  1. Or just use RyanVM's Update Pack.
  2. Get a router, use nLite, install a software firewall, don't use IE, and use your common sense.
  3. I'm running Opera 9 Final and no problems here. Maybe you should ask at the Opera forum...
  4. There's always someone who cares, even if he/she isn't able to shout it to out from a PC.
  5. Or 50 hours compressing a 3.8 GB game. I tried it. It was only going to save me 400MBs more than the Ultra compression under default word and dictionary size. I can go up to 272 word size but only 64MB dict. size because I have 1GB of RAM. My girlfriend has my other GB because her Samsung generic was causing her PC to shut off during load. On a lighter note, I was able to compress 1700 Adobe Photoshop plugins (which were 100+ MBs) to 700 KBs using 7-Zip on max compression. Isn't that something? I was also able to compress an administrator's install of Photoshop to 121 MBs.
  6. Ah, you're still young yet. She probably wasn't the right one. Unless you have some issue that she couldn't handle. In that case, just talking to someone about it helps a lot. If you wanna chat about it, grab my e-mail addy from my profile and add me. I'm good at listening. I'm offering because I know what it's like to lose someone you're really attatched to. When I was 17, I was with my first girlfriend and she broke up with me. Man, what an emotional trip that was...
  7. I only heard it over the radio in the car. My girlfriend and I are both 21 and we heard it.
  8. The Google bar inside the Opera browser.
  9. Yeah, I remember when my girlfriend and I used to live in our old apartment and there was a fire in one of the most upper floors in an apartment building across two streets and down some from where we lived. You could see dozens of vehicles ranging from fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, etc. It was on the news back at the time too. Fires are usually to watch, as long as no living creature is burning. Cheers.
  10. Anyone know about alternative software to view/edit those types of files other than M$ Office or OpenOffice? Thanks, Jeremy
  11. ALright, now I know how many people on MSFN actually like/don't mind me. I can be well assured the rest hate me with a passion. Zxian, thanks for calling! Didn't get a lot of DMing in, spent most of the time with family. Now it's the 22nd... just another day... lol
  12. LMAO!!!
  13. I'm 21 on June 21st. Isn't that something... Cheers, Jeremy
  14. What is it with you bringing back old threads and webcam support. Two topics and no one has given you the walkthrough, because there IS NO walkthrough. Redo your ISO. The time you spent searching for these dead threads could have been spent doing just that.
  15. I'm not even going to use Vista until nLite is capable of slimming it down.
  16. I hope you didn't type that all out yourself, but copied and pasted it from some place else, considering how this topic has been debated to death over the past 5 years.
  17. Nero is the best, but if you want something free, I suppose CDBurnerXP is good ... unless it doesn't support the drive... lol
  18. Can everyone just... stop making this thread active? People have different views, it's our egos that drive us to respond once more and shove our opinion down the throats of others and hope newcomers adopt it as their own, etc. If you don't use the Internet and use only Word, music, video, then use an aged OS. If you're a security freak with an 80 GB HD, use nLited XP SP2. if you have absolutely no alternative, use ME. Link21 is boring? Anyone who replies to this topic is boring, myself included. lol
  19. That's a very old article.
  20. I assume it is a DVD Camcorder because .IFO is a file that corresponds with one or more .VOB files. You of course need the corresponding VOBs that the IFO is pointing to, otherwise nothing will play for you. Unless you and your son have a method of high-speed file transfer setup, it would take a long time to transfer VOB files, depending on how long the video is. Otherwise, he'd need to convert the VOB files to AVI (XviD or DivX) or MPEG before transferring them to you.
  21. Are you sure you didn't download it from KaZaA Resurrected? Or maybe just because it isn't the ultimate BlackIce? Kaspersky is one of the, if not the, best anti-virus, and it's hard to imagine another product made by those people would contain Trojans. Maybe your anti-virus just classifies them as trojans...
  22. There's one called Double Driver that's free and I think could easily be made for portable use, but the developer seems to have dumped it. It does the job, but it's like a half finished program. It doesn't have any options, it just scans for devices and backs them up. But it does have a few bugs to it. I use Driver Genius myself, which isn't free.
  23. Better protection, huh? Riiight....
  24. Just download the Norton Removal Tool, run it, restart and install Kaspersky.
  25. Jeremy

    Slow Shutdown

Or just disable all but the 5-10 Services you actually need. Also, depending on the software you have installed. Norton?
