KernelEx Apps Compatibility List (New)
Flasche replied to xrayer's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
Thanks but let's rather call it the UPX fix and it would be nice if somebody could figure out why it works as there is certainly nothing "magic" about it. Good job loblo posted a link to your first post to the solution in the Vlc forums. -
Thanks. One more "tech" guy to not listen too.

In honor of windows XP. I made a little website with a countdown to windows XP death date. http://flasche.netai.net/Windows%20XP%20EOL.html EDIT: Yes I know I put two timers, and have a typo. :realmad:

My current Me machine mother board doesn't support the Pentium 4 microprocessors . Does anyone know a machine that does support the Pentium 4 ht 672. ( I really want that 3.8 GHz)

You most certainly beat my Firefox 3.2.68 setup. I think I'm download the latest 1.xx SeaMonkey to try it out.

http://small-pets.lovetoknow.com/rabbits/german-giant-rabbits I would love to get one of these guys as a pet, but I don't have the luxury to go to Germany and buy one. Does anyone here every heard/have one, and if you do can you tell me about it. These guys are just like most things I like, big. Here is a picture of one of the giants

I 'd suggest you build your own socket 939 system supporting AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX and equivalent Opterons running at up to 2.8Ghz. All those CPUs support SSE2, some support SSE3 too. Suggested high end motherboard with full 98/ME driver support: Asus A8V Deluxe (VIA chipset) MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (nForce3 chipset) might be worth a look too. Add to that 2GB of RAM (limited to 1995 in system.ini) and nVidia serie 6 or serie 7 GPU with no more than 256MB of VRAM and you'll have a very cool little system for using WinME. Thanks. The more options the better. Also I'm guessing that if I had 2 Gigs of ram Only 1995 MiB will be useable.

Alright one more thing. My current machine has 1 gig of Ram. Is that more than enough for a windows Me computer of my needs. (heavy web surfer)
-
Sorry, I guess I should know it already, but please do tell me: which cpu does your machine currently have? Mein has the AMD Duron [1600 MHz (12x133)] TYPO: Some german showed
-
Now should I try and upgrade my cpu of my current computer, or just get a new computer?
-
Thanks. But I thought there was a GiB limit? EDIT: Nope I was thinking of something else.
-
Is there one with 2.xx GHz computer.

Windows Me was/is the fastest OS I have ever tried or used. I remember how when I first tried using it as a VM because I did not want that "beta" os on my computer or even near my windows 98 ! I was shocked to see that with the same exact settings, and same web browser that windows Me outclassed it in speed. Heck it surfed the web faster than the Host machine did, which was at the time windows 7. I then updated the little bugger with the unofficial windows me SP and kernelEx. I liked it so much I removed 98 from my second main computer, which had 98 on it for almost 10 years!!! just to put Me on . I love 98 but Me is much better . As for windows 9 I cant see M$ pulling away from their Win8 disaster and they will somehow sneak metro into it.

Yup. --JorgeA The new kinect is one of the reason I wont move of the 360 till the console is dead. I just really hope the new halo comes out for 360 too.

I'm thinking about replacing my Custom PC stop and shop computer with a "modern" computer that supports windows Me. I'm looking for a computer in the 2005-8 era for that era seems to my best bet for a very high end 9x computer. What computers (desktop) would you recommend for me to get.

Just wait 'til TVs come standard with a webcam that can look around the room. "Internet of Things," anyone? --JorgeA You mean like the Xbox one the kinect is never off, and always watching. (I know you said tv)

My main computers are a Hp Pavilion p6510y- Windows vista x64,12 gigs of ram,2.8 gh, And the other one is my Custom built Stop and Shop PC- Windows Me (I also have crunchbang Linux on another HD but only there so I can get malwarebyte protection on Me),1 gig of ram,1.6 gh. I use both of my computers to heavily search the web. I am a heavy multitasker, and search the internet on one computer, while watching a video on the other. I have up to date antivirus, and anti-spyware on both computers, with a software firewall, and a router firewall. I use vista for modern games, and Me for old dos games like Battlezone. If security is your issue than look here http://secunia.com/community/advisories/product/ .

FileZilla 2.2.27 ---open source FTP client---http://www.oldapps.com/filezilla.php?old_filezilla=70#system-requirements

Peazip installer requires kernelEx in my experience so I would just use 7-zip. I'm pretty sure your right with the native 9x support for 7 zip too.

What surprised me is that apparently Iran has the most polluted city. Though it would make sense... a lot of oil there. http://science.time.com/2013/10/18/the-10-most-polluted-cities-in-the-world/

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-2588788/China-sells-BOTTLED-AIR-tourists.html This is really sad, and pathetic. I wouldn't be shocked if Chinese cities started keeling over from such pollution.

x64 Edition Updates Until 2015?
Flasche replied to Jody Thornton's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
I dont understand why this is such a big deal. Windows 9x has been dead for nearly 8 years and its still useable. Sure M$ might of forgotten about you, but not the 3rd parties. XP is still 2nd most popular OS out there. And since windows XP x64 is the 2003 code which still has time I don't understand the panic.
