Hello people. My OS continues (after a few months) to claim that the "Windows security centre service can't be started". I've Google'd the issue several times, following guides and tutorials to get it working again but to no avail. I'm hoping someone here knows how to resolve this issue without having to suggest reinstallation of Windows.

Hi all! I made some adjustments in StartIsBack and now when I press the magnifying glass icon, which is used to search things in Windows 10, the search box is strangely cropped and some options are covered (as if the box scrolled down) I attach the image of this: https://imgur.com/q5hHIbc If more details are needed to solve this problem, please let me know. Thanks in advance

Hello StartIsBack is great But StartIsBack makes the Start menu icon larger than normal (like image), and that's inconvenient. How can this problem be solved?

Aero Glass for Win8.1+ 1.5.3 * hardcoded symbols patterns up to build 14393.953 * fixed caption misalignment when glow effect is disabled * added option to draw caption centered (HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM: CenterCaption (DWORD 0x0 / 0x1)) - if glow effect is enabled and caption is set to be centered, the glow effect will be drawn over whole frame width - do NOT report it as the bug! * changed IAT hooks initialization order * enable SeDebugPrivilege in aerohost process

Preventing Windows 10 and untrusted software from having full access to the internet Basically it is OpenBSD running in a Virtual Machine to block all outgoing traffic, but you can allow a browser as Firefox in order to have access to internet, or any other program you want. I found this info interesting and wanted to share it here: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/blogs/karsten/entry/Preventing_Windows_10_and_untrusted_software_from_having_full_access_to_the_internet?lang=en Best Regards Alacran

Since there is no Win10 unattended subforum I am placing this here: How to set the default program by a command (CMD) or Powershell or registery modification? I have searched a lot and only found a way to associate files to specific programs, but that will only add them to the context menu list (Open With...>): @echo onassoc .mkv=MPC-BE.AssocFile.MKVftype MPC-BE.AssocFile.MKV=c:\Program Files\MPC-BE x64\mpc-be64.exe "%1"pauseThe command assoc creates the file type in the registry, the command ftype associates the program. In this example, "MPC-BE" is just a name that I use, you can also use "MPCHC or MPC or whatever, just as long as it matches the same you use in ftype command. But HOW can we set default program? I am particularly intested in: PDF, video files, image editor (Paint.net), 7z/zip. Paint.net silent install arguments do work, but the ones that set the file type associations do not work in Windows 10. (again, only added to the context menu "Open With..." not the context menu "edit". In win7 it worked flawlessly).
