  1. This may sound stupid, but this is a proven method to help someone decide. First search around the internet for the latest Mobo's with XPsp2 support, that also supports DDR4 or 3. Grab a piece of paper and write down all the possible pros and cons of upgrading. Then look at you list then decide if the pro's out way the cons. This is a proven tactic to decision making.
  2. I know I am a KernelEx user myself. Mainly developers have issue with it. +1 jaclaz Google translate (am I wrong). In his defense though not everyone has the time to learn Italian just to respond to one message or in general. Its tough to learn a language. (I know you just kidding)
  3. That would be me, but I dual boot Windows Me and Crunchbang Linux (separate hardrives of course). I only use Crunchbang to get Malwarebytes for extra-protection .
  4. That is something a lot of us need . Surprised no one stated this, but a good modern web-browser that natively works, and supports html5 would be nice. Sure you could use kernelEx, but not everyone likes it, or uses it.
  5. You can always download the .taz file from SeaMonkey's download site for Linux. You don't have to use the distro's downloader.
  6. Good job on the service pack. When I used 98 your service pack was important to my computer. I don't want to admit it but it's true that our community had died a bit. I hope someday when you leave someone will take up the project. Who knows maybe after 10th-11th grade I will.
  7. I know that's why people made things like kernel-Ex for Windows Me. I'ma try and find this persons post. When I do I'll post it here.
  8. That is very good to know. Do you have a 98 or windows me Virtual machine, and if you do how well does it run. I use opera 12.02, but don't like how I cant add to the speed dial.
  9. I hope you enjoy your stay.
  10. I think someone here claimed that windows 7 updates will work with no issue on windows vista. (He/She said they tried it and it worked)
  11. Nice this is wonderful. Personally Im not in need of something like this, but would really like one, so I can return to opera 10.63
  12. with XP its same story believe or not my custom nlited XP SP3 with all prettyness enabled still uses ~80 MB RAM cold I can be believe you. The amount of junk put onto these OSes are insane. I wounder how many of the changes between vista, and 7 were just junk.
  13. Well yet another reason to use an old OS. Just as I thought when I saw the benchmark.
  14. Now, I question if the article was well researched, as it sticks to my feeble mind that something has been said around here about the embedded being supported for a few more years. That being said here is another quote: Just found it interesting and thought I would point it out. Could this be what you're thinking of? --JorgeA That could very well be what I was thinking of. bpalone It probably is. This one was talked about a lot here, and I own one.
  15. Pidgin 2.6.6 --Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows-- http://www.oldapps.com/pidgin.php?old_pidgin=62#download-section
  16. Interesting indeed. I'll look deeper into those links, and those books. Though, a thought came into my mind. Windows XP is a really old OS. So it would make sense for it to be faster on newer supported systems. It has less resources. Its like the same reason why Me is faster than XP, less resources. Seems to be a no contest.
  17. I would like to have a current definition of "advanced". The far more definitely does not apply, IMHO. I see essentially the exact same codebase with a bunch of minor adjustment/changes, 2 or 3 of which either make no sense or are of no use. jaclaz Curious now. What code base was changed from nt 5 to 6.
  18. My apologies. I didn't realize that you were testing SeaMonkey. I thought that you were comparing Firefox and internet explorer. That is interesting indeed. do you have no script installed. did you tweak the browser.
  19. I got a PM and this is what he said. This is very important if anyone wants to try this. EDIT: I forgot to say he doesn't use me anymore. It was a virtual machine.
  20. Here's that video I was talking about. Biology is cool. I really want to be a microbiologist. EDIT: of I would like to point one more thing about the Moss piglet. You extremely underestimated the power of the tardigrade. they can last 120 years without water or food, and probably even more.
  21. OT, but if space life is your interest monroe then you should read into the tardigrade. Its the most resilient animal on the planet. It can even survive space. I would provide a video, but I'm currently at school.
  22. Which is just about half-again your estimate, Flasche, but mathematically sounder, IMO, with all due respect. That is ok. I should of found the area, circumference, surface area, and/or volume. I'm still a student (Algebra 2)
  23. Amoeba Proteus is .5 millimeters at its maximum size. The ocean giant one 20 millimeters. 20 *.5 = 10. Move decimal over two places, and boom. This new ameoba is 1000 times bigger than its puny cousin. The average American is 70 inches (5' 10''). Spinosaurus (largest theropod dinosaur) is about 700 inches long (about 58'') 700/70= 10. Move decimal over two places. and you got something about 1000 times bigger than us. Or you could look at this picture instead to get scared
  24. Yep , though there is a potential issue : http://forums.psychcentral.com/3126677-post8.html jaclaz That is very true. You would think that they would start to try to eat each other, but no they wont/cant. Normal amoebas live a couple day. How long can these giants live I dont know.
  25. I use google talk on my cell. Which has free calls in the us and canada. (Still paying for phone service unlease you use wifi) I like it since it gives me an option when certain people call me to give them a fake this phone is # is not valid, or does not exist. Never used it, except to annoy some friends...
