  1. Will need to try the memory and firman. Basically, I'm only on old RAM and I've only 2GB of reliable as the other 500MB sticks are bad. My systems are very very old and showing their age. But hey, just like me, rough around the edges and and needs a little bit more love and it sings like a crow. Wait
  2. Oh yes, that (2nd one) was after I ran that installer that was provided a page before from @George King ... I decided I didn't really need to extensions he was providing so I went back to just the usual from the official Zip and put the software in program files that I create. I would rather just keep is as basic as possible and still it struggles, sadly to have to say on my 2GB of memory.
  3. Thank you ... I wonder why for your: "C:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 ... you got zeros, wheres, for my: "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):90,ec,26,3a,b7,15,00,00 "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):af,f6,3d,c3,30,17,\ 00,00 I did not get zeros and wonder what those values mean. Obviously, I could just zero them out seems like a good idea.
  4. Still shake my head that we are still able to use this in 2022 and those of us still have the passion to keep it going. If I had to buy something new, I don't really know what I'd do, but cross that bridge then as I'm on failing hardware now so never know when that day will come.
  5. I run a very very slim XP on my systems and they don't take up much space or require much in the way of resources. I suspect win 2000 would be the smartest choice. I do miss 95 and 98 and have legal DVD with keys. My IBM (both) finally busted so I discarded them but keep the hard drives as can't ever (totally) remove personal info. The CMOS and everything fried anyway Lol...
  6. Do you know ... cats have always liked me throughout my life. They would always come up to me, and while I do find them adorable, I can't have a pet here or even fish. I know I joke about it, but I feel connection to fish like that. I love my fish friends in the village when I get to see them and I feed them. As a kid, even I enjoyed quarrels when I lived in the country, I was child and life changed drastically. Life had other plans; or so they say and need to accept it was/is for a reason. I'm happy to hear you are enjoying games with your wife - I miss board games too - lost most of them when I moved and could only take what I could which wasn't much really. Sometimes need to get away from the computer and pixels and appreciate the beauty and simplicity again :)
  7. I used IE 6 for ages, upgraded to 7 for only a short time and to V8 even until it was useless ... Still have it on the systems but disabled completely now. I miss my old flash games tbh...
  8. Thank you for the reassurance ... I just monitor anything that happens on my computer. Cool as a cucumber here
  9. Quick question: Even running it with no remote, do others have this show up in the registry? [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal\Launcher] "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Image"=dword:62a1c659 "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):90,ec,26,3a,b7,15,00,00 "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal\\mypal.exe|Image"=dword:62a1c659 "C:\\Program Files\\Mypal\\mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):af,f6,3d,c3,30,17,\ 00,00 Is this some sort of telemetry?
  10. Sorry to hear that, I read, but of course, it's beyond the scope of my knowledge. It does appear little interest in Vista development on here as of late
  11. Welcome back! Easy to lose interest when just going around in circles, sometimes. Surely (but, please, don't call me Shirley ...)) You've not done everything yet, everyday I learn something new and it perks me up, but can become tedious at times, I admit. I enjoy live Linux sessions nowadays this way I don't screw up my current working XP and there is a zillion distributions to try out. I also have archaic computers and struggle to run anything good but I keep them going. Hope you find something the perks up your interests. Take care
  12. Thank you... I used to use the no remote but now I keep strong watch of my appdata application data folders and the registry. I admit its taking a chance.
  13. Oh, even if I could ask the developer I'd still would ask you first as I trust your judgment and advice. Thank you for the help regarding security question. I confess, I'm largely clueless 90% of the time anyway. Ha! I put the ph in confusion. Sometimes I (actually) learn it and have learned so much here at MSFN.
  14. Wondering myself. I canceled the download after realizing it is not a zip (per usual) and I would need to verify this is correct.
  15. Thank you for sharing this - that warmed my heart.
  16. Bit worse on 360 Chrome V11. Do you know what "API tampering detected" means? thank you as always for your insight
  17. I see .. I headed over to: https://canvasblocker.kkapsner.de/test/ ... and ran a few tests and only 1 says I'm safe.
  18. Hate to say it ... its (plutotv) not that great at all .. maybe aliens on another planet find it exciting Too bad there is no blobfishtv down here on the ocean floor. Maybe the mods will move all our postings to streaming services thread (or something) in respect to Roytam1, feel bad about it, actually.
  19. Agreed 100% I LOVE my old DVD collection and VCR over streaming services that are collecting every bit of data to try to track your every move across the web. Free VPN services scare me. Makes me laugh when I see a commercial and they think they know me ... they are so far off. Ha, guess I'm doing something right Honestly, if they are trying to figure me out, its pretty clear I'm 1 bolt short of a complete nut case.... Yeah, even Mypal 68 wouldn't load without all those errors (in the picture I attached a page prior). What is odd is its not the browser because I tried FF 102 on Android and it loaded fine so sites are not happy with Windows?!?! YT is just awful now no matter the spoof. although a "tad" better spoofing win32 at least on my systems.
  20. For the most part, I have a Vudu free account but I have to log in (yuck) but Pluto and Tubi I use the most and no spoofing required. https://tubitv.com/ https://pluto.tv/ Well actually I do spoof my Serpent 52 and 55 to: user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.firefox", false); user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.gecko", false); user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.version", "102"); user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0"); user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0");
  21. Oh, well you need to sift through each movie and see where it takes you. I guess I mainly use it for reference. I don't have paid services so unless it takes me to something free, I can't watch it. But to answer you question, early in the year almost everything was free, but now, hardly any so the site (itself) isn't much good anymore. Maybe sites that used to be around are no more and gone. Too bad actually but people were blocking the ads and I guess they wanted to make money.
  22. I'm sorry, I missed your edit ... I feel asleep on the sofa (rough night prior) and woke up to read over ... no malware ever on my system. I only run that when I get suspicious. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Malwarebytes ADW Cleaner 6.0.4.7 - Malwarebytes Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit 1.9.1.1001. Still new definitions with limited Heuristic ability to detect, but I DO NOT use real-time on my systems. Besides, if things go *that* bad, I'd rather just use my Acronis backup and restore it - usually backup once a week. Thank you again for your concern and help EDIT: Needed to correct mistakes - I'm very groggy when I first wake up lately.
