Are you running low on actual disk space? Are you sure your harddrive is physically/mechanically healthy? With it happening constantly and with multiple programs, I think the best thing to do would be to backup your personal/important files and reformat/reinstall.

Hey, XPero, I have two suggestions for registry programs. 1. A tool that can "capture" all registry keys by any given process/program and record just those registry keys to a .REG file. 2. A tool that can "redirect" registry calls to backed-up hives stored, for example, on a USB stick. This idea occurred to me when I was thinking about the possibility of installing software on USB sticks which require Services to be entered into the reg. I mentioned this to Zxian a few days ago. I realize the backed-up hives would need some way of connecting to the host system's OS in order for the Services to work correctly and allow the program to function normally as if it were installed on the host system's registry hives. Is such an idea totally unfeasible, or what? Cheers, Jeremy

In regards to Activation info, I believe that's all stored within the registry, which would have been removed if you had used the Windows Installer Cleanup tool I posted above. Just search for the folders named Adobe Photoshop and delete them.

I recently had a problem with Adobe Premiere Pro v2.0 where I tried to uninstall it but the uninstaller would give some sort of "interruption" error message. I figured this was due to some screw up in the registry. Well, I then stumbled onto this. Clicky this linky Once I used this, deinstallation/reinstallation worked like a charm.

Still planning to update this tool, Nuhi? It's really cool.

Defragmenting your Hard Drive(s)
Jeremy replied to Shindo_Hikaru's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
Regardless of what strain you put a harddrive through, it is supposed to last several years. When it dies, get a new one and hope for the best. -
Ok, you seem very confident and decisive on what you want, so I think you don't need to post anymore. You need reassurance?

To test nLite ISOs or to test a certain program, record screenshots, etc.

I have Kaspersky and never have any problems updating in seconds (longest time is 1 minute).

Which is why I thought puntoMX would share his knowledge on IRQs. Perhaps this site will help you.
-
hehehe, we took numerous IRQ tests in college just to memorize them and I never got them. But I do know that there are 15 main IRQs and after that there are many, many more, but are "virtual IRQs" for XP. Basically, if they are both using the same IRQ, you can go into the BIOS and free up an IRQ that corresponds with hardware you may not use. Not entirely sure, though. I'm not familiar with much beyond that point, but I know puntoMX does. He's on his way.

Ok, so it's obvious it has something to do with traffic incoming/outgoing. Are you using the latest versions of drivers for your hardware? If a recent update to a particular driver has resulted in frequent BSODs (as you stated everything was fine last week), try reverting back to a previous version of the driver. Are you using an onboard ethernet adapter or card? As for your concern about software to test all hardware, the best I could find was a trial version of BurnInTest v3.0, available here. Ok, you edited your message as I was editing mine. Not so obvious now. But for the majority of issues, it seems traffic-related. I used the WD diagnostic tool in college, never had a problem with it back then. Data Lifeguard, right. if you have difficulty with that problem, I'd also suggest using Ultimate Boot CD v3.4 (download from another working PC, burn to CD, boot to it. I believe it has harddrive diagnostic tools, not 100%. I can verify that when I get home. There's also GeekSquad Boot CD. In all honesty, I'd say it's your ethernet controller/card and main harddrive. Not 100% but that is definitely what it sounds like, considering you get 2 BSODs and the reasons I got from that website.

Windows STOP Messages Perhaps one of the system critical processes in Task Manager is somehow being terminated? Perhaps some sort of malware of terminating one? Or maybe it has nothing to do with malware at all. I'd recommend you test your RAM with Memtest and your harddrive with whatever diagnostic tool corresponds to the brand of your HD. Also, if you want to test your CPU, try Prime95 on Torture Test for 24 hours and see if any errors are produced. Perhaps, try to image your HD with Acronis/Ghost so you have a backup incase your OS needs to be wiped out. Does it seem to occur at suspicious timed intervals? When you load a certain application? Any pattern at all you can notice? Also, Zxian's post in this thread has good advice regarding troubleshooting BSODs.

Although, it does score 99.4% on AV Comparatives... but so does Kaspersky. I won't be recommending this anti-virus to anyone.

Whatever works for you. NortonKiller gives the same result. Besides, killing Norton is a lot funner than pretend-installing it. -
~50MBs in total. I know I have 2GB of RAM but Kaspersky and NOD32 don't take up nearly that much, and very few processes.

Yeah, curse you.

I installed it in VMware and looked in the task Manager. I'll make some screenshots tonight.
