  1. Absolutely. More resources for things that matter. Such as video encoding and playback.
  2. Yup, pretty soon we'll have genetic monsters resulted from experiments gone wrong because the scientist whose twisted ego led him to be full of himself and in a permenant state of naiveness and denial that anything wrong could possible happen. "Welcome to the Umbrella Corporation"... "Welcome to the UAC"...our recent development of the teleporter...*GAHH!!!* *blood curdled screams and this time the Hell does reach earth*...yup... I always knew I was meant for something in this world, guess I'll be training to send the force of evil to oblivion when I'm 40. I'm almost 20 now...20 years to go. Geez...what a short life... Guess I'll have to enjoy nLite while I can. *Kisses his arse goodbye* Jeremy
  3. There has never been a power outage in my apartment in the duration I've lived there and my my DVC and External HD used to work perfectly when connected to my PC via the FireWire, but one day they just stopped working and I can't get anything to show life to my PC through the FW ports. That is what I am telling you. There is nothing wrong with my appliances. And my FireWire card is good (because I mentioned I got it working last night and also because its a brand new card). I was shocked that the new motherboard did not solve this issue. Nothing odd appears in Device Manager. No !'s or ?'s. FireWire > 3 ports > 2 devices (no recognisation of hardware). And like I mentioned before, I am currently not using a nLited install. And yes, I do have my Chipset drivers installed properly.
  4. No, they don't. And if they did and I tried that, of course they would work. I'm been through most of this with other people before. There's something that's just not quite right. Any specific BIOS settings?
  5. No, those are the only devices I have that hook up to my FireWire. When I plug my DVC into it and turn it on, no New Hardware Wizard dialog pops up.
  6. It is offboard. I had to remove my sound card and put the FireWire in its place in order to get my PC to recognise it. Hmm, complications with the video card? Never heard of anything like that. It's two slots away from the videocard. Can you elaborate on this for me, please? IRQ Screenshot
  7. I reformatted with my original Dell XP Home SP1 CD...... This is not a problem that can be easily fixed with a reinstall. I have tried.... And FYI, when I do nLite Windows, I leave the FireWire drivers alone. Sorry, will use links to pics from now on. I removed my attached images.
  8. More mature and intelligent responses would be more appreciated at this point. Ok, I have figured out a few things since my last post. The "PCI Input Device" happened to be my sound card without installed Drivers. I successfully managed to get my PC to recognise my FireWire Card. However, MAXTOR should appear under Disk Drives, which it doesn't. I have my Maxtor HD hooked up properly, but no recognisation. Any ideas? Devices still won't show signs of life through my FireWire PCI card. The PCI card is there, but its not holding hands with anything connected to it. Any ideas?
  9. Ok, my primary use for my PC revolves around the combination of my FireWire Card and my DVC. On December 23rd, my FireWire simply vanished for my PC. Nothing in Device Manager except "Unknown Device". My external HD and DVC show no signs of life through the FireWire. I went and bought a new FireWire, no detection. I updated my BIOS, nothing. I got a brand new motherboard (same as old one) and put the new FireWire card in and nothing. I reformatted, NOTHING! I waited a month for my new mobo and I cannot believe that my problem is not fixed. Can anyone help me out?
  10. PerfectDisk defrags your MFT zone on restart. I guess it just has to happen that way for certain files to no longer by in use and therefore making defragmenting possible. It only take a few seconds and you're asked to reboot again. So take an extra 10 seconds of your life every week or so to do that. Don't be so picky.
  11. Does anyone know why East-Tec Eraser keeps reseting its own registry entries after i have changed them? I have checked the Permissions and they all seem to be fine. Can anyone help me out?
  12. I have always been fascinated by dreams. Some months I'll have the quickest and non-lucid dreams and wake up the next morning and not remember a thing. Other months I have a long series of extremely lucid dreams that I can vividly recall when I wake up. To best remember your dreams, the tip is to not move immediately after you wake up. I find my dreams often involve me seeing people from my past or new events that resemble things I've read or seen in movies. One thing that has always p***ed me off about certain dreams is when I dream I'm at a party with insanely gorgeous women in short skirts and etc...and I wake in on two girls going at it in the most sensual way I could possible imagine and I run off to fetch my videocamera and it ends up not working and finally when I'm about to record the beauties, I wake up. Other times I'm with a group of people sneaking into some military base. I had this dream a while back. It was the most....content dream I had ever had. I was running ahead of some friends, snuck past some Agent Smith's and went into this square room and above me was a glass ceiling and I could see the most fluid blue colors in the sky and there was this utter silence. It was like...music to my soul. I was utterly content. When I woke up I felt weird the whole day. See, we often Astral Prohect when we dream and we don't even know it. This is when our spiritual selves disconnect from our physical bodies and we visit the land of thoughts. Time does not exist and phyisal boundaries do not apply. I have flown many times in dreams. Sometimes in dreams I find it hard to move. I could go on and on like this for ages, but if you really want to figure out what your dreams are telling you, try as hard as you can to remember everything about your dream and write a journal entry. If you re-read and rethink it all day and go to sleep, you may find you have once again recreated that dream and may do something different or new and who knows what it will mean for you. Good luck. Cheers, Jeremy
  13. I know how students feel about teachers. There are no worse teachers than those at my old school (A.W.E.C. - Annapolis West Education Centre). I swear its the core of corruption and conspiracy there. I see right through all my teachers. I classify them all as absentminded and naive. But as for you still doing the same amount of work and getting lower grades, that's odd. Maybe your teachers notice you daydreaming and decide to be harsher with the way they mark to give you more incentive to succeed in school? I look beyond the system anyway. I got called to Sudent Services for voicing my opinion on an English test. The robots just say, "Doing it once is better than failing it and doing it all over again", when the crap that we do the first time is what I was finding the least relevance in. I mean, Romeo and Juliet...people PLEASE!!! Cheers, Jeremy PS: I'm 19, second semester of Grade 12.
  14. I write my Math 12 Provincial exam tomorrow. Please let me pass Math....please let me pass Math....
  15. Windows consists of more crap than bad files. Look at the bloat. That's why we have nLite!
  16. The best ad blocker is AdMuncher. You can type in small scripts to prevent entire sections of useless images from showing up. That saves a LOT of bandwidth.
  17. Jeremy

    Would it run?

Only one way to find out.
  18. Hi, Bing. I'm (as name states) Jeremy. I'm mostly active in the nLite forum. Welcome to MSFN.
  19. One of your spyware tools probably messed around with your ActiveX settings since those are what spyware loves to exploit in order to infect your PC. Why not go into IE and into the advanced settings and restore defaults?
  20. I use Firefox. My girlfriend uses Opera. I'm really surpised Firefox is v1.0. There are dozens and dozens of little bugs for different users. It takes a moment to start up and can be slow from time to time, but its got a favorable interface, is secure and customizable.
  21. Isn't that the same as saying you're dead inside due to depression and lonliness? lol
  22. Well, if this poll is of no interest, the mods can delete it.
  23. Message the user FDV about the file he modified called oe.inf. It allows you to reinstall OE without reinstalling Windows.
