  1. I spoke too soon. I eventually found the file and used it with oscdimg, so my new x64 ISO booted successfully in VMware. Thanks anyways fizban2. Any suggestion as to which program is best for buring the ISO file to a DVD-R? I was planning on using Nero, seems to work good compared to most burning applications.
  2. Long story short, I have the source files for Vista x64 edition and am trying to make a bootable DVD. Part of the process for creating a bootable DVD (from what I have read on the forums) using oscdimg.exe is to utilize the etfsboot.com file. However, I do not have that file in my boot directory. I have the following: en-us(dir) fonts(dir) bcd boot.sdi bootfix.bin bootsect.exe cdboot.efi memtest.exe I attempted making a bootable disc using the cdboot.efi file, and oscdimg ran through the entire process completing successfully. However, when attempting to boot using the resulting .iso file in VMware, It freezes up when trying to boot. I have the source from Vista x86 edition which includes the etfsboot.com file. Would copying it over into the x64 boot directory potentially work? If not, any other ideas?
  3. Is there any way I can allow the outbound traffic out? It seems it is my OS that is not allowing the bot to connect, rather than the actual IRC server itself.
  4. I have a Windows Server 2003 box that I run for various reasons such as storage, webserver, FTP server, etc. I also run an IRC bot for someone and after a recent patch (actually more like a month ago) the bot stopped connecting. I am curious if it is one of the recent windows updates that has caused the problem. If it was one of the recent windows patches, what would I need to modify to allow the bot to reconnect to the server? Is there a way I can keep the security updates but edit the registry somehow, or maybe some network policies? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    Slow Shutdown

Those fixes you listed seemed to do the trick. I run NOD32 for an anti-virus, seems to be much more cut down and efficient than Symantec AV programs. I found that Registry Tweaks txt file on the forums, i'm sure that will help me out bigtime when modifying my next windows installation with nlite. Thanks for the help. EDIT: Well I guess I am cursed. After the intitial reboot (which was extremely quick) I have gone back to the extremely slow reboot times. It took approximately 70 seconds from the time i clicked OK on the restart computer dialog box until the time it actually closed the desktop and shut down. I don't know what is causing this, so I will keep researching. If anybody here has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks. EDIT: I went through some microsoft tutorials on how to perform a "clean boot", therefore isolating the problem. Turns out it was my iTouch software for my logitech keyboard that was causing the long shutdown time. Beware the iTouch software. Ok now i'm really done.

    Slow Shutdown

I'm running Windows XP which I modified with nlite. Ever since I installed this version, the shutting down or restarting takes approximately 2 minutes. I found that setting the pagefile to clear could be a problem, but I checked it in my registry and it is set to 0. What else could I check to fix this problem?
