7-Zip

Does anyone know how to set up 7zip not to extract to the Temp folder and then to the actual destination folder, but to the dest. folder first? I hate having to spend 2x the time on decompression...
2. I played Oblivion with 2 GBs of OCZ PC3200 DC RAM and then gave 1GB to my gf's PC, played it again for a couple hours and noticed NO difference in the game's performance whatsoever.
3. Well, Fridge mentioned that if you played HL2DM, team-based play would be fun. He told me how you are when you play and you seem a lot like myself. Like when it comes to the game, it's all serious and have a short temper if you're not having the best of luck in a particular match. Also, I know how it boosts the ego a bit when you get like 4-5 kills in a row, hence pwn your opponent. Anyway, you should give it a try. Fridge likes the game. Also, 120ms ping in TO is not the same in HL2DM. Fridge said that at 120ms you have to aim like 1cm infront of your opponent. In HL2DM at 120ms, there isn't barely any lag at all. I'm going to update the .7z of my game with Pro and the Mani Admin Plugin (for the UT/Quake sounds) and seed a torrent. Zxian will help me out there as well.
4. Did you experience any brief power shortages in the 5 mins duing printer switching?
5. Do a repair install on your system. That might fix the problem.
6. Go to update the driver for your USB ports and point it to system32 and drivers folder. if nothing is found there, insert your XPCD and browse that. Are you using Service Pack 1 or 2?
7. Running Win98SE on an AMD 64 4000+........ *shakes head*
8. The newest member is Fridge-RaideR. Also, we'll be getting into Team-Based gameplay soon. Myself, puntoMX, Fridge and hopefully wickerwolf and possibly CoRoNe. I also intend on challenging both Fridge and puntoMX to a Handicap Match. lol Anyone else interested? http://hosted.filefront.com/JeremyofMany (I'll be adding some new videos here in the next few days, they're getting better and better so keep checking back daily.
9. If i wanted that file, I would expand it from my source, not Google it. And I did expand it into my system32 folder, the tab did not show up. As I also already mentioned, I checked Remote Desktop in nLite's Compatibility menu off and 5 items from the remove list were hidden. I've tried ISOs from 3 different XP Pro SP2 sources with the same result on all of them. Zxian suggested it might be a driver issue, but I doubt it.
10. Got enough stuff installed? I would LOVE to get my hands on your system, I really would.
11. yeah, same concept as Deep Freeze. Another way to surf safer is to just install Sandboxie and run IE/FF/Opera/Etc within it.
12. Hmm, I suppose I'll have to check that out when it's released. But... I don't think anything could replace my beloved HL2DM.
13. That is by no means, a crappy computer.
14. if you're not willing to wait, I definitely say go for Intel Core Duo right now. But I think the best thing to do is to go with PuntoMX's advice and wait a few months. He does know what he's talking about. He's helped me pick out parts for both systems at home. I'm no expert on hardware so when I consider upgrades, I ask him first. As for HL2DM... we'll chat on MSN about that next time we're online at the same time.
15. Reatogo Builder is awesome.
16. You're going to get a different answer from everyone, really. If you have a 2.5 GB MPEG-1 and want to fit it on a 700 MB CD, just use VirtualDub and XviD and use the bitrate calculator to determine the maximum you can use without exceeding the capacity of the CD, encode it using 2-pass. Play it on your PC to see if you're happy with it. If so, burn it to CD. if not, give us a shout again on the forum and provide a screenshot of a frame so we can see the quality you might be potentially concerned with.
17. How come you only say these things to me on MSFN? But yeah, I figure as long as I have a good Acronis backup, I'm good.
18. So you don't use a software or hardware firewall?
19. Exact problem I'm having today. Sorry to bump an old thread, but it seems justified considering my frustrations as of late, with this and several other things.

nLite v1.01 Final

I'm still getting this problem. I have no idea what causes it. In VMware the install goes fast, and Remote Desktop is there. Physically, the install goes slow, I think that part has something to do with my resolution settings during install, but Remote Desktop is nowhere to be found after install is complete despite keeping it checked in Compatibility.
21. None of you come close to Zxian's desktop setup.
22. ConvertXToDVD can convert PAL to NTSC, I believe.
23. I think $1000 is a **** good price for an upgrade. $5000 is utterly insane, but when you consider that number and look back at $1000, it doesn't seem so crazy.
24.
I use dc++, I am a member of several private hubs, so you know you wont get viruses or any other crap. Daughter put Kazaa on recently and killed windows stone dead
That's why you should have imaged the harddrive and restored it after she did that. Such a quick problem solver. People don't understand how utterly simple the process is. But KaZaA... wow...that's like taking your computer and putting it underneath a rotted log in the woods and leaving it there for a day.
