  1. I have been using AOMEI Partition Assistant for some time, it's a good program, I recommend it. I was just curious ... Every time I start AOMEI Partition Assistant, it creates AMTAG.BIN file in C:\ . Can this file be prevented from creating?
  2. Try this: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=388
  3. I tested this few days ago on 360Chrome v13.5 : https://web.telegram.org/?legacy=1 - login with phone number only, doesn't log me in when I enter my code hmm (tried 2 times) https://web.telegram.org/z/ - redirects to web.telegram.org/a https://web.telegram.org/k/ - doesn't show QR code hmm; later showed QR code but it took too long (1-2 min maybe) https://web.telegram.org/a/ - login with QR code or phone number : 360Chrome v13.5 - I can only send messages, but I can't call, call tries but can't connect hmm GDIChromium 103.0.5060.122 on Win 7 - call worked but it had loud audio glitches hmm Apologies if Chrome and Win 7 are OT here. EDIT: Just wanted to share my web.telegram.org experience, I happened to test it on Chrome.
  4. <OT> Thanks @66cats, I appreciate it. I plan to make new Partitions soon so I'll keep this in mind. </OT>
  5. <OT> Hi cats, I see you have 5 Partitions, are they all Primary + Bootable? Are all 5 Partitions from 1 HDD, or more? </OT>
  6. Hi Dietmar, this maybe: https://www.mediafire.com/file/tgdj4xfoz4zxzws/XP2ESD_v1.6.7z/file XP2ESD 1.6 - modern Win XP installer, XP2ESD_v1.6.7z, 4.09 GB XP2ESD_v1.6.7z\plugins\driverpacks\DP_VMWare_XP.7z 8.39 MB DP_VMWare_XP.7z\x86\video_xpdm\vmx_svga.sys I uploaded DP_VMWare_XP.7z here: https://ufile.io/wlenkyyc DP_VMWare_XP.7z, 8.39 MB, from XP2ESD 1.6 Latest XP2ESD is v1.6.2, maybe that has newer VMware GPU driver, not sure.
  7. It happened to me recently, reason was because I tried to insert Link (replace URL with text) into my post, I had to post without the Link and edit my post and add the Link afterwards.
  8. @mina7601 It's no problem, no harm done. @j7n Thanks again for the sxs.dll hint, much appreciated. You use XP SP3 now? @UCyborg Thanks very much. By "line break between XML head and the rest of content" you mean the part in the original file Manifest where there is a space (press Enter causes it) between standalone="yes"?> and <assembly xmlns= correct? "presence of the rest (OS GUIDs) changes compatibility context to the newest indicated OS, turns off some legacy behavior." In the original file Manifest the OS GUIDs start from lowest supported OS and go to highest supported OS, and they are ordered like this: Vista Win 7 Win 8 Win 8.1 Win 10 . In your file Manifest the OS GUIDs start from highest supported OS and go to lowest supported OS, and they are ordered like this: Win 10 Win 8.1 Win 8 Win 7 . Does it matter in what order OS GUIDs are in the Manifest, in terms of better compatibility for Win XP and keeping legacy behavior? After you are done editing the Manifest text with RH, you need to press 'Compile Script' first and then Save, yes? And yes, I agree, fixing sxs.dll is good for making the OS more immune to this.
  9. Thanks everyone. @D.Draker, @mina7601 I appreciate the input, but I don't think that is the case with my drive, I have SSD and it's in Good condition. This only happens with 1% of the Programs I try. @j7n Your hint was correct, it was sxs.dll that was causing it. Do you still use XP SP1? @UCyborg Your modified mpc-hc.exe works good, no BSOD. Did it require replacing many lines? I want to try this mpc-hc.exe modification, I read j7n's info about this: I could try replacing the minimal number of lines. Do I need to replace this line: <ms_compatibility:compatibility xmlns:ms_compatibility="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:compatibility.v1" xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:compatibility.v1"> with: <compatibility><application><supportedOS> ? @IXOYE Can you tell me what version is your C:\WINDOWS\system32\sxs.dll ? @AstroSkipper I wanted to analyse the BSOD crash dump file, but XP SP2 didn't create a crash dump file for me, I used these settings: Small memory dump (64 KB) + Custom size 16MB pagefile on C: + BSOD from MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 - no crash Minidump file hmm Small memory dump (64 KB) + Custom size 16MB pagefile on C: + BSOD from WhoCrashed > Crush Dump Test - created crash Minidump file, good. So with exact same settings the MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 BSOD didn't create crash dump file but the WhoCrashed > Crush Dump Test BSOD created crash dump file. From my tests I can only conclude that: 'STOP c000021A Error with 0xc0000005' BSOD on XP SP2 doesn't create crash dump file hmm. But even without crash dump file MSFN triumphed! @j7n @UCyborg I have SP2 and SP3, my SP2 is very customized; I use SP3 for testing, SP3 on my laptop felt a bit bloated and slower from the moment I installed it ... but I could start customizing SP3 at some point.
  10. Here is the full BSOD message it shows when I start MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 on XP SP2 the second time after PC Restart:
  11. Thanks, I appreciate it. So all 4 RAM sticks are same brand / manufacturer? OK. I am just trying to find out why I get BSOD on my XP SP2 with MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 ... incompatible RAM or driver maybe. When I start MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 the first time after PC Restart - there is no problem, but when I start it the second time - BSOD hmm.
  12. Thanks. How much RAM Memory you have? You have 2 RAM sticks? Are they same brand and same size? How much Virtual memory paging file you use? OT: I hoped there would be a way to do this with VLC, high-res video file plays laggy on old PC - so by playing it at lower resolution it will play smoothly. But I guess the only way to do this is to convert the file.
  13. Thanks. Yes, I also tried: 5.4.2, 4.4.2 and 4.2.1, but again same results.
  14. Yes, I feared that would be the answer. OT: Is it possible to play a local 1080p .mp4 file at 720p in VLC media player? Hi IXOYE, welcome back. With MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 on XP SP2 I get BSOD with c000021a Error. Did you add some additional file to make MPC-HC 2.1.2.18 work on XP SP2?
  15. Thanks guys. AstroSkipper, The portable version gives same results unfortunately. You have Win 7 64-bit?
  16. Thanks, worked nicely. Is it possible to do the same for high-resolution video files, for example, to play .mp4 1080p video files in 480p?
  17. http://www.youtubedownloaderhd.com/download.html says ver 5.4.3 is only for Win 7 64-bit, I hoped it would work on Win 7 32-bit also but it doesn't. So I think last version for Win 7 32-bit is ver 3.7 . Can someone confirm this? I didn't realize initially that they stopped development for Win 7 32-bit, and only continued developing for Win 7 64-bit, that surprised me a bit. Do many programs for Win 7 do that, or this is just a rare case?
  18. Thanks. Yes, that would be nice for older PCs, how to make MPC-HC play YouTube videos in 480p?
  19. Hi, I installed Youtube Downloader HD 5.4.3 (link) on my Win 7 SP1 32-bit PC, but it doesn't work properly. 360p YT video - downloads OK. 480p YT video - downloads both Video and Audio files separetely, and shows this: When I press "OK" both files are deleted, so 480p download is not successful. Do I need to install something additionally for 480p video to download and merge successfully? I also tried Youtube Downloader HD 5.0.1 and I got same results. (360p - OK, 480p - Not OK) What is the last version of Youtube Downloader HD for Win 7 32-bit?
  20. Hi guys, Happy New Year @Monroe, @AstroSkipper Which version of Youtube Downloader HD you use? I found this, Youtube Downloader HD 3.7 (XP / Vista legacy version): https://www.oldergeeks.com/downloads/files/youtube_downloader_xp.zip (For Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista)
  21. I got it from https://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/295651/ (edibdbjcniadpccecjdfdjjppcpchdlm-1.1.1-Crx4Chrome.com.crx, 470 KB) manifest.json has this: # "update_url": "https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx", "manifest_version": 3, "name": "__MSG_extensionName__", "description": "__MSG_extensionDescription__", "default_locale": "en", "version": "1.1.1", "icons": { "16": "icons/16.png", "48": "icons/48.png", "128": "icons/128.png" }, "author": "OhMyGuus and Community (originally Daniel Kladnik)", "permissions": [ "tabs", "storage", "notifications", "webRequest", "declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess", "webNavigation", "scripting" ], # What it says under manifest_version for you?
  22. Thanks. When I try to install (drag&drop) I still don't care about cookies 1.1.1 in 360Chrome v13, it says: " Package is invalid. Details: The extension requires 'declarativeNetRequest' permission for the 'declarative_net_request' manifest key.'. " Do I need to modify it before install?
  23. Hi ArcticFoxie, Which version of "I still don't care about cookies" you use? These ( https://www.crx4chrome.com/history/295651/ ) have Manifest V3 and I can't install them in 360Chrome v13 .
