  1. Thanks jaclaz, I will see what I can do.
  2. Where can I find such a batch file for XP?
  3. Thanks guys. Yes, jaclaz is right, I meant "compressed", I edited the 1st post to avoid confusion.
  4. Thanks, I tried with WinRAR before but it gave me an error, I guess I need to use a more updated WinRAR version.
  5. Hi guys, let's say I have a folder with 10 compressed files (RAR, 7-Zip), and there are some text files inside these compressed files, and I want to find a word or phrase inside these text files. What program is best to use on XP if I want to search the whole folder to find a word or phrase inside the compressed files? Thanks for your time.
  6. Thanks UCyborg, I will try this as soon as I fix an unexpected hardware problem that happened to me.
  7. It finally happened to me today, on Chrome 49 youtube forced the new layout which opens very slowly compared to the old one. I want to try if I can always open youtube in the old layout. https://www.youtube.com/?disable_polymer=true - This opens in the old layout but anything you click opens in the new layout. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/restore-classic-for-youtu/dhnphdafbioamppmaiaebbdobfhbhnlm - I tried this Chrome Extension but says file is removed. Does someone know how to get this extension file and install it? https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/39405-youtube-classic-for-2018-polymer-disable/code I also found this, I don't know if it is safe or how to use it. What happens if I press "Install this script"? Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi guys, I use Chrome 49 also. Without agent Chrome opens Youtube in 2 seconds with the "We’ll stop supporting..." message. With agent Chrome opens Youtube in 8 seconds without the "We’ll stop supporting..." message. Firefox ESR 52.9 opens Youtube in 8 seconds also. Is this normal?
  9. Hi Mcinwwl :), thanks for replying, I appreciate it. So only the first 6 files are needed to make WU work? And the rest are just vulnerability and incompatibility hotfixes? In that case it makes it easier to keep track of only these 6 files. Initially I thought all 15 files are needed to make it work, I didn’t read the whole topic I admit. I think the UpdateAgent-7.6 file is safe, I guess it is normal for it to show “Microsoft Update” instead of “Microsoft Corporation”. And a big thanks to dencorso, glnz and all the others who helped to make this possible.
  10. Hi guys, I joined this great forum recently, I read only the 1st page of this topic and looked briefly through the last page, I think I found all update files needed to enable POSReady 2009 updates, but I am not sure yet so I wanted to ask you guys about it. I made a short summary of the file names: 1. WindowsXP-KB892130-ENU-x86.exe 2. WindowsXP-KB898461-x86-ENU.exe 3. WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe 4. WindowsXP-KB2898785-x86-ENU.exe 5. WindowsUpdateAgent-7.6-x86.exe 6. IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe - 7. WindowsXP-KB2878379-v2-x86-ENU.exe - 8. WindowsXP-KB948101-v3-x86-ENU.exe 9. WindowsXP-KB2828030-x86-ENU.exe 10. WindowsXP-KB959765-x86-ENU.exe 11. WindowsXP-KB955704-x86-ENU.exe - 12. HotPatch to show XP computers on Vista - WindowsXP-KB922120-v6-x86-ENU.exe - 13. WindowsXP-KB951126-x86-ENU.exe - 14. WindowsXP-KB958244-x86-ENU.exe - 15. POSReady.reg ----- NDP20SP2-KB2932079-x86.exe - Is this update really needed? Or it can be downloaded automatically after POSReady 2009 is enabled? Am I missing some file or I need to remove some file from the list? All files are signed: Microsoft Corporation, only WindowsUpdateAgent-7.6-x86.exe is signed: Microsoft Update, is that normal? Should I apply the Registry tweak at the end, after I install all 14 updates? Or at the start, before I install any updates? If it’s OK and not against the rules - I could pack all files in 1 RAR file and upload it so it can be easier for everyone. Where would be best to upload it?
  11. Thanks UCyborg, I appreciate it.
  12. Thanks again, I will see what I can do. A bit off-topic: I tried to make 'File Transfer' option to show as default when I connect the phone to the PC, I did this: Developer options > USB configuration > MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), and it seems to work but only the first time, if I disconnect and connect the phone again it is set to 'Charging' again. With 'USB debugging' enabled it behaves the same. Is this normal or it's a bug? Is it possible to make 'File Transfer' option to show every time I connect the phone to the PC?
  13. The 5 options it shows when I connect the phone to both PCs are: Charging, File Transfer, Photo Transfer, Software installation and MIDI. I don't see "USB mass storage" option so I guess it's not available for my phone, I think my phone is not rooted so that could be the reason why I don't see this "USB mass storage" option. I will try the MTP method now, are both umdf.exe and wmf...11.exe necessary or only 1 of them is enough? And does it matter which one is installed first or no?
  14. Thanks for all the replies guys, I really appreciate it, I think all of them are great advices worth trying, I have a feeling that win32's method would work best but I want to try all of them 1 by 1. I will first check if RainyShadow's advice is possible, this "USB storage" option - does it show only when I connect the phone to the PC or I can find it in my phone Settings? My phone model is: Samsung Galaxy S5, SM-G900V, Android 6.0.1, 5.1" 1920x1080 screen, 16MP camera, 2GB RAM.
  15. Hi guys :), I want to ask you for an advice about my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. I have a Win 7 PC and it detects my phone automatically when I connect it with the cable. I also have an old Win XP PC with no internet connection that I use only for some old games, my XP PC can't detect my phone automatically when I connect it with the cable, it probably doesn't have the drivers needed. I tried: SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones SAMSUNG Android USB Device Driver MTP Porting Kit SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device Driver SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface Driver - but nothing worked. From my limited tests the only way my XP PC to detect my phone is to install Windows Media Player 11, maybe there is some other better or more simple method but I don't know about it yet. I like the default Windows Media Player 9 and I don't like Windows Media Player 11, so I was wondering if there is some way to use or register the Windows Media Player 11 files and drivers without actually installing Windows Media Player 11, and hoping that it would detect my phone. Is there some way my XP PC to detect my Galaxy S5 phone without installing Windows Media Player 11? Thanks for your time.
