  1. I voted No. This is a harsh topic indeed. I won't give any details. I rarely download, anyway.
  2. I use Zoom Player for media. 1By1 for MP3. I have tried MPC, BSPlayer, VideoLAN. VLC sucks no question. BSPlayer is alright except I couldn't find where to set it to play the file over again automatically (loop). MPC is great except everytime the file hits a high volume the audio thereafter goes down and never normalizes.
  3. I wasn't worrying over your choice at all. I use PD and that's what I will always use. You suit yourself, so do I. I know what PD does the best job compared to other defraggers.

  5. Stop being afraid of the System32! It's not as dangerous as everyone thinks! I have gone trhough every file in Windows. There is a lot of junk that can be removed. Do not tell a user what he/she can or cannot delete unless you know exactly what you're talking about.
  6. Can someone tell me why when I enabled my USB Stick in VMware it gets detected and shows up in Device Manager but not in Disk Drives and won't show up in Windows Explorer. Is there some kind of tweak to do this? A project I am working on would greatly benefit from my being able to transfer files from my virtual install to my physical install through a USB stick. Thanks, Jeremy
  7. Wow, I just looked at the INF and SIF file for the first time just now. They both look so simplistic... nLite and the registry don't seem so advanced to me anymore... If i had to choose between editing in a GUI or registry, I'd choose the registry.
  8. Uhm, you don't have to add support for Tabbed Browsing in Firefox.
  9. Everyone, just use the one you like the most. Case closed.
  10. There is a way...but it's not shall we say... "legal".
  11. 8-10 hours on weekdays. 12-14 hours on weekends. I'm a machine.
  12. Whilst I agree with the post in general, just one thing to say, nLite... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you dissing nLite? Well, if you prefer a bloated uncustomized Windows then suit yourself.
  13. Saraband, this is not the first time your biased opinions have angered me. You also dislike Firefox claiming that it is "ugly" and "slow". I have tried every registry cleaning program on the net and JV16 PowerTools is by far the best I have ever used. No flashy graphics or big buttons, just straight forward. I guess you think its ugly too so you say it sucks. DigeratiPrime, appearance isn't everything. Code is everything, as far as software goes. Sometimes, the best software for a particular purpose happens to be payware. Software doesn't suck just because it isn't free. I have used CrapCleaner before and I did like it, but not as much as JV16. For their next release they are finally implementing the Registry Defragmenter. I haven't found a single program (other than the bloated All-In-One Fix-It Utilities) that cleans and defrags the reg. As far as I am concerned, JV16 is the best. I don't try to pressure my opinions on others, but it angers me when people form opinions based on one small not-so-perfect detail about a program (its interface for example) or when they are just plain biased. Cheers, Jeremy
  14. Does anyone know the reg for disabling the Sound Volume icon in System Tray? [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\SysTray] "Services"=dword:0000001f I guess that's to enable it, what about disabling? Just turn the 1 to a 0? Confused because of the F at the end.
  15. Ok, so the CMDlines.tst goes in $OEM$. What about my actual reg file? Same folder? War, can you teach me about the RunOnce things? Gui, Ex, and the third one? What is T12? I'm a newbie at Unattended, obviously. I also want to be able to make it so certain applications will install during setup. Cheers, Jeremy
  16. So, I make a CMDLines.txt (wait, think there already is one) and put in [Commands] "REGEDIT /S Services.reg" And that's it? And if I have any reg tweaks, just throw them in too?
  17. I just want to know what to do with my Services.reg file so my Services will be configured my way at first boot. Can someone just give me the steps in point form, please? Thanks in advance, Jeremy
  18. http://www.macecraft.com/news/68/ Nothing but the best!
  19. Onboard Ethernet - using it right now Onboard Multimedia Audio Controller - disabled I have quite a bit of stuff in my BIOS disabled.
  20. Nothing drastic. I have "PCI Input Device" in DM but the only PCI slot is my sound card and I'm listening to MP3s right now. Any ideas?
  21. Not necessarily. If you have 512 DDR, the page file is a waste, unless you're a hardcore gamer, then you need 1 GB of DDR.
  22. Unless you do no gaming, you don't need a paging file. If you do, then uh... you need a paging file. Either that or 2x the RAM you have now. I would normally have 1 GB DDR but half of that is in my GF's PC for her Sims 2. (Argh!)
  23. The guys are right. Lose all the antivirus and spyware appz, switch to Firefox or Opera to prevent future spyware and purchase the latest D-Link Router. Also, you might try nLite to unbloat your OS and RyanVM's Pack and use nLite to integrate all the latest post-SP2 updates. However, most updates patch stuff that nLite removes from your install anyway. I use Firefox and have a D-Link DI-604 and don't use p2p very often so I don't have to worry about 5 or 6 anti-virus and anti-spyware appz consuming memory. Cheers, Jeremy
