360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
XPerceniol replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Thank you, guys, will use caution and wait until I hear more from @Humming Owl and @msfntor before using it with any regularity. I do like to layout and I think I has potential. Hopefully, that will become a formidable option for us when finalized.- 2,340 replies

360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
XPerceniol replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I'm trying to come up with a way to allow it to create the keys then manipulate them (disable what I want) and try to forbid further access to them so they will stay put; but I don't know how.- 2,340 replies

360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
XPerceniol replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I've been experimenting with Linux (several distros) and I have no issues but it messes with my master boot record when I go back to windows. Linux will do everything I need but run my stupid old HP Printer ... only 1 picks it up. Emmabuntus Debian 9 or 10, but, 11 is awful IMO.- 2,340 replies

360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
XPerceniol replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
"installed"? The tool I use is portable. Cert_Updater_v1.6. I still have red instead of green padlock on some sites. I have started to use DCBrowser @Humming Owl and it seems pretty good overall. Are you planning to continue development? Question, did you remove the telemetry hard-code? Do I need a loader or just run the application? I'll need to use Ccleaner then to remove files and folders because even with clear at shutdown, it doesn't clean everything. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance.- 2,340 replies

No kidding, same here. Welcome back everyone, we got through it. I haven't celebrated NYE in ages. I go to bed at 10PM :)

Ok ... Break over, ha Spent most of the morning cleaning and cleaning everything out. So ... 'out of the box' [ungoogled v11] no profile ... no nothing, I actually don't have anything saved anyway so I don't miss anything. There is nothing personal at all and I prefer it that way. Some ppl save pictures and songs and bookmarks. Never! Run the loader and browsed around some mundane things on the net and closed the browser after about 4 minutes. Here are the registry entries that still remain. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\360Chrome\Update\ClientState\{27D39816-7A3D-406c-9ABC-97FB55674016}\_NumAccounts] "aggregate"="sum()" "S-1-5-21-776561741-1450960922-1417001333-1003"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\360Chrome\Update\ClientState\{27D39816-7A3D-406c-9ABC-97FB55674016}\_NumSignedIn] "aggregate"="sum()" "S-1-5-21-776561741-1450960922-1417001333-1003"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\360Chrome\Update\ClientStateMedium\{27D39816-7A3D-406c-9ABC-97FB55674016}] "usagestats"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ESENT\Process\360chrome\DEBUG] "Trace Level"="" So, until we get this figured out, I just changed: Sub Key ... "S-1-5-21-776561741-1450960922-1417001333-1003"=dword:00000000 (for now) At least that took care of most of it and most entries and dword:00000000, so (I guess) that means inactive? And, of course, --disable-component-update in your loader. Again, thank you @NotHereToPlayGames I realize you are busy so there is no rush and I know you'll hard code when you can. Hope all is well, TC

BAD NEWS! Sorry to have to report this. Cleaned out the registry totally and removed all traces of 360 Chrome. Nowhere at all; everything gone. So ... now: From a flash drive I ran 360 Chrome (from shortcut with strings/flags) and its dangerous to say the VERY least. Wanna see my registry now? Talk about telemetry city, I thought it was removed from the program files, excuse me???!!! Needless to say, I would say its a VERY BAD IDEA to run this browser without some loader or protection in place; period.

Understand; we all our own things that bother us. Update: So I said I would report back and it turns out.. My Ccleaner settings (high paranoia) was messing it up as I deleted everything but preferences file. As I posted today, with the loader, everything is as should be, without the loader, whole different story. But ... it would seem, using that loader and creating that profile, I can take that profile and take it to the application folder and use a shortcut with my stings and the settings from the loader work; however, while the search engine default is your google (g), the other (hidden) engines were still present and I was fine as they weren't active, but you know me (mister blobfish, of course) I had to check why and not deleting the folder and files: User Data\Default Local Storage (folder) Web Data (file) Web Data-journal (file) Now, the other search engines are hidden as I removed them manually and with these files (left in place), it stays that way and remembers. I hope that made some kind of sense ... without question 'one of those days' for me. Actually that is sort of every day lately lol

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hi there.. Yeah, to be honest, I only gave up because I was too lazy to keep up with my prefs.js along with St ... Dang ... perhaps I should take a few days and compare because (in all honesty) with those dll files, FF52.9.1 was just fine and almost equal to our St52. I'm on Serpent now using: user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0"); user_pref("general.useragent.compatMode.version", "91"); user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0"); And I have good results. Alternatively, With my FF, I was using: user_pref("general.oscpu.override", "Windows NT 10.0"); user_pref("general.useragent.override", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win32; x86; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0"); And both were about equal most of the time. I used to do it the long way and comb through and take some settings from Serpent, and sometimes actually take some from FF. It will be interesting to see where Roy decides to take this project; indeed! -
That is awesome to hear! Sorry I didn't repspond to your question; also. @Dixel's version is fine, but, sadly, its too much (all V13) for this old clunker and V11 play videos all the way without skipping; but I'm grateful that he is sharing it with us. I would prefer to have this coded into the application (and files) without having to use the loader. So.. Fresh off the trunk - I'm on V11 and searching for flower brings me: https://www.google.com/search?q=flowers&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 And only your google is the default search engine, so all is good. But (sorry) when I just load the application (all your files still) this is not the case, so I guess the 'magic' is in the loader ... and I did change the skin without trouble

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
You beat me to it ... was going to ask this very question. I'm almost certain FF52.9.1 and 45ESR are vulnerable. I've stopped using them and wonder if @roytam1 can fix this in St52 and 55. I have toggled: javascript.options.shared_memory to (false) javascript.options.asmjs to (false) .... -
Good Morning @NotHereToPlayGames I'm sorry I left you hanging last night ... turned in early after posting and am reading now ... am going to work no this today and hopefully caught up some answers. Thank you for your hard work and help with this issues and matter FTR, no proxy and I use NO extensions at al during testing now.

I know?! It only happenes from the search on the upper right any skin (or no skin). If I do a search for movies by going to google directly and searching. https://www.google.com/search?q=movies& <-Should it not just be this? Instead: https://www.google.com/search?q=movies&source=hp&ei=UrjHYaDnDd-LytMPk5GnyAU&iflsig=ALs-wAMAAAAAYcfGYji4eIfam1PLqGDrj6tCdqlu0RTH&ved=0ahUKEwig2JLim4D1AhXfhXIEHZPICVkQ4dUDCAk&uact=5&oq=movies&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAMyCggAELEDEIMBEEMyDggAEIAEELEDEIMBEMkDMgUIABCSAzIFCAAQkgMyCAgAEIAEELEDMgQIABBDMgsIABCABBCxAxCDATIECAAQQzIECAAQQzILCAAQgAQQsQMQgwE6CAguELEDEIMBOgQILhBDOgsILhCABBDHARCvAVAAWM8HYLcLaABwAHgAgAFPiAGFA5IBATaYAQCgAQE&sclient=gws-wiz I don't know what all in blue is??? I don't know enough to understand what all that is. From the search box https://www.google.com.hk/search?client=aff-cs-360se&ie=UTF-8&q=movies&

Hmmm .. UGH!!! Just a search for old songs on the google (not the default) on 360 Chrome https://www.google.com.hk/search?client=aff-cs-360se&ie=UTF-8&q=old+song& {google:baseURL}search?client=aff-cs-360se&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s&{google:RLZ}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:assistedQueryStats}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}{google:bookmarkBarPinned}{google:searchClient}{google:instantExtendedEnabledParameter}{google:omniboxStartMarginParameter} I didn't even notice until you mentioned it @D.Draker Hope you guys and everyone are doing well.

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
so .. been enjoying the deadly Serpent today and nothing venomous has happened as of yet :o But, have I (totally) gone bonkers (the emphasis on "totally") is there still google telemetry in this and is this still trying to go through https://disconnect.me/ ? Apparently, I'll have to dig out my (trusty old) 52.9.1 prefs.js because just glancing at it, its doesn't mach my St52 profile. Did MC not remove all this before it was abandoned? I goofed up my clipboard this morning when I was dizzy and can't take a screen grab until fix it, but on youtube and other videos, there is no control buttons even with a clean pristine profile. Or maybe I've started too early on the eggnog ... kidding, of course. -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
For some reason ( I guess updated "security" reasons ) the latest Serpent is slower (for me, at least) so I also use an older version, still. Serpent 52 Build ID: 20211110012942 Seems to be better in comparison. I didn't scrutinize the changes after that build and don't know exactly what was changed (Updated ) EDIT: You guys have me curious, so I'm going to give 55 another shot and see without these new upcoming changes. Just my spotty recollection, there were no button on videos. -
I tried disabling Canvas 2d as I'm having the typing in the address bar lag issue, still ... ugh. Same! No crashes whatsoever with DEP turned off. Also - flags. chrome://flags/#disable-accelerated-video-decode (disabled) chrome://flags/#disable-cast-streaming-hw-encoding (disabled) And: --disable-gpu Please don't forget those registry modifications that (both) @NotHereToPlayGames and I use ... could help you get more out of your system. https://msfn.org/board/topic/182647-my-browser-builds-part-3/page/77/#comment-1209242

I'm thinking about moving back to my home planet form another galaxy, I'm not from this earth, you see.
