MagicISO is my personal favourite. Its is basically identical to UltraISO but with a few more added features. the main one being able to handle vcd/svcd images.UltraISO refuses to burn for some strange reason.

Opera is now entirely ad free. It has also been said in many articles that operas market share is rapidly growing and is nearly on level pegging terms with FF. there were over 1 Million downloads in the first 2 days it was made entirely free. I also think that there are many people out there who use opera but have it set to identify as Internet Explorer, thus making it alot harder to actually identify how many people are actually using it. FF and Opera are both excellent browsers and are far better alternatives to IE. Yes IE does get targeted the most due to the fact that it is shipped with windows. If IE wasnt shipped with windows and was an optional download i can gaurantee that it would be very lucky to even hold 10% market share. I have also had friends who have been using IE get infected by virus's simply by clicking links on webpages, now tell me thats not a big problem. Also i have tested out IE7 Beta 1 and i must say although the tabbed feature of it is worthwhile the rest of it is a complete disaster, whoever came up with the new design layout should be shot.

maybe instead of using the horrible Remote Desktop Feature of XP you could instead use something like UltraVNC or TightVNC. both are alot more secure and have alot more features to play with. Just a suggestion.

ill have a crack at making some tomorrow although i doubt they will be all that great. any particular size you want them ? and nice site by the way.

actually youll find opera is the most secure browser, also the fastest too. and uses far less resources. firefox is a good browser no doubt but it has many security flaws in it, ive seen quite a few ppl using firefox get there browser hijacked from dodgy sites theyve visited whereas ive not heard of one case of an opera user being hijacked.

depends what you mean by similar forum. if you download a forum board, eg phpbb, invision powerboard, vbulletin and then find a free host that has php support. then just upload your board and configure it and away you go. a good host is www.funpic.org

i have also mentioned it to the opera staff on their forum. im not sure what theyre doing about it but hopefully it will be resolved soon as it is a giant pain in the a**.

agreed. the DHT and RSS are the only two things that i can think of that i would like to see built in. apart from that some general touch ups and improvements on the core and it will be everything you would need.

downloaded a few 4gb torrents with it and not one problem. there was one slight bug with the file priority section but thats been fixed in 1.1.3. Overall i could see it becoming a very popular BT client providing development continues at a steady pace. even better would be if they made it open source so that a few other good coders can start work on getting DHT and maybe an RSS reader built in.

Im very impressed with uTorrent. the first couple of released did have some major bugs but it seems to have come along way in a short time. theres only a couple more features that i would like included to make it perfect, the DHT being the main one. Especially if it can support both BitComet and Azureus ways of doing it. just a shame the icon for it sucks. but that doesnt matter as i made one anyway which can be found Here

wow people desperate to get IE. i never thought i would see a day like this. the world must be coming to an end.

K-Lite Codec Pack imo is the best one out currently. although personally i dont use it anymore because VLC is just so much better than any codec pack.

theres a few ways of doing it. i do it by going to Start > Run > control userpasswords2 then just untick the box

i think an irc room would be very helpful indeed. its always nice to talk to someone in realtime when you have a problem.

Wasnt entirely sure what to call the thread. I was looking around on google earlier for an Xp Professional Box picture to use for my sysdm.cpl when i realized how crap it actually looked.so i made one up just for the hell of it when i got bored. ( as you can see i am not that great ) I then thought it would be something fun for ppl todo by coming up with there own one for Windows Vista so that it might help inspire the MS design team. you can do either flat images of the front of the box or if you are good with photoshop maybe coming up with a side shot of the box eg ill be looking forward to seeing ppls designs, if anyone decides to have a go

id still say Nlited XP. im running it now on my old pc aswell and thats a PIII 450 192mb ram and 4mb video card, it runs pretty much the same as on my Athlon 2000+ apart from abit slow when doing larger more cpu intensive things like compressing large files.

vlc wins hands down. never had a problem with it and has not been unable to play any file ive thrown at it. mpc ive had far to many problems with to use anymore.

Nero 6.6.0.16 is my favourite of the lot. Ive heard alot of rumours about Nero 7 being filled with alot of extra bloat so ill probably just stick with this one for now.
