edit the contents of the ISO file with somethine probably could use winrar or something just as long as you dont break the bootsector

no thats not what i meant, ive been happily patching stuff like telnet.exe, systray.exe, setupapi.dll and they work fine because they are in %windir% and %windir%\system. its stuff thats in program files that i couldnt patch

ive been playing with the icon patching and works well, though not quite sure about 16bit stuff maybe im just not looking at the right files. also i cant see a way to patch stuff like mspaint.exe,wmplayer.exe,hypertrm.exe because they live in program files instead of %windir% or %windir%\system or is it a path thing?

I tried it in a vm and works well also in RPCONFIG the is an option to Show transparent desktop icon labels.

would be useful to know what dlls and vxds they are. when you do the install do you create a partition with fdisk then format C: then do you copy the WIN95 directory to C:\WIN95 or do you just install off the cd?

just tested msn5 on an nt4 vm and it indeed does tell you to upgrade

2000 does have balloons but its not really essential to have skinned balloons

if your going to have the graphical transformation its going to have to modify system files however vista transformation pack does include a lot of bloat and should be steered clear of. the problem with a skin pack for 2k is what skining engine are you going to use? tclock, windows blinds...?

im gonna take a guess and say that directx might not be in it

hmm at first i was annoyed at the lack of classic start menu but from useing win7 a bit i dont dislike it as much and i do actually like the search. though i do agree i would like to see an option that would see "all programs" directly when u press win key

or perhaps an ATI Radeon 4670, thats can be a small card (though the MSI and Palit ones take 2 slots i think) which doesnt require extra power from the psu, also it is a better card then the Geforce 9500

instead of using %~dp0 you could use %0\..\ which seemed to work when i tried it however i should check the newer version

he hasnt actually said what motherboard he has 98 may not like being on partition D: if im dual booting 98 and xp id install 98 first to C: and then xp on another partition of a different drive letter and it should work just fine. Booting of a floppy will work but only really worth while if you can find a decent floppy and its much easier to be able to have a boot menu
