    XPize Menu

Here is an XPized menu i made Using Autoplay Media Studio 5 Pro. the zip file contains both the completed Setup.exe and the source files. Enjoy Download Here
  2. Adobe Encore is really a excellent dvd authoring program, TMPGencs Dvd Authoring program is good if u want to make something plain and simple
  3. just like that, thanks alot much appreciated.
  4. Ok managed to sort that problem out now. next Q for anyoe that uses it. using Autoplay Media Studio 5 Pro i was wondering how i could on startup be able to determine the Cd Roms Drive letter that its in. so that i can use the Result in my Dialog Messages for when i file is missing . eg when u click on Install XP if the Winnt32.exe isnt there it displays the dialog saying WINNT32.EXE Was not found in folder <CDROM Driver Letter>\I386 Folder at the moment ive just got it to say WINNT32.EXE Was not found
  5. ok thats interesting i seem to be missing the setup file, i just have the cab file in the cmpnents\netfx\i386 folder. anyway i could fix this ? or replace it with the new .Net Framework
  6. Hi im building a new xp menu for my UACD but i cant seem to find what the Install .NET Framework button does on the Xp Menu, I have the Netfx.cab file located in the cmpnents\netfx\i386 folder but when i click the button it does absolutely nothing. i was hoping someone would be able to tell me what function the button actuallly does so that i could put it into my menu.
  7. simple answer, No. the best way of doing things nowdays is to look around or online for a dvd player that can play divx/xvid files. then u can cram a couple of movies onto 1 single 4.7gb dvd disk.
  8. many times when i removed windows media player from my xp cd music editing apps complained and wouldnt work due to no wmp, i tried leaving some crucial files in the instal and still no joy. its a real shame because i despise WMP with a passion
  9. ive been looking around but there doesnt seem to be any really clear guides on how todo any of it. just scraps of how todo tiny things or to use plugins.
  10. ive had a look around on barts site but its not very well layed out and is hard to find good useful information on how to get started.. just i saw SimonSays XPE cd that he made using BartPE and it inspired me to do one of my own. ill keep searching around for things
  11. ive just downloaded BartPE and UBCD4 Win. i have no idea what the difference between them apart from UBCD4 Win seems to have a whole load of extra plugins. i want to use explorer as my shell. currently all i have done is used the Ubcd4 win with BartPE and deselected all the plugins and copied the files. enabling me to start from scratch and build it from the ground up without the use of the built in plugins. this way i will be learning alot more along the way. i was hoping someone knows of some good guides of how i can get it up and running with an explorer shell. i dont have a VM at the moment so id be looking to boot it from HDD whilst testing . many thanks. also if anyone has any better ideas of if i should use BartPE or UBCD4 Win
  12. this subject is one i created a long time ago. it was for my menu that i created with AutoPlay Media Studio so that when you click make iso it would use CDIMAGE to create a copy of the cd and place it on the Harddrive in iso format.
  13. ive recently got the new version of winamp 5.1 surround sound edition. i have scanned the installation so that i have all the files and reg settings it uses. i was just wondering about a few of ( hope this is possible)
  14. thanks the batch file worked, i just had to make it -s -h. i did try that in cmd before but i was doing it attrib -s -h C:\windows\sytem32 but it didnt work
  15. dont use antivirus as ive never needed to. i killed the virus str8 away and removed all traces of it. i just cant seem to work out how to get the system32 folder back from having its attribs changed.

  17. if you check in the Unattended section there will be something about it there. its most likely in the reg tweaks part 3 download.
  18. i recently got the winupdate virus and although its a very easy virus to get of i cant seem to work out how to reset the properties of the System32 folder. i have tried going into its properties but when i get there the hidden checkbox is selected and disabled so im unable to unhide it again. i did try setting its attribs in cmd but that didnt seem to work either. was hoping someone else has any ideas of how to fix this.
  19. i think i might give this ago even though i am somewhat lacking in the artistic design area. i hope u get an Opera icon made Zxian as the current one sucks.
  20. i give it 2 days before theres one done.
  21. you could try asking xpero how he created his NSIS installer for XPize as that has the same effect by backing up and replacing the older ones with the modified ones.
  22. notepad 2 or UltraEdit 32 work great for me. i prefer UltraEdit as i use it for all types of coding.
  23. looks excellent. ive been looking for a good alternative to RunOnce and WPI thats not gonna take me hours to setup. also just wondering if it would be possible to customize the style of the box using the xml. eg putting a background image in, a Timer before install starts.

    2006

not really interested in what new software will be coming out in 06, but i am very interested to see the new AMD chips and how much more they are going to outperform Intel. It will also be interesting to see what ATI and Nvidia can come up with now that PCI-E 2 is on the near horizon.
  25. nLite is a windows installation reduction program, with it you can remove most of the useless junk thats not needed in your windows cd. thus making it install quicker and in nearly all cases the actual windows environment alot more stable. ive been using nlite for some time now and its by far the most useful program ive ever used. nuhi should be given a medal or something for it. check out the nLite forum along with www.unattended.msfn.org site. and oh yea my vote goes with longhorn. on a side note IceWM window manager for linux looks rather nice.
