Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP
XPerceniol replied to heinoganda's topic in Windows XP
Sorry I've not replied yet; @Dave-H Hate to say it, could you use system restore or restore a stable backup, perhaps from Acronis is you use it? I didn't have any problems but I don't use Eudora. I haven't seen heinoganda in quite some time actually. -

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hi guys.. Roy already has the following prefs (in both ST52 and New Moon) set to: canvas.image.cache.limit =0 canvas.customfocusing.enabled =false canvas.hitregions.enabled =false canvas.imagebitmap_extensions.enabled =false devtools.canvasdebugger.enabled = false gfx.offcreeencanvas.enabled = false I have the following prefs set from their defaults: gfx.canvas.azure.backends =cairo gfx.canvas.skiagl.dynamic-cacha = false canvas.poisondata = true Would it do any good to change the following prefs (from their defaults) to false? canvas.capturestream.enabled (from true to) false canvas.focusring.enabled (from true to) false canvas.path.enabled (from true to) false Thank you in advance :) -

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I do (indeed) feel @roytam1 has dome such an amazing job with Serpent 52.9.0 - I've been having no issues with the last two builds and look forward to continued success with this project as well as his other projects going forward :) -
I am feeling: Hopeful :)

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I also can't see the links with Serpent or New Moon - but on the proxy [hidedoor] - I can? I didn't think a proxy would disguise the OS - I was under the impression is just changed the location and IP. Funny thing is, I can view the same articles from other sites without problem, just not with msnbc? -
I'm feeling: Disconnected :(

There is just no easy/practical solution to this problem.

whats your favorite band? (community topic)
XPerceniol replied to legacyfan's topic in General Discussion
Wow.. so many nice mentions here - I enjoy so many genres and styles and singers - everything practically. I quote enjoy listening to oldies and have posted in our music thread to reflect; as well as some to today's music. As far as today's music, I struggle to find a band I can relate to, but I do appreciate imagine dragons and I have so much respect for Dan Reynolds ... his talent and hard work to support equal human rights. -
Well.. I didn't continue in the Roytam1 thread as you requested, but wanted to acknowledge that I also have very much the same mitigations in place to keep things in check. I agree its preventing the attack surface as best as possible without going overboard to cripple the system and becoming unusable. as stated, I run OS: XP Pro x86 SP3 and monitor what is happening on my system diligently. This test could be helpful and I have zero vulnerabilities from that know database. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Vulnerabilities_and_Exposures https://www.safetydetectives.com/vulnerability-tool/ Enjoy your Sunday everyone (whats left of it, anyway)

I hope I got to you in time, but if not, hopefully everything went well. I recall running into trouble with that update and had to get rid of that that one. https://www.processchecker.com/file/KB898461.exe.html https://forums.majorgeeks.com/threads/kb898461.153810 You could read here if you run into trouble also. https://errorsbase.com/k-errors/kb898461-error.html

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Fixed now :) The installer by @i430VX did the trick and now its the default. However, I still have that raccoon so its still lurking around somewhere, but oh well, time to think about other things. Thanks everyone for your help and enjoy your day/evening. -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Gosh, this is strange ... I did run that mypal MyPal installer, and once finished, I was able to uninstall it without problem; but, I had to manually clean the registry again - not a trace of mypal anymore. Cleaned my system with Wise cleaner and ccleaner and reset IE, and look at this shortcut with the racoon logo??? I'm not saying the browser isn't good, but dang, I didn't think I was getting married to it and can no longer make New Moon default as hard as I try. Anyway, I'm cool and gonna get outside today as its about 77 degrees and I badly need some sun. Thanks everyone and hopefully I'll straighten this out later or tomorrow. -

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Thank you for the fast reply; Dave, I did remove everything related to mypal in the registry and removed all traces of mypal and completely messed up everything actually, now my links open up in IE ... ugh. Still can not make New Moon Default as in picture above. Again, I appreciate your help/advice and I'll fix this if it kills me - what I get being a "Curious George" EDIT: I'm gonna try that installer here for it but I've never needed it before. Also, I tried "folder option" -> "file types" and make .url (internet shortcut) open in New Moon and even that won't work. -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Well, I've (really) done it this time ... I hope you guys still love me still?? I decided to install mypal only for testing and used the installer and accidentally ticked default browser and now I can't undo it and I've been trying for hours. His uninstaller doesn't work for me and deleting it completely didn't either, its still my default browser and I can no longer make new moon the default; which mean my links are looking for mypal even if its gone. How can I change it in the OS? No browsers who in the Add or Remove Progrms. And no matter how many times I click here, it won't make new moon the default. Not that I don't like mypal but now I'm stuck with it and don't know how to remove it. For those using the installer, think before you click "use as default browser" Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm clueless. Thank you in advance :) -

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Basically: this is me, my system is heavily crippled for the sake of (so called) privacy/security. I guess we do what we can so we can still enjoy the experience (as you say ... proportionally) , otherwise, whats the point? Thank you for sharing this info; Dixel ... I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me. Well if "they" are tracking (little old) me (mister blobfish) they must be very very bored lol. Geez Louise ... they would fall asleep if they went through my computer -

So, if I understand this, Zero is good, in that, it didn't detect anything? But, Why was my Serpent52 Build Id: 20210508151854 seen 1069 times? Perhaps I'm not understanding the results. 92.24% Unique. EDIT: FWIW ... The test won't run with the user pref [dom.storage.enabled] set to false (which is how I normally keep it, I only enable when needed).
