  1. Besides the joke, I totally agree with keeping the little guys as pets. Besides being very criticle for microbiologist who can now studdy a cell and see deeper into teh body with out kililing it. I would really like an amoeba as a pet. It would be really interesting.
  2. In other words they are a really big amoeba. (amoeba is an interchangeable name for the species, or anything classified as Amoeboid) NOTE-- I know its from 2011, but I never heard anyone talk about it. . I found a video with the amoeba in it.

  4. I think the correct term would be port my error, but for unofficial updates.
  5. Nice to met you.
  6. Maybe, but I think the thing he wants is Ghostery (firefox/seamonkey app). It blocks scripts that track you. here are the settings for mine on SeaMonkey Ghost.bmp
  7. Sadly I cant blame you. In today's society having an opinion or the TRUTH gets you flamed and your rep destroyed . I don't know how but you my dear sir are a walking talking encyclopedia of information. I envy your knowledge . Since this link showed up twice I'm guessing this is the link I should look at, and look at it shall I.
  8. Let Metro stay in the codebase. Unless Windows 9 offers a way to banish Metro totally, utterly, and completely from the user's consciousness, I'm thinking that after Win7 I will be moving on to Linux. --JorgeA Well then you got six year, and I will be joining you. I'm sick of anything that has to do with windows 8. It was the worst operating system I have ever used.
  9. Of course that's how it happened in the first place. Now look at the mess. Hmm, but I was not accusing you I did say "I'm not yelling at you". I was referring to teachers, and professors. Are they all bad, of course not, but I personally seen a teacher in action trying to indoctrinate information into my class. It was a sad moment. Besides my generation is at huge fault. Mine is so bratty and ungrateful It makes me angry to just listen to them talk.
  10. And that is another reason why I prefer vista over 7. Since windows server 2008 r1 is vista based (NT 6.0) patches shouldn't be hard to transfer, and 2008 r1 end one day before windows 7/2008 R2. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170959-use-vista-after-2017/?p=1067721
  11. Well... I had xp, but now its mageia 3 linux. Would it be the same though.
  12. You could try this Ram Idle http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page4.html . I'm currently downloading it now for it seems promising. Also have you tried google chromium on windows 2000. Google chromium was the fastest browser I have ever used. Its faster than google chrome. Also its open source. The only issue is that you cant auto update, but I find that a feature. Updates can be found here if your interested http://chromium.woolyss.com/
  13. Its a net-book so it wont have a native cd drive, so I must use a usb one. Though I think Tommy is right for it says No valid CDROM drivers selected. I have no experience with AUTOEXEC.BAT/CONFIG.SYS. I'll follow your links and advice to try and follow through and see how it goes. Warning opinion starts here---The reasons why things are the way they are today, is because of past generations spoon feeding the younger generations so much that now my generation just expects an answer to be there. Crocks are leading the media and tell us its OK to watched, and Bad is cool good drools. The world's freedom is being stolen from under our noses. Political parties are so corrupt (Like they did anything anyway) that no side can be trusted.---opinion end. I'm not yelling at you or anyone, but just stating my thoughts, and curious to see others.
  14. Yes and it showed firefox was less secure, even if it was by one.
  15. Occasionally I will try to see if Windows Me would run on one of my acer aspire one aoa150s, but The install doesn't work. It tells me there are no drivers. Anyone know if its even possible for it to run, and not be a lost cause for me to constantly try. It came with windows xp 32 bit. My snid is 84718388625 http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
  16. If this works as advertised, it'll be a halfway step toward the type of choice-of-UI concept that we've been calling for (where the user could decide which UI or UIs, Metro and/or Desktop, to install on his machine). --JorgeA Windows 8 = windows 1 windows 8.1 = windows 3 windows 8.1 u1 = windows Chicago build? Its fun watching Microsoft trying to reinvent the 95 UI. At the pace their going to reinvent in time for windows 9.
  17. After looking around in the comments for some more info I found this little things that you would like Tommy
  18. I'd beg to differ.I have heard that ME is very unstable, since it combined some new NT elements over DOS,and it has been criticized as one of the worst tech products ever. However, I have never used it myself, and don't have needs for DOS, so it could be good on top of that. Besides Win 3.1, ME is the only Windows I don't use/ have never used. I didn't even use it back in the day. When ME came out, I was just a year old. I could try it, and see for myself. Do you think I should? As for the AV, I will see my options. Yes you should. I recommend that you immediately after install to upgrade ie to 6 or 5.5 sp2. There is a Me service pack around here somewhere that will install the important updates.
  19. Fantastic, just imagine the possibilities. That tiny camera could watch your reaction while a tiny microphone -- also installed for safety reasons of course, to check for distracted driving -- takes in the station you're listening to. (No no, it wouldn't actually RECORD what you're listening to, let alone what you're saying, rest assured that it would only capture the metadata of station call letters and time of day.) A shill for a future president comes on and your face starts twisting in fear, anger, sadness, disgust, and suspicion. The camera duly records these reactions... Oh, what could possibly go wrong with the use of this technology?? --JorgeA How about the Nissan Pivo http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/PIVO2/ .
  20. I'd beg to differ You should check out this http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171240-the-updated-mini-list-of-win98me-software/ . There are a list of antivirus programs some that still are updated and some not. Also I would look at clam sentinel if you use clamwin. It gives clamwin a heuristic scanning, and a real-time scanner. Yes that it would be amazing. As I stated, I contacted the YouTube account, and awaiting his answer for a more in depth answer on what he did.
  21. Opera isnt slow for me, but anyway yes I find this amazing, and I pmed the person who made the video to get more info on what he did to install it. Personally though I would like to find the chromium version of chrome he used for open source reasons. I wounder if you can install the new chrome updates on the modified chrome version. I cant wait for his answer.
  22. I was searching around on youtube and bumped into this interesting little video. Imagine the potential of this. Sure it was slow, but the just imagine what a tweaking can do. (Not my video)
  23. http://www.browserscope.org/?category=summary&v=top&security_results=postMessage%20API=1,JSON.parse%20API=1,toStaticHTML%20API=0,httpOnly%20cookie%20API=1,X-Content-Type-Options=1,Block%20location%20spoofing=1,Block%20JSON%20hijacking=1,Cross%20Origin%20Resource%20Sharing=1,Origin%20header=1,Sandbox%20attribute=1,X-Frame-Options=1,Content%20Security%20Policy=0,Block%20cross-origin%20CSS%20attacks=1,Strict%20Transport%20Security=1,Block%20reflected%20XSS=1,Block%20XSS%20in%20CSS=1,Block%20visited%20link%20sniffing=1 Interesting results. Firefox is less secure than IE 10 and 11 (Vanilla Firefox with no addons)
  24. http://www.ndtv.com/article/offbeat/uk-woman-marries-pet-dog-gives-a-kiss-to-seal-wedding-493743 Sadly this is true, but this isn't the first time someone married something strange.... Thankfully this wasn't a real marriage, but still.
  25. Microsoft copied what Ubuntu did. http://features.techworld.com/operating-systems/3337293/eight-features-windows-8-copies-from-linux/ . Apparently Microsoft didn't realize Ubuntu was flamed for their outrageous changes. I guess history really does repeat its self. EDIT: particularly the quote I was referring to
