i was wondering if there was a way that i could include my own Shell32.dll into my iso instead of the standard one.

i seem to be having a great deal of trouble replacing the Cd Drive icon. ive tried numerous programs that have all failed and even when i used res hacker and changed the shell32.dll the stupid ugly cd drive icon is still there instead of the one i want. all the other icons ive replaced work fine just not that one. many thanks. in advance

Hi i was just wondering. when i install professional notepad it adds Notepad in bold font to the top of the context menu which is very handy thing to have. thing is i dont want professional notepad was going to make a different installer to replace notepad with. ( yes i know i can put it in the cab instead ) i was just wondering if there was anyway i would be able todo the same thing with my installation. im sure one of u smart ppl will know so many thanks in advance

Yes if u use a program like Autoplay menu builder or Autorun pro and make ur own customized menu for it and then just replace the Setup.exe thats in the root of the cd. simple i have used Autoplay menu builder when making mine. very simple and effective. for creating standalone executable menus

i am having great difficulty making an installer to just overwrite notepad.exe in the windows directory with a better version of notepad and then add two registry keys ive tried inno setup but it doesnt seem to like overwriting the already installed one would someone be able to help me out with this. many thanks.

Hi i seem to be having alot of trouble, i have Professional notepad and cant seem to find a silent switch for its install so i want to make a new one with my registration info included. basically i need to append a .bak extension to the old notepad incase of uninstall and place the new notepad in its place and then add a couple of registry keys for registration. if anyone knows of how i can do this with what program. ps. i have little to no knowledge of making MSI's Ok seeing as no one has answered is there anyway i can just replace the notepad.exe and add two registry entries silently. i was thinking sfx but i dont know how i could add registry entries.

unfortunately im crap at image editing of any kind so i dont have a clue about alpha layers or layering of any kind. ill give old irfanview a try though and see if that works.

Professional Notepad i have found to be the best replacement for notepad. is has exactely the same gui and basically just adds a drop down box for syntax highlighting. Pro notepad all the way.

just tried it and it doesnt seem to be working. at the moment im using windows 2000 professional as my other pc is currently not working until i get the parts for it. any reason y the transparency magic pink isnt working on win2k
