  1. You know, correct me if I'm wrong, but that really looks like spamming.
  2. I don't see why you post that excessively large screenshot for almost every post you make concerning software. Also, there is nothing wrong with Acronis True Image, I use it myself. It works perfectly. Whichever imaging software does the trick for the user, is all that matters.
  3. FileZilla is very easy to setup. I can post screenshots of how to set it up later on if you'd like.
  4. Everyone's got a different answer...
  5. I really don't get why people emphasize on a *latest and greatest* sound card. I'm using my SBL from 3 years ago, have played HL2, COD2, FEAR, Prey, etc... and don't have any issues with sound and whatever you guys call "positional" or "directional" audio, I can year stuff and recognise where it is. I really don't get it...
  6. Untrue. Steve Gibson (Windows Security Guru/Expert, Homepage) recommends both hardware and software firewall. This is because most routers can only block incoming Internet debris from reaching your PC, but do not monitor outgoing. Anything you download from a p2p or a website could potentially contain a virus or worm which may try to connect outward, which only a software firewall could block.
  7. FileZilla which is free and is also portable.
  8. Already did. It tells you which entries are created/changed/etc, but doesn't capture the files to a REG or TXT file.
  9. Doesn't work for me.
  10. I have a program that is rather huge and takes a long time to install the files. I run it in Sandboxie with no problems, so I guess it doesn't create a Service. Anyway, does anyone know how I can capture all registry entries created/changed throughout the installation process, preferably within Sandboxie? I want to make a self-extracting archive that will also import the registry entries after the files have been extracted. I'd really appreciate some input from you guys considering I've been at this for a long time. Cheers, Jeremy
  11. Yeah, I suppose i should go ahead and test another bloody firewall program in VMware before my posts meet your satisfaction. Noted. Oh, and I'll just go ahead and be judgemental in saying that it seems it focuses on the GUI.
  12. Looks a lot like Norton, and it has "shampoo" in the name. WTF? Outpost.
  13. I do the same on one of my machines, but it's one that I don't store data on, don't use for banking, etc. People who know what they're doing can get away with it, but as a mod I'm not sure you should be suggesting this is a good idea, without saying why. People new here might follow by example, and get in trouble. He's not suggesting anything. The way you interpret what he says is up to you, not him.
  14. Yeah, that would be the problem as well. lol
  15. Put in your OS CD and reinstall the OS, not reformat, just reinstall...
  16. I'd recommend that you replace the PSU (or use a can of compressed air outside if you have a lot of dust inside the case. Go and download Ultimate Boot CD 3.4 Basic and boot to a CD, test your RAM and HD. Also, you may just have a totally bloated harddrive with lots of garbage lying around. How many programs do you have installed?
  17. I see, well the majority of users are always creating, changing, deleting, uninstalling, etc... DeepFreeze is most practical on workstations in cybercafe for example. But if you do none of that stuff than cool.
  18. I did a Boot Time Defrag (offline) with PD8 without any problems.
  19. Anyone running a Windows based PC can always benefit from a defragmenter.
  20. Well, it's a release candidate, not final, but worth a shot.
  21. Well, there doesn't need to be an entry for each torrent client, but Torrents in general.
  22. Malware/viruses, never. Updates = RyanVM's Update Pack and AutoPatcher or Jcarle's WUD. What I meant was, I don't like using other shells because I don't like having to get used to navigation of my PC all over again, when I can just use explorer.exe like I've been using for the past 12 years and know where to go.

  24. Older machines also take longer to defrag on smaller HDs.
  25. He's probably not going to do any OCing, he probably just wants it because it has the biggest number of them all.
