  1. Yeah, had to quit a lot of places because of the toxicity and I've limited myself to only 2 places now and I'm not sure where else to go to interact with people online. Shame because human nature shouldn't be this way which is sort of why I keep to myself these days. When I go for my walks I try to appreciate nature and the beauty that never disappoints.
  2. No need to be sorry, you're not alone trust me. It is sad and VERY VERY hard to fight depression in an unstable world. Things are not good now, lets be honest. We have to pull into our little bubble and surround ourselves with things that bring us joy (even small things count) We have to not let it (the evil) poison our own soul. It can poison if you let it and we become dark and sickness from mental illness manifest into physical symptoms and we become sour and empty and full of bitterness and hate. We have to catch it. Me ... I struggle very hard with (both) physical and mental illness and some days seem hopeless. I had to do anything and everything to pull myself out. There was a time when my ONLY coping mechanisms were drugs and alcohol and it took 3 times in rehab and I finally decided it was enough and I have to face this world sober. I'm NOW 100% sober other than the medications I take. Again, you don't have to be sorry, I can see you are kind and passionate. Be kind and never give up and they can't win and can't get you. http://anxietyforum.net/forum/member.php?164925-salvator-here
  3. Sorry, had to correct so many mistakes. I hope this thread doesn't become a battle of religious beliefs.
  4. Deep down within our soul (consciousness / awareness) there is hope if we look deep within ourselves beyond the shell/body; the spirit. No politician has ever done anything to help me. Praying to God puts our concentrated energy to seek strength. The darkens is very powerful and BEAUTIFUL. YES ... illusive and louring. Remember, according to the bible ... the devil was the most beautiful angel. People think the devil is scary; wrong. Its the jealous thoughts, the envy, pride, VANITY. People have it wrong, very wrong. I (personally) believe the devil is anything that keeps you away from the light - only in the light is there hope. Find the light and wrap yourself around it spread and pass it on. What a beautiful world it would be if people were (truly) kind and compassionate. Only love in your heart. No hate. That being said: I'm starting to wonder if the world is too far gone to the point of no return. Everything NOW is political. I don't support extremism on either side but that is where we are; so sad to say
  5. I've not fired up Mypal in quite some time - that racoon is cute but it would tear up the front yard in a hot minute. I recon a new logo and name would server it better. I'm running: 29.3.0 Portable Build ID 20210723130536 Figured I'd do some testing, and surprisingly enough, I'm able to spoof: user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0"); user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.version", "91"); user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0"); Youtube and everything just seems to still work VERY well; so perhaps there is a future. Also I recommend the following prefs. user_pref("app.feedback.baseURL", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("app.normandy.api_url", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("app.normandy.enabled", false); user_pref("app.support.baseURL", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("app.update.mode", 0); user_pref("app.update.staging.enabled", false); user_pref("app.update.url", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("beacon.enabled", false); user_pref("breakpad.reportURL", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("browser.customizemode.tip0.learnMoreUrl", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("browser.customizemode.tip0.shown", false); user_pref("browser.dictionaries.download.url", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("browser.discovery.enabled", false); user_pref("browser.selfsupport.enabled", false); user_pref("browser.selfsupport.url", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("browser.send_pings.max_per_link", 0); user_pref("browser.send_pings.require_same_host", true); user_pref("canvas.poisondata", true); user_pref("captivedetect.canonicalURL", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("captivedetect.maxRetryCount", 0); user_pref("captivedetect.maxWaitingTime", 0); user_pref("captivedetect.pollingTime", 0); user_pref("device.sensors.enabled", false); user_pref("dom.push.connection.enabled", false); user_pref("dom.push.serverURL", "https://127.0.0.1"); user_pref("network.captive-portal-service.enabled", false); user_pref("network.captive-portal-service.maxInterval", 0); user_pref("network.captive-portal-service.minInterval", 0); user_pref("security.tls.version.min", 3); user_pref("browser.uitour.enabled", false); user_pref("browser.uitour.url", "https://127.0.0.1");
  6. Auto everything is disabled here. No indexing or maintenance (scheduled tasks - Zero ("0")) No intel optimization, nothing, even automatically updates, never ... I only update malwarebytes manually and I can't even recall when used system restore - it never worked anyway for me. I use Acronis (linux based) backup.
  7. ^^ Wow ! Awesome; indeed :)
  8. I agree ... XP tweaked is the most efficient. If I want, I could even kill off some of the dlls that load at startup and I don't think win 10 would like that - I hear even disrupting the task manager and it won't run correctly. XP is certainly not a resource hog by any stretch. My download speed is slow, but I think its a good lesson in patience I download and then do other thing while waiting PS: And I also do find Wise to be helpful overall and not just the mem optimizer. Clean out the junk and defrag once a week.
  9. My Dell OptiPlex 745 is still going strong and hopefully I'll have it for a while long ... along with my Dell Dimension from 2004 (I think) Never owned a smart phone and only talked a few times on one and the sound was delayed or smth. Don't have a landline only an old flip phone for emergencies.
  10. https://odysee.com/@AaronWatson:1/how-is-aldi-so-cheap:0 Seems to be working fine with both 360 and Serpent 52 - watching this vid now! EDIT: And I DO have cdnjs.cloudflare.com blocked
  11. Yes, I take life day-by-day and try to concentrate on the here-and-now; Today! This very second that will pass by and I can never get back. The past is gone, its over, and the future hasn't happened yet, so why waste a moment on worry. I like you description of the the human BSOD with no restart. That resonated with me today, so today I will remember that and try not to let the madness and insanity of the world bring me down. I enjoy playing games and watching movies so much - My computer is the 'air I breathe' and my outlet to the outside world.
  12. Said so very wel @msfntorl. The hard work put into our 360 chrome is appreciated and we a grateful to have the experience to (both) continue to use XP in 2021 (noting compares to XP) and to use this chrome browser knowing that so much love and energy and determination went (and still is) towards its development. You see; and "they" said it couldn't be done ... a secure private chrome on windows xp EDIT: I don't intend to ever give up on XP completely, nor will I give up on Roytam (Serpent Browser) or our two 360 developers 360EE. I truly hope we will enjoy many more years on our systems - despite the fact that the internet is closing in on us. We fight and never give up easily (both in real life and technology). Full speed ahead!
  13. I am now running a dual-boot of XP and Zorin Linux and thus far I'm quite impressed
  14. Which makes me even wonder if I need DHCP or should I remove it? Don't know about Automatic metric, Enable LMHOSTS lookup "ticked"? I have better speed with NetBIOS disabled. Please disregard the above - researched and answered on my own. "Enable LMHOSTS" is now not ticked and it has no affect on my host file.
  15. From; Run -> Cmd Type: tasklist /svc This should show you the number of svchost.exe instances and what they are. EDIT: I only have 2 svchost.exe instances... 1st being for: Remote Procedure Call service (that I"m told is needed to run the os) 2nd being for: Audio Service, Dhcp, Network Connections, Firewall and Windows Management Instrumentation (which I plan to get rid of and replace the firewall eventually because I find it absurd that both [Network Connections and WMI] are needed to use the useless native firewall)
  16. With my current settings: Explorer taking up the most resources (lowered to lowest priority) and my print spoller killer off (and of course the task manager which isn't normally running). 11 processes (I started another process to take the center screen shot and why its was 12) resting at idle 0% ... which is a notable difference from DEP AlwaysOn and without the registry tweaks ... even if only shaving off a few seconds here and there I think its was worth it. Under System Properties -> Performance Options I have (both) processor scheduling and memory usage set to: Programs VS Background Services and System Cache - But I also allow the system to manage the page-file because I don't know what would be the best setting manually. Otherwise, I suspect configuring the page-file and System Cache would be of more benefit.
  17. I downloaded Core Temp and will report back tomorrow in the AM. Sorry, my mind is mush and I'm ready to get into my superman pajamas. Was that TMI ...
  18. The way I understand (or misunderstand) it: Disable the DOS 8.3 naming convention to save system resources. Windows XP uses two different names for each and every file on your system. One is the name that you see in explorer and in the command prompt, and the other is an MSDOS compatible 8.3 (8 character title followed by a '.' Then three more characters to indicate the type of file) name. If you are intending to run DOS only software, or connect to pre-Windows 95 computers, you will need this second set of names. If not, you are simply wasting resources. To disable the 8.3 naming convention: Open REGEDIT Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem Change the value of the NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation key to '1
  19. I do have an old flip phone but I do see people have their heads buried down in their smart phones or walking around talking on their ear piece. No wonder people are getting run over and waling onto railroad tracks. Speaking of which ... lately somebody has been calling my phone breathing heavy. Could it be someone with asthma
  20. I also just went with no DEP - AlwaysOff, and just resting idle (no real-time antivirus) the OS is only at CPU usage at most 2% ... so this is much better, indeed. Also did you try out the registry settings I posted in the 360 thread? This is so fast now I can run the world ... not just the country ... the entire planet with this computer
  21. Hello, I was able to get the portable updater to grab updates last April. This thread was also helpful. https://msfn.org/board/topic/182664-microsoft-expiring-sha-1-updates-will-this-kill-xp/page/6/#comment-1199409
  22. How cool ! All I can do to keep my one plant (a peace Lilly) alive
  23. Only a few? I have a huge prefs.js ( that I've worked on just by trial-and-error ) and it has made a difference. I've had to disable a lot to combat the fact that have not much in the way of free resources; so its a bit of a balance that I'm just learning with 360. But yeah, I wonder how much longer Serpent will be usable in a chrome world.
