  1. Thanks for that. I love stripping Norton off slow systems.
  2. I told you dozens of times, whether the ping is 1ms or 150ms... you can't beat me.
  3. Uhm, don't be afraid. You can try it first, it won't blow your PC up... at least I don't think it will. Be strong, brother.
  4. o_O You make it sound like this is normal for any drive. C'mon, let's get real here. Let's wait for him to do tests and let us know. It's silly to post and say "it's probably this and that" when we do not know for sure.
  5. Well, just takes a bit of getting used to. But if you've been playing Nintendo games all your life, then it might be quite difficult. lol. Had two rounds with Fridge Raider on dm_killbox_ultimate and pg_overwatch tonight. I won both rounds, got some pretty interesting shots. Fridge is the best person I've played with so far. Compared to him, puntoMX is a n00b. You hear that punto? You're a n00b.
  6. Run tests on one piece of hardware at a time, just like Zxian recommended.
  7. Well, that's an average bitrate. Nothing actually gets encoded at exactly 1300 for example. It could be 1292 - 1308 or something. Anyway, why not just use VirtualDub to encode your AVIs? XviD is also better quality than DivX, IMHO.
  8. How much RAM do you have? 128 MBs? if you have 1 or 2 GBs, let it use your RAM, otherwise you wasted money like so many others. Especially those people who think they can only obtain happiness with a $5000 machine, but that's a different story. Takes a few seconds to load... so does nLite but we don't hear people whining about loading times for that now do we? No, because it's a fabulous program. And if programs coded with .NET are crap, than that means nLite is crap, huh? I wouldn't say so...
  9. Feels nice to brag yourself up, eh?
  10. I stopped being so picky with .NET. I just installed 2.0 and now I don't have to worry about whether nLite or something else will load up properly. It may take 50MBs or so, but I have 320 GBs, so my mind has let go of it. More important things.
  11. Impulsive buyer, lol. I won't touch Vista until nLite can slim it down. That much memory to run an OS is ridiculous. You, insane? Questionable. The 7800 GTX has a lot of bad reviews, I was going to get it at one point back when i was getting my new PC (which obviously isn't new now) but then I realized that even though the numbers were high, I'd still be happy with something less and cheaper, and I was and still am. My GeForce 6800GS serves me well. You play Half-Life 2 Deathmatch?
  12. Well, your new hardware will certainly give you speed... no doubt about that...
  13. yeah, well, there's more to a case than how you arrange cables. But I have mine "managed" pretty well if I do say so myself. I should take new pics. Not that I'm trying to show off or anything...
  14. The main thing I totally would have disagreed on there is the 7800GTX. Also, 4 GBs of RAM? What do you do with your PC? Freakin' in...sane...
  15. It's very well known for crashing... I hate the game myself.
  16. The Sims 2? LMAO... couldn't resist. No, but seriously, AutoCAD is probably your best bet.
  17. I agree, because MPEG-2 looks better at the same bitrate than MPEG-1 and AVI more at the same than MPEG-2. The new x264 codec looks better than XvID but isn't 100% stable and requires more CPU usage than XviD. Plus, I'm sure for hardcore quality tweakers and people who know their configs more than others can get the best quality out of their bitrate, especially if they are AviSynth users... But first rule of thumb... it all depends on your source.
  18. I have the Antec P180 and Zxian has a Stacker. There are only a few things I dislike about my case. 1. It's heavy (but how often do I really need to move it, unless I go to a LAN party or something. 2. The inner design is kinda iffy, but it's built for airflow/ventilation. 3. The front panel and side panel are a bit flimsy. I removed the front panel because it restricts the airflor of the front 80mm fan. There are two air filters on the front which I love. There is a 120mm fan on the back as well as the top so you could actually get two fans of slower RPM and having both of those as exhaust fans compensates for slower fans (I like quietness). There's a lot of room inside the case. I don't have to twist and turn at all inside. For info on the Stacker, ask Zxian. His Stacker is half his size, lol.
  19. Yeah, having the ability to scan a drive without any hooks to Windows files intact feels pretty superior, especially when using an awesome scanner like NOD32 and/or Kaspersky.
  20. From Googling it sounds like it isn't supported by Windows XP.
  21. Regardless, there are many who can't sleep without having the latest alphas and betas of everything they use, including their actual OS.
  22. Oh, the screenshot... yeah well that's in TO. DigeratiPrime would make a rug out of me in Ut2004 in no time, but in HL2DM it's MUCH different than UT2004. It's slower (much more realistic) and there are instant kills if you have good aim.
  23. Well, each game is different of course. Just takes a bit of getting used to. However, I've noticed that out of all the games I've played, Hl2DM Pro 1.7 is the most realistic, both physics and gameplay wise. Also, HL2DM and CSS are very little alike when it comes to actual playing styles. I hate CSS.

Thanks, buddy, I'll give that a try when I get home tonight. (Working for another 7.5 hours...)
