Lack of instruction CMPXCHG16b is the problem. Then 8.1 x64 version is not an option but x86 version could run on it. This CPU is a 90 nm dinosaur good for running XP. My own dinosaur a P4 HT 631 3.00 GHZ (65 nm) can run up to Win10 (I already tested it using Buid 10240 x86 as it has only 2GB RAM), in fact it is my test rig. But another dinosaur I have P4 HT 531 3.00 GHZ (90 nm) can't run Win 8.1, lack of DEP, NX (if I remember well).

I'm using Office 2003 yet, I don't see a need for upgrade, when 2007 came out I hate the ribon, so decided to keep 2003. It does all I need to do, it can be installed from XP up to Win 10, tested by me, even if MS says it can not run on recent systems. When building VHD of Win10x64 Pro Compact mode Xpress8K I used the tricks to dissable hibernate and page file, all working fine, but there is another big file called Swap. I have been testing some Linux distributions as: Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Trisquel and Linux Lite. They can be run from an Iso on a partition on your HDD or from a USB stick, See my post here: http://reboot.pro/topic/20739-trying-ubuntu-xubuntu-trisquel-and-linux-lite/ After try all of them I found Linux Lite the one I like better, this OS is very compact and fast but has LibreOffice 5.0.1.2 and some other good applications preinstaled as Safety Copies and Lite Tricks, and some other you can download from it's own site and also from Ubutu too. It's menu looks like a Windows start menu. You can download PlayOnLinux (GUI front end for Wine) to let you install and run many programs and games that only run in Windows. Just to let you know I didn't have a single problem with drivers in two machines used to test this OS's installed on logical partitions of HDD's: MB Asus B75M-A, i3-3225 3.3 GHZ, 4 GB RAM DDR3 1333 MHZ & MB Biostar G41D3C v7.0, Pentium Dual Core E5300 2.66 GHZ, 4GB RAM DD3 1333 MHZ Actually both machines have Win 7 as main OS but I decided to give Linux OS's a new try, previous try was Mandrake Linux very long time ago, drivers problems was the cause of the failure then, obviously this PC's are not the same, but drivers is not a problem anymore. That happened to me recently when I restored a Ghost copy (made last year) of Win7 SP-1 Pro last week on same PC, there is no way to get updates, it can run for hours scanning the PC and no update is shown. I had to stop WU in order to be able to use the PC because of high resources use. I haven't found a solution yet.
