1. My 19" LCD from Dell has 4 half dead pixels. I just ignore them.
2. Take apart your keyboard and clean out any dust. If its clean and not working, you probably have a fault keyboard. After that, get a new one... If you don't want to take it apart, then use a can of compressed air.

Hmm, out of 22 views of this thread, no one but yourself has voted. I don't think it's such a good idea that you create a poll based on something so specific to your personal interest. Something more general would get more attention. Good luck thinking of something that isn't already in the Poll Center, though. Cheers, Jeremy
4. Adobe Acrobat Reader replacement = Foxit PDF Reader
5. You're not aloud to speak? I likely interpretted that wrong. You can speak, but can only talk about pics and maps? 5 people... should have giev you 3 or one out of 3. Just research, gets your material organized and run in there screaming and kicking. Don't kick the teacher though, 25% deduction for each bruise. I don't know what I'm talking about. Good luck. Cheers PS: Obviously meant to be more humorous than serious...
6. Heh, I have a Dell Dimension 8300. There have been 7 revisions of the BIOS ROM that I just download, double click and reboot and it's all done. Pretty simple process for my system.
7. I tired Reg Explorer and expanding a really long section in tree view caused explorer.exe to crash. Even with the additional library files. Buggy POS. I like the looks of Registrar Lite. Though, since Regexplorer, looks can't be the only thing that cause me to switch. I'd like an address bar.
8. Windows Messenger, c'mon... old and full fo security holes! Use something decent like Trillian. I use nlite and I don't even have Windows Messenger or 440+ Mbs of other Windows bloat anyway.
9. Even BlackViper made a statement long ago about switching from OE to Thunderbird and said he was very impressed.
10. Wow...27 MBs....that's a whole 27 Mbs that I always have free by not running antivirus.
11.
I like Shareaza, and I got two out of 3 connected with SP2 but I forgot the password to my router so I can't configure it for now and that's what's blocking certain needed ports. Anyway, I hate WinMX and mIRC is cool...very command-like...
Crap, Posted twice about pretty much the same thing. Sorry about that.
12. PerfectDisk rearranges files on the HD according to how often you use the files. it also optimizes them so refragmentation doesn't occur as fast afterwards. PD All The Way! Screw the "live" Services, just defrag and schedule for shutdown afterwards and go to bed.
13. Now I'm 54%. Heh...
14. LOL, well no worries about the Maxtor drive. Only the DVC now. Thanks for the PMs. Cheers, Jeremy
15. I'll say this once: Live with it. Cheers.
16. Tryin' to make friends, eh? Hehehe, hey mine's jeremy_of_many@hotmail.com if you want to chat. I specialize at the nLite forum. Cheers.
17. So, this isn't for real? or..? I mean if you expect your wife to say Happy BDay when you wouldn't think twice about cheating on your wife. But, also... what a weird and unlikely scenario for your wife to know you'd end up with the secretary in her apartment. The wife should have expected the guy to be nude. lol
18. Treeman, I PMed you. Take it to PMs from now on, shall we? Or...? Camera - Panasonic PV-DV953 Mini-DV Camcorder. The FireWire is a 3-Port Card. The characters on the front on the top right hand corner of it are: PN603-5-26 0206-5XC On the back there is a little sticker on the top left corner with the characters: C201103831 I also see "FireNet" all over the box it came in and on the CD with it (Which only contains a PDF file, no useful files). Picture
19. 250 MBs in enough for me.
20. Ouch. Heh...
21. I also have a D-Link 604. However, I have set a password to it and don't remember it. Anyway of clearing the password or at least a way to recover what it is? PuntoMX told me to reset mine and I did that but it didn't fix anything. *sigh* Cheers, Jeremy
22. Didn't work for me. Guess I'll be looking for repair shops tomorrow. Thanks, everyone! Cheers, Jeremy PS: Uploading, editing, encoding and burning DV is my favorite hobby!
23. Thanks, Treeman, but that didn't fix it for me. I have stated several times that I think you don't quite understand my problem. I think you're assuming I just can't capture with my DVC. Well, when I plug my DVC into my FireWire Port, normally I would get the New Hardware Wizard to pop up indicating that Windows has received a signal from my DVC and is ready to installl the Drivers necessary for it to function properly. Well, I do not get that New Hardware Wizard. The equivalent siutation would be if I were to plug my FireWire cable into a loaf of bread; nothing happens. Thanks for all your help, Treeman.
24. Thanks, Bart. I was trying to avoiid the brutal truth for a while but I come to terms with it. Where would I send a DVC in for repairs? I don't think the warrenty is still valid for it. Cheers, Jeremy
25. Treeman, thank you for the last options. I have nLited my system. As a result, I do not have SP1.cab, SP2.cab or a DLLCache directory. I also do not have arp1394.sys on my Home SP1 CD. Any workarounds for my situation? Can you send me your SP1 copies of those sys files? Treeman, I've been thinking...even with SP2 FireWire drivers and the complications you apparently had, didn't you at least get the New Hardware Wizard pop-up when you plugged your camera into your computer? You see with mine, I don't even get that. I got the SP1 drivers from a friend and registered that DLL. My PC still does not recognise my DVC when connected to the FireWire port. Well, is this the end of the road?
