  1. Try the suggestions of RainyShadow and Skorpios first. If nothing works, leave the installing of new Chipset driver as a last resort, we don't know if that would help also. Before you do that, make a backup (Image of your System or just your C: Partition where your Windows is installed, Restore Point, Registry backup). I think it is better to Uninstall the existing driver first and then Install the new one, and PC Restart in between.
  2. You said you tried all Audio drivers from that support page and no improvement, hmm. Maybe installing some other Chipset driver for your M6400 could help with your audio problem?
  3. @TigRex - Yes, that's probably the case, thanks. Thanks jaclaz, always appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't find such setting in my laptop BIOS. Now for the interesting part, let's see how much RAM it will detect out of 4GB. I will try to find and buy 1 more 2GB RAM stick, DDR2 2GB 667MHZ PC2-5300 SO-DIMM, hopefully decently priced, from Europe.
  4. Thanks guys. My XP laptop detected the additional 2GB RAM stick, all seems to work OK for now. But in System Properties > General - it shows: 2,87 GB of RAM. Is this normal? I was expecting to show 3,00 GB of RAM.
  5. Google search for "PC2-5300S-555-12-F0" : I found this page: https://www.laptop-sodimm.nl/product/2gb-2rx8-pc2-5300s-555-12-qimonda-hs08/ RAM stick has similar description: 2GB 2Rx8 PC2-5300S-555-12-ZZ Qimonda Sodimm memory Under "Timings" it shows: Cas latency: 12 (The period between the request of a job and its processing.) So I think "555-12" on my RAM stick label stands for CAS latency: 12 . Is there any way to check if my Win7 Motherboard can support CAS latency 12? EDIT: Hi Rainy, I didn't see your post, you must have posted while I was typing. My XP system has 2 RAM slots. Yes, it's possible that my XP laptop supports 2GB RAM max, that is why I wanted to test with 3GB RAM first.
  6. Thanks TrevMUN, much appreciated. I looked inside and found out what is physically written on the RAM sticks: XP laptop: 1: 1 GB, 667 MHZ, DDR2-SODIMM, 200 PIN, 64x8, OPID#2851, 6/26/06 2: 1 G, DDR2, 667, SO-DIMM, CL5 Win7 laptop: 1: 1 GB 2Rx16 PC2-5300S-555-12-A3 2: 2 GB 2Rx8 PC2-5300S-555-12-F0 I am not sure about this, but does this mean that both Win7 RAM sticks are capable of 555-12 Latency Timings? But only run at 555-15 Latency Timings because my Win7 Motherboard can only handle 555-15 Latency Timings?
  7. Hi guys, I know few things about RAM but I am not an expert, so I wanted to ask for your advice. I have 2GB RAM on my XP laptop and I want to upgrade it to 4GB RAM. My GPU is 512MB, so maybe XP x86 will detect only 3.5GB RAM or less, we will see when I upgrade to 4GB RAM. I have another Win7 laptop, which has few problems (broken cooling fan, no dedicated GPU) so I only use it for testing sometimes. My Win7 laptop has 3GB RAM, one stick of 1GB and one stick of 2GB. I was thinking to take out the 2GB RAM stick from my Win7 laptop and put it inside my XP laptop, and see how it performs for few weeks. If all goes well, later I can buy another 2GB RAM stick for a total of 4GB RAM. I made some screens to check if the RAM sticks are compatible. XP laptop: Win7 laptop: Is it safe to try and use the 2GB RAM stick from my Win7 laptop inside my XP laptop? I also have a question about Latency Timings, I am not sure if I understand them. From what I can see, the Latency Timings for my RAM sticks are: 5-5-5-15. Is this a correct way to describe my RAM sticks Latency Timings? Thanks for your time.
  8. I blocked inline scripts in uBlock Origin extension and bitchute videos played, this worked in Chrome 49, it also worked in an older version of Serpent 52: If I don't use uBlock Origin for example, and I only use uMatrix or NoScript, is it possible to block these 'inline scripts' in uMatrix or NoScript? What is the equivalent of blocking inline scripts in uBlock Origin, if using only uMatrix or NoScript?
  9. Hi nicolaasjan, which version of DownThemAll! browser extension do you use? Download link please? At first I thought this was a program, but I guess it is a browser extension only.
  10. Is this the correct file? Download File name: WindowsXP-KB893357-v2-x86-ENU.exe File size: 1.18 MB (1.244.400 bytes) Digital Signatures Timestamp: 20.04.2005, 21:02:16 MD5: 8DC2C282DB8DC41FC68E84CD356A8BE9
  11. Hi Skorpios, which version of K-Meleon do you recommend for YouTube?
  12. Thanks Dave. And thanks to @ntfoxy for these programs.
  13. Hi guys, to debug this systrayutil.dll, can I do it from Command line? I tried this: debug "C:\WINDOWS\system32\systrayutil.dll" but it says: "File not found". I am probably doing it wrong.
  14. Yes, I regularly use heinoganda's cert updater, but I haven't tried deleting all certs and reinstalling them again. Have other users tried Humming Owl's 360Chrome 9.5.0.138 on SP2? @IXOYE, @msfntor
  15. I tested 360Chrome 9.5.0.138 on SP2, I tested your first release of 360Chrome 9.5.0.138, and your latest update of 360Chrome 9.5.0.138 from 25.09.21. In your first release I did the same changes as in v11 (edited only chrome.dll and chrome_child.dll), and in your latest update I didn't change anything, the results are same with both. When I open google.com and youtube.com it shows: The link to the site is not private The security certificate used by the visited website: Error or failure (NET::ERR_CERT_INVALID) There may be a security risk and it is recommended that the cause is identified before accessing. The URL you visited is: https://google.com/ Don't block this site anymore Ignore the warning and continue accessing I pressed "Ignore..." Loads youtube.com but all video images are blank When I try to open a video, it opens the video comments but the video can't start; so not good for YouTube on SP2. Works OK on https://msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/
  16. Hi SamirD :), thanks I will try them. Now when I think about it, after one carves the command line for a specific need, it should work fast and simple from cmd.
  17. Hi @Humming Owl , sorry for the late reply. I tested with your 360Chrome 11.0.2251.0 on XP SP2. 1. "chrome.dll" file: a. Replace "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" with all 00 (2 lines) - still shows same KERNEL32.dll error. b. Replace "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" with "GetL0gicalProcessorInformation" (2 lines) - still shows same KERNEL32.dll error. c. Replace "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" with "GetLocalTime" (2 lines) - Chrome starts but google.com can't load and shows the "Aw, Snap! Something went wrong..." blank page error. 2. "chrome_child.dll" file: Replace "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" with "GetLocalTime" (2 lines) - Chrome works OK for now, 15 min on YouTube with no problem. 3. "libglesv2.dll" file: There are also 2 "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" lines present in this file, but I didn't replace them with "GetLocalTime". Maybe it's a good idea to replace these also, but I left them unchanged for now. So, I replaced 2 "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" lines with "GetLocalTime" in chrome.dll, and 2 "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" lines with "GetLocalTime" in chrome_child.dll, and it worked. Not sure if this is the best way to do it, but it works. Thank you so much Humming Owl, I couldn't have done it without your help. BTW, I have a question. If I have many .dll files, and I want to search inside all of them at the same time for a text line, which program would be best for this?
  18. @UCyborg, @VistaLover - Thanks guys. @VistaLover - The only reason why I "suddenly" thought no plugin is needed is because I misinterpreted UCyborg's post. He said: "AFAIK, Firefox itself only ever used Windows Media Foundation (Vista+) for AVC, which is not available on XP, hence you need a plugin on that OS, but otherwise, Firefox 52.9 can do AVC without a plugin." I thought he said: "Firefox 52.9 can do AVC without a plugin on XP" My mistake, I am sorry.
  19. Thanks guys. Does that mean that with Firefox ESR 52.9.0, if I only set this pref: media.webm.enabled = false, I can play that YouTube video with H.264 and YouTube stats will show AVC1 Codec? And I don't need to install Adobe Primetime CDM plugin or any other plugins? When I tested earlier with Firefox ESR 52.9.0, with media.webm.enabled = false, and the video could not play, was that because I am on XP x86 SP2? Thanks @VistaLover, really great info, much appreciated. PS: Was I wrong that I said "AVC/AVC1" Codec support? Maybe I should have said "H.264" support? I am sorry for this, I may have caused some confusion. No problem. Thanks.
  20. Thanks Rainy, you were right. Thanks nicolaasjan. Did you test on Firefox ESR 52.9.0? And did you test on x86 SP3 or x86 SP2? Thanks @UCyborg, you were correct, disabling media.webm.enabled on Firefox ESR 52.9.0 is not enough, it also needs a plugin. I did a quick test with: media.webm.enabled = false, here is the result: Firefox ESR 52.9.0 - "Your browser can't play this video". Mypal 27.9.4 - "Your browser can't play this video". Mypal 28.17.0 - Video plays OK with Codec AVC. I think both Firefox ESR 52.9.0 and Mypal 27.9.4 were released in mid 2018, and Mypal 28.17.0 was released at the end of 2020. I guess if I try any of roytam1's recent browsers with only this pref change: media.webm.enabled = false, most of them would probably work OK with AVC Codec without installing anything else. Is there a way to check WHEN did this "native" AVC Codec support end, and when did it start in Firefox browsers? Because it seems like older Firefox browsers don't have "native" AVC Codec support, and they need installing something additionally, like Primetime CDM plugin. Thanks for suggesting the "Enable MP4 (H.264 + AAC) HTML5 video..." Topic started by mixit. I want to try if it's still possible to install Primetime CDM plugin on Firefox ESR 52.9.0, but not sure if it works on x86 SP2. I'll see what I can do.
  21. Here it is: Chrome 49, 720p, Stats for nerds: Firefox 52, 720p, Stats for nerds:
