  1. Looks like that user account has been blocked on GitLab, so the filterlist doesn't update any more. Thanks for the update, AstroSkipper!

  2. Same for me, probably needs to make sure whether the portable flags are on. --disable-encryption --disable-machine-id some versions use --disable-encryption-win

  3. Dave, be on your guard with that "Thorium". Recently, there was a scandal with the author of "Thorium," something involving child abuse, and the files were inside that browser. The author had to acknowledge and came out with with a confession, all that after numerous attempts of denying it. I shan't post links, I don't want to get MSFN involved in that drama. And who knows what else is stuffed in that browser! All is easily googleable.

  6. The project (and all its associated files) was hosted on GitLab: Several hours ago, on Fri Apr 12th 2024, that repo was taken down (or made private by its owner ), because now any attempt to access above URL redirects to a "https://gitlab.com/users/sign_in" page (that is, after being submitted to CF-based challenge(s) ) ... I suspect one (or more) of the "affected services" has issued DMCA requests to GitLab, because the project, in the form of standalone Chromium and Firefox extensions, had met with similar fate in the past... FWIW, that filter list had an accompanying userscript: ... which also can't be updated any more ... The filter list was being served from: It and the userscript are now stuck for me at version 3.6.3.2 ... Best regards ...

I have put for some time alredy network.trr.resolvers;[{ "name": "NextDNS", "url": "https://firefox.dns.nextdns.io/" }] And as I told do not trust third party, yes your providers may leak you data, but not sure, at least it is to make an effort to do, instead you seggest deliberately leak you data directly.

  8. Yeah, I don't know, Dave, must be something in the profile because I'm running it and I don't get that page "Can't open this page" .... so I wonder what extensions you are using that seem for you to work in Supermium 122 and 260 Chrome ... I hope we can get to the bottom of this.122 is better for me, but still on my system with 3GB of RAM and a Pentium D I can't go too far with it without running into slow browsing. I've had to learn to be very patient with it.

  10. 1. Make sure you have the latest version of progwrp.dll (v1.1.0.1), the one that comes with v122 2. Looks like a pref/profile corruption to me ; something inside your previous (Sm121) profile doesn't go down well with v122 of the browser... You can always back-up your existing profile and attempt to launch Sm122 with a pristine new profile - if the fresh profile behaves normally (e.g. loads fine websites), then you'll be sure that what you're facing now isn't H/W related, but attributed to your migrated Sm profile from v121... 3. Launch your existing profile (migrated from Sm121) but, if possible, disable first ALL already installed extensions (implies you have access and control over "chrome://extensions/" ) - relaunch and check how it goes from there; if it was one of the extensions the culprit, then start enabling extensions one-by-one to find the one misbehaving in Sm122... 4. Provided you have access to "chrome://flags" in Sm122, click "Reset all" (top bar, right button) and relaunch; see how you fare... Imported bookmarks/history/saved account credentials shouldn't be affected by 3 or 4... NB: In the off-chance you have ProxHTTPSProxy configured system-wide, please disable it! Edit: 5. If you're launching Sm122 with custom cmdline flags (Windows shortcut to chrome.exe + various cmd flags), make sure you're not issuing any flag rendered incompatible with Sm122; 6. Revisit the v122 and v122-hf release notes, in case you come up with something else yourself ...

  11. First of all, I think it's right and good that someone other than myself is also working on the great and very important extension uBlock Origin Legacy and developing it further. Since nothing has happened for years, I see my efforts here in relation to uBlock Origin Legacy as a kind of initial spark to maintain this extension again and bring it up to date. Based on the way a well-known American moron speaks I would say: "Make uBlock Origin Legacy great again!" @UCyborg has started a promising project on GitHub. I already had a look at it. An indirect collaboration has already taken place, as he has used my internal list of all standard filter lists, i.e. the assets.json file, as the basis for his one. But I cannot and will not comment on direct collaboration at this point. In any case, I will continue to maintain my version here for a while. The next version is coming up very soon. This means that the user now has the option of choosing their preferred version. As I have already said between the lines, a wider range of products generally stimulates "business". 14. Tested on version 4.1.1.6758295 Baldur's Gate 3 is a game that is oficially supported by it's developers only on Windows 10. There are both Steram and GOG versions available, but I would advise against buying it on Steam since the steam client may stop working on Windows 7 at any time, while GOG game releases are DRM-free and have offline installers available so you aren't going to lose the ability to play. This game comes is two variants bg3.exe (Vulkan based) and bg3_dx11.exe (DirextX 11 based). You probably want to be using the Vulkan version as dx11 one has a broken map (and minimap) To run the Vulkan version you need a pretty recent video driver: Nvidia: for example version 471 will be fine AMD: not tested Required for patch 8 v4.1.1.6758295 : This part is for the current version v4.1.1.6758295 (this is patch8) Patch 7 v4.1.1.6072089 does not require this, Patch 6 v4.1.1.5022896 requires a different workaround, see spoiler 1. Download CFF Explorer (part of Explorer Suite) 2. Find bg3.exe and open it in CFF Explorer 3. On the left panel go to Import Directory then find PlayFabServices.Win32.dll, PlayFabCore.Win32.dll and PartyWin.dll under module name 4. Right-click and click Delete Import Descriptor for PlayFabServices.Win32.dll, PlayFabCore.Win32.dll and PartyWin.dll I think cross-platform play may not work if you remove PlayFab, but looking at it's website https://playfab.com/ this PlayFAB is likely to contain Microsoft's spyware and you may not want it anyway of you are on Windows 7 5. Save the file as bg3_win7.exe or whatever For All versions of Baldur's Gate : 6. When launching the game's exe always hold the Shift key (not needed for Windows 8.0 and 8.1) 7. Congratulations, Launch bg3.exe (I mean your modified one here) in the bin directory (don't even bother with a crappy Larian launcher)

  18. It's not a lie, it is based on the original ReactOS implementation and also on Wine D3D for the DirectX10 and 11 implementation, which is totally fine and would be 100% allowed. The problem is that by limiting it to that it wouldn't have achieved much, so it also contains proprietary Microsoft dll which have been patched (hence modified) and backported to allow Windows XP to make use of them by Samuel. He has done an amazing job in doing that and he has been working on this for several years now, however this means that once One Core API is installed, it will replace system libraries and unfortunately MSFN has a longstanding stance against linking modified Microsoft dlls which is why RyanVM was created in the first place. By the way, if you search for posts from 2019 onwards from Dibya, Peter and I you're gonna see that we all know Samuel (heck we were even in the same chat) and we're all great supporters of his work.

  20. OK, that's enough about this guys! I wasn't going to use Thorium anyway, and I've cleaned my system of all references to it. Anyway, back on topic, I will do some more tests with Supermium 122 to see if I can pin down why it doesn't want to run properly on my system It could indeed well be something in my user profile, but I hope it's something which can be fixed, as I've no intention of building the whole profile from scratch again!

  21. I've also now tried Thorium 122, and that works, albeit not using my Supermium profile. As far as I can see, it's superficially identical to Supermium as far as the GUI is concerned, just with 'Supermium' replaced with 'Thorium' in the text! Unless it's got worthwhile changes under the bonnet compared with Superium, I can see no compelling reason to use it instead of Superium. Now back with Superium 121. Can anyone report Superium 122 working for them on XP 32 bit?

  22. You are welcome. Glad to be of help! You wrongly quoted @we3fan and not me, but I know you meant to quote me, so here's my reply: Yeah, I know how boring it was having to prevent every website manually from sending you location requests. By disabling this setting (geo.enabled), you prevent ALL websites from sending you location requests.

  25. Thank you, Rob. Oh yeah, I'm a teetotal for life now too, not even a drop because I don't think I could stop at even a drop. Yeah, the vivid memories are there for me too and the days waking up in bed with my own p***, those were not good days or the best of me. Whatever awaits me (I haven't a clue) I'll just deal with it sober and only on the meds my doctor prescribes now.

  26. I'm in my 13th year of sobriety and this occurs to me all the time. I can guarantee myself though, through vivid memory that being drunk (for me) is much much worse. The demons inside that we hide come out when I drink.

  27. Hi Dave ; I thought you made a typo the previous time , but since you referenced it a second time now, it's actually Chromium 122 the latest public release of Supermium is based on ... Cheers, and many regards to the UK!

  28. Off-topic, but I still use XP because I like it! I can always go over to Windows 10 on my machine if I need to do something which I can't do in XP. Now having Supermium means that I no longer have to reboot into 10 because I have a problem with a website in 360Chrome, which is good, and I still almost can't believe that a browser based on Chromium 112 will actually run at all on XP, despite its issues! I hope to be able to continue like that for as long as possible.

  30. Think I'm just going to bed early tonight. Can't cope any further. I'll likely meditate for 15 minutes and enjoy a decaf coffee and reflect upon that good things that have occurred and be thankful I am not homeless and I have enough money to purchase diet coke every day. Yet, money is not the cause of my pain oddly enough. Good night.

  31. I don't know, I also think the word was much different only 10 years ago and whilst I may have at the time thought was was doing better that was not good because I was drunk and high all the time. Perhaps, too, when I got clean and sober in 2017 I thought everything would just go back to "Normal" but that expectation didn't occur, rather it was a rude awakening, actually and sometime I question "I got sober for *this*"???

  32. I don't know, just can't shake this feeling, I see it all the time in other people I meet in public and people just have this blank stare and empty look, I know its not just me, but I am partly to blame so I need to own up to what I know I'm causing in my own misery and accept (radical acceptance) for what I've no control over. I don't know. Think I need to just see what happens after November (get this sinking feeling) and decide whether or not I'll decide to just hide away forever and stay reclusive for the better of this remaining life - I could do it and be OK. Yeah, can't even write without screwing up so today was (yet again) 'one of those days'. Tomorrow is another day. I hope I can overlook what is going on in the world before its too late. Saddened by what I see and I wish I could go back to a time when I was thriving and actually living. I was much MUCH different and I'm not even 1/2 (not even close) to the man I once was. My plants cheer me up and coffee and toast in the morning.

  34. If you don't want such tons of toolbar buttons (I personally love this extension ), then the extension More About 3.0.0 is a good alternative. You can get it via the Classic Add-ons Archive.

  35. @dmiranda The easiest and most convenient way to add such an About Menu button to Serpent 52 is to use the Toolbar Buttons 1.1.1 extension. This extension comes with many toolbar buttons or rather tons of them. Although this extension is old, most of the toolbar buttons still work in @roytam1's browsers. One of them is the button about:about which is still working in Serpent 52. Here are two screenshots. You can download the extension Toolbar Buttons 1.1.1 via the Classic Add-ons Archive. I will write an article about this extension very soon. BTW, I already wrote about Toolbar Buttons 1.1.1 and the about:about button here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/182647-my-browser-builds-part-3/?do=findComment&comment=1225677 Greetings, AstroSkipper

  36. About: Menu - A custom button for accessing all about: pages via a toolbar menu The About: Menu custom button, created by the well-known developer LouCypher long time ago, is another useful one. It gives the user the opportunity to access any desired about: page by clicking onto the corresponding entry inside a toolbar button menu. This menu contains all entries which are listed on the about:about page, but it is more convenient to access via a toolbar button. Here is a screenshot: I only changed the tool tip text and replaced the image of the toolbar button icon by the one from the Add-ons Manager. I should mention at this point that the button does not work in Serpent 52, but in New Moon 28. Thanks to @dmiranda for reporting! I uploaded the About: Menu custom button as an HTML file for an offline installation. Here is the download link of my modded custom button About: Menu, credits, of course, to its great developer LouCypher: https://www.mediafire.com/file/o931jc1a3e7l9zj/About-_Menu_4-7-24__021410.htm/file Simply open this HTML file in a browser tab and click the embedded custom button link for About: Menu! For the installation of this button, as for all others too, the extension Custom Buttons is required and has to be installed first. You can get it from this post: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/?do=findComment&comment=1226328 Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  38. Thanks for letting us know, I updated too. About this, I've just noticed from the Event Viewer that I still have lots of crypt32 errors due to the Microsoft Certificate Updater running So I'm just gonna uninstall the Microsoft Auto Certificates Updater component given that not only it's no longer useful but it's even "harmful" in the sense that it would be throwing lots of errors for every time it tries to update the root certificates (and fails) in the background, so I invite anyone who still has this component to go "add or remove programs" -> "windows components" and remove it

  39. As far as I can remember, I got this version from the Custom Buttons Forum many years ago. This forum is no longer active and has unfortunately closed. The Custom Buttons extension was fixed on a regular base in those days due to breakages which occurred repeatedly after updating Firefox. In these days, you can get this extension either via the Classic Add-ons Archive or here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/custombuttons/files/. I personally have an huge archive of custom buttons themselves and the Custom Buttons extensions which were created in those days. However, the Custom Buttons 0.0.5.8.9.6-fixed8 version, you presumably will get only here. These fixed versions were never archived officially. I have just checked my archive of custom buttons and extensions. I found there a more recent version of the Custom Buttons extension targeting our Firefox respectively Pale Moon based browsers and installed it in a New Moon 28 testing profile. Only if the testing is positive, and all my custom buttons are working properly, I will present this version here.
