this notepad is excellent piece of software. only problem is that when u open a txt file and then try to open another text file by double clicking it causes errors instead of just loading it into a new tab. really annoying bug if u ask me.

id have to agree with keytotime about the driver issues and linux, when i first got hold of linux after many hours spent downloading it on 56k i installed it only to realize that it didnt support the particular type of winmodem i had, i search high and low and it was impossible to find any drivers that would work for it ( i even asked in the IRC rooms but no joy ) i finally got my nice new dsl and i thought atlast i can finally get on the internet with linux, only to discover the piece of junk usb modem that comes for free with it wasnt compatible either. spent many hours trying to find compatible drivers for that also. Linux is a great OS but its just not functional for the modern day user who doesnt have time to search / compile / learn everything about it in order just to use it. In the end i got so pi**ed off not being able to use the internet on my linux system i went out and bought an ehternet card and router

download a handy program called resource hacker, resource hack the shell32 and explorer files changing the icons and bitmaps with ones of ur own chooseing then simply reboot the pc and rebuild the icon cache. when i get the time ill post my two.

Sounds about right for MS, unfortunately these days its a rare thing to find big corporations who actually care about their customers. As for uninstalling Server 2003, i dont know why you would want to go and do something like that. I find it to be an extremely stable OS and if something were to go wrong the crash recovery time is considerably less than if you are running a redhat server. Also seeing as you forked out the money for 2003 it seems kind of stupid to not use it even if you are abit p***ed at MS tech support. regarding your outlook problem if you simply explained the problem on the forums or on any IRC channel that there are MS support rooms on you would have had your problem fixed within 2 minutes.

if you followed the guide over on unattended.msfn.org for changing the bootscreen it should work pefectly providing you do it correctly and follow the guide exactely.

when looking in an icon editor such as Axialis it should be 32bit icons ranging from 48-16 256 colour icons ranging from 48-16 16 color icons ranging from 48-16 eg 48x48 32x32 32bit icons 24x24 16x16 48x48 32x32 256 colour icons 24x24 16x16 48x48 32x32 16 colour icons 24x24 16x16

ive been using Total Uninstall and have had very good results with it. once the process is monitored u can either view the details in the program or as i prefer to export the changes and reg changes to seperate files that i can view in notepad.

dont click on the resource in the tree view, simply goto. Action>replace bitmap and do it that way. all should be well then.

you can use UPX to decompress it. download upx Here. place zsnesw.exe and upx.exe in the root of C: as its easier to explain then just goto start > run and type C:\upx.exe -d zsnesw.exe and voila it will be unpacked to 2.97MB.

i have a friend who i chat to alot on the internet as they live in the US who wants me todo an XP Home nLited Unattened install cd for them as they liked all the screenshots i showed them of my modified XP Pro CD. unfortunately i dont have a copy of XP Home to nLite and none of my friends around here have XP Home either they all seem to have Pro or MCE. i have been trying to download a copy of Xp Home from somewhere ( Cant download from them as they have 56k and it would take forever ) so that i can get started on it. the problem is that im not sure of the exact size a legitimate XP Home SP2 Retail US should be. so i was hoping someone would be able to tell me how large it is without any modification so that get a clean source ready to be nLited and modified. ( i have downloaded a copy already that turned out to be 409MB and seems to have just the entire Lang folder emptied and only has support and Docs folder in CD Root so im not sure if this would be a clean source without the languages or not) ( If the mentioning of downloading a copy of XP Home is deemed as warez i apologize, i do already own a XP Pro Cd so i dont think it should be.)

i seemed to be having trouble getting it to look icey like, unforutately the best i could do was that blue colour as im still fairly new to photoshop and havent played around enough with the different layer types. ill give it a go though and see how it comes out.

either you have changed the association or changed the default open value in folder options > filetypes. heres a reg file that should fix your problem. incase you have trouble importing it Start > Run > Regedit.exe then just import it.

personally dont try and use winamp for video files as its pretty lame. use something like VLC instead

im no webmaster but seeing as nobody else has posted yet ive decided to post. for what you want todo you should ideally learn these things : Html ( obvious ) Css ( help make the site look all fancy ). MySql ( database ) PHP ( scripting language for accessing the database and to allow users to post comments on ur site ) if i am wrong then im sure one of the proper webmasters will say so.

it is not currently possible to transfer shareaza downloads over to µTorrent.wait until they are finished and then just start seeding them with µTorrent. you will notice the button in my sig.

my vote will definately go with winrar. by far the most functional archiving program ive some across. 7z does offer Slightly better compression but the compressing/decompressing times are just ridiculous and u dont really gain much extra compression from it. A good free archiver is TugZip
