I also have problems now with https://sourceforge.net/ in 360Chrome. I tried with few 360Chrome versions, unpack .zip > start browser > open https://sourceforge.net/ (no extensions, nothing) 360ChromePortable_13.5.1030_Redux_1_ungoogled_MSFN.zip 360ChromePortable_13.5.2022_rebuild_1_ungoogled_MSFN.zip 360ChromePortable_13.5.2022_rebuild_3_regular_MSFN.zip 360ChromePortable_13.5.2022_rebuild_3_ungoogled_MSFN.zip I just tried all of these and I still can't pass the https://sourceforge.net/ "human" verification hmm. I can pass the https://sourceforge.net/ "human" verification in Serpent 52 (2023 build) and Supermium 122. I still use 360Chrome on XP for most things, runs OK on my system, I think sourceforge.net is important site for old software, and would like to know how we can solve this sourceforge.net "human" verification problem?

Hi feodor2, thanks for all your hard work with Mypal 68 and making browsing a better experience for everyone. I don't know if the same applies for Mypal 68, but some users experienced crashes with rebased 360Chrome: https://msfn.org/board/topic/182876-360-extreme-explorer-modified-version/?do=findComment&comment=1245550 Again, not sure if the same would apply for Mypal 68, but we also have report that rebased 360Chrome starts slower after reboot or hibernate: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185049-arcticfoxienotheretoplaygames-360chrome-v1352044-rebuild-2/?do=findComment&comment=1254336 https://msfn.org/board/topic/184266-arcticfoxienotheretoplaygames-360chrome-v1351030-rebuild-7/?do=findComment&comment=1238407 In the case of rebased vs non-rebased, there will always be users who prefer non-rebased and users who prefer rebased. If you want to give rebasing a try, I suggest to make 1 version rebased (we will see the feedback), and keep the other update versions at "default" (non-rebased) and maybe include additional info in the 'Readme' that the user can rebase if he wants to. Of course this is only a suggestion and the final decision is yours. Be safe and all the best.

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
we3fan replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
If you ever decide to try this yourself, there are (at least there used to be) cheap Soldering Kits from Aliexpress, good for practice. For example, 5-10$, there is 10x10cm board inside with 10 LED diodes and instructions, you solder the 10 LED diodes on the board, if completed successfully - all LED diodes light up in a certain pattern. All in the name of practice, before you attempt the real deal. -

I got this on Serpent 52. Is there an option within the browser for: "Don't allow any website to track your location" (or similar) to block these pop-up messages? -
Thanks @jumper

Hi nicolaasjan, I think this can happen if you insert Link (replace URL with text) into your post. Try to post without the Link, then edit your post and add the Link afterwards.

I have been using AOMEI Partition Assistant for some time, it's a good program, I recommend it. I was just curious ... Every time I start AOMEI Partition Assistant, it creates AMTAG.BIN file in C:\ . Can this file be prevented from creating?

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
we3fan replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I tested this few days ago on 360Chrome v13.5 : https://web.telegram.org/?legacy=1 - login with phone number only, doesn't log me in when I enter my code hmm (tried 2 times) https://web.telegram.org/z/ - redirects to web.telegram.org/a https://web.telegram.org/k/ - doesn't show QR code hmm; later showed QR code but it took too long (1-2 min maybe) https://web.telegram.org/a/ - login with QR code or phone number : 360Chrome v13.5 - I can only send messages, but I can't call, call tries but can't connect hmm GDIChromium 103.0.5060.122 on Win 7 - call worked but it had loud audio glitches hmm Apologies if Chrome and Win 7 are OT here. EDIT: Just wanted to share my web.telegram.org experience, I happened to test it on Chrome. -

My Browser Builds (Part 5)

It happened to me recently, reason was because I tried to insert Link (replace URL with text) into my post, I had to post without the Link and edit my post and add the Link afterwards. -
@mina7601 It's no problem, no harm done. @j7n Thanks again for the sxs.dll hint, much appreciated. You use XP SP3 now? @UCyborg Thanks very much. By "line break between XML head and the rest of content" you mean the part in the original file Manifest where there is a space (press Enter causes it) between standalone="yes"?> and <assembly xmlns= correct? "presence of the rest (OS GUIDs) changes compatibility context to the newest indicated OS, turns off some legacy behavior." In the original file Manifest the OS GUIDs start from lowest supported OS and go to highest supported OS, and they are ordered like this: Vista Win 7 Win 8 Win 8.1 Win 10 . In your file Manifest the OS GUIDs start from highest supported OS and go to lowest supported OS, and they are ordered like this: Win 10 Win 8.1 Win 8 Win 7 . Does it matter in what order OS GUIDs are in the Manifest, in terms of better compatibility for Win XP and keeping legacy behavior? After you are done editing the Manifest text with RH, you need to press 'Compile Script' first and then Save, yes? And yes, I agree, fixing sxs.dll is good for making the OS more immune to this.

Thanks everyone. @D.Draker, @mina7601 I appreciate the input, but I don't think that is the case with my drive, I have SSD and it's in Good condition. This only happens with 1% of the Programs I try. @j7n Your hint was correct, it was sxs.dll that was causing it. Do you still use XP SP1? @UCyborg Your modified mpc-hc.exe works good, no BSOD. Did it require replacing many lines? I want to try this mpc-hc.exe modification, I read j7n's info about this: I could try replacing the minimal number of lines. Do I need to replace this line: <ms_compatibility:compatibility xmlns:ms_compatibility="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:compatibility.v1" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:compatibility.v1"> with: <compatibility><application><supportedOS> ? @IXOYE Can you tell me what version is your C:\WINDOWS\system32\sxs.dll ? @AstroSkipper I wanted to analyse the BSOD crash dump file, but XP SP2 didn't create a crash dump file for me, I used these settings: Small memory dump (64 KB) + Custom size 16MB pagefile on C: + BSOD from MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 - no crash Minidump file hmm Small memory dump (64 KB) + Custom size 16MB pagefile on C: + BSOD from WhoCrashed > Crush Dump Test - created crash Minidump file, good. So with exact same settings the MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 BSOD didn't create crash dump file but the WhoCrashed > Crush Dump Test BSOD created crash dump file. From my tests I can only conclude that: 'STOP c000021A Error with 0xc0000005' BSOD on XP SP2 doesn't create crash dump file hmm. But even without crash dump file MSFN triumphed! @j7n @UCyborg I have SP2 and SP3, my SP2 is very customized; I use SP3 for testing, SP3 on my laptop felt a bit bloated and slower from the moment I installed it ... but I could start customizing SP3 at some point.

Here is the full BSOD message it shows when I start MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 on XP SP2 the second time after PC Restart:
-
Thanks, I appreciate it. So all 4 RAM sticks are same brand / manufacturer? OK. I am just trying to find out why I get BSOD on my XP SP2 with MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 ... incompatible RAM or driver maybe. When I start MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 the first time after PC Restart - there is no problem, but when I start it the second time - BSOD hmm.
-
Thanks. How much RAM Memory you have? You have 2 RAM sticks? Are they same brand and same size? How much Virtual memory paging file you use? OT: I hoped there would be a way to do this with VLC, high-res video file plays laggy on old PC - so by playing it at lower resolution it will play smoothly. But I guess the only way to do this is to convert the file.

Thanks. Yes, I also tried: 5.4.2, 4.4.2 and 4.2.1, but again same results.
