I will not continue with this project, I have outgrown it. Thank you for all your kind comments, advice, etc. My modified versions are removed - they are unsafe due to sandbox bypass, embeded videos do not work.8 points

Windows 7 Pro 64bit forever!!! I just joined this forum & am watching this thread with great interest, especially @msquidpl's posts. A browser is my one concern because browsers are major entry points for malware. However, I surf the internet while in Shadow Defender's "Shadow More" -- it's like a virtual computer -- so a permanent infection is extremely unlikely. Even so, an updated browser for Win7 would be delightful. My Plan B is Zorin Linux Pro -- it's very similar to Win7 & I am getting fairly proficient with it. Aloha to all from Hawaii... bellgamin4 points

I quite agree that no one is going to read a 76-page thread (which will soon reach 77 pages at this rate). On the other hand, replying to a thread (particularly this one) without looking at the original post only causes further unnecessary lengthening, so thanks for nothing!4 points

At the time of this writing, it also still functions in the last XP version, which is 49. (April 2016)3 points

Another new kid on the block -- me, bellgamin. Aloha from Hawaii. I have a collection of ~15 ukuleles at last count. "Uku" = flea or louse, & "lele" = jumping. Thus, I play a jumping flea -- my favorite is a Kanile'a Super Tenor. My father's ancestry was Spanish & Italian & my mother's was English & Irish. In Hawaii, my ancestry is known as "chop suey" (all mixed up). HERE's a nice Hawaiian song by a state senator & his family. .............And -- finally (finally!) here's a toast to all you folks:2 points

If you do remember, several pages back, the "discourse forum platform" breakage under UXP, it is caused by "them" (or by a web framework "they" use) implementing "??=", the nullish coalescing assignment operator (they didn't have to , their forum platform used to work fine without it ); by pure chance it seems, that "google-ism" was first implemented in Chromium 85, only one major version before 86, the basis for 360EEv13.x ... Chrome stable is now on version 110, having abandoned Win7/8.1 support; do any of you reading this consider it "unthinkable" their web devs simply devise/create a "new" JS "shiny" that will be offered with some Chrome version >11x? Judging by what has happened already, they'll then forcibly bundle it with whatever Node/React/etc. web framework the "trendy/secure" sites "du jour" employ, breaking the web for those on Ch109 who resist an OS "upgrade" to Win10/11... I can't, at this time, answer precisely what the next "Googlism" is... I'm certain, though, it's already on Google's drawing boards - after all, if Google's dev teams don't break the web (and old clients) ever so often, they'll become redundant, won't they?2 points

360EE versions 13 and 13.5 are based on Chrome 86, and MiniBrowser on Chrome 87. Those should work at least until Spectrum gets around to implementing Googlisms even newer than those Chrome versions. After that, all bets are off - Serpent / New Moon may once again become the preferred choice, at least as long as they're being maintained. 360EE is more "advanced" at the moment, but it doesn't seem likely we'll ever see newer Chrome versions backported to XP.2 points

Only x64 builds at the moment, I take it? Good to know this is out there Hopefully I can use it eventually on Vista Home Basic UPDATE: This requires Vista Extended Kernel, so it's of no use to and x86 Vista installation2 points

Immune System Complete Guide: This Is How Your Body Keeps out Bacteria and Viruses (Infographics) Andrew Lee Feb 19 2023 How does the body's immune system fight viruses and bacteria? What factors affect immunity? The complete guide to the mysteries of the immune system. (The Epoch Times) 0:009:48 1 There is an increasing number of infectious diseases circulating around the world, from influenza to SARS to COVID-19. Your immune system plays a key role in fighting off these infectious diseases. So how does the immune system work to fight viruses and bacteria? What factors affect your immunity? This article will answer all your questions with diagrams. The human immune system is quite sophisticated, with various immune cellsinvolved. Their role in the body is like that of an army, resisting the invasion of foreign pathogens and defending the body’s health. Pathogens refer to agents that can cause various diseases after entering the body, including viruses, bacteria, molds, parasites, etc. The First Immune Barrier: The Skin and Nose Keep Viruses Out The immune system’s first barrier includes skin, nose hair, tears, etc. These are excellent physical barriers that can keep pathogens out of the body. If the body is a country, then the first barrier could be considered its “defensive wall.” MORE: https://www.theepochtimes.com/health/immune-system-complete-guide-this-is-how-your-body-keeps-out-bacteria-and-viruses-infographics_5051885.html - BLOCK the SCRIPTS to be able to read the Epoch Times...1 point

... Well, I couldn't reproduce with my Serpent 52.9.0 copy: ... i.e. I got the short-haired, young lady with spectacles ... And to avoid any chance of a possible misunderstanding, I'm not posting this to dismiss your claim, rather that for me, it was not the case ... Either it's a random thing or the algorithm they employ worked differently in my case vs yours ... Anyhow, I agree with you: "Variety" is the best thing, not sex-based stereotypes (oops , bait for OT posts here, apologies ) ...1 point

In defense of @NotHereToPlayGames, I think he meant if there is anything useful in this thread that isn't in the list in the first post, it is likely to be missed, eg. Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3, which I brought up years ago. Though this program is EOL since, so it cannot be run on any OS unless you have it activated since activation server was online or you're in possession of a bypass for its licensing system (or are willing to figure it out on your own), which cannot be discussed here.1 point

Try License Crawler, it will find ALL keys in the system. Your key should be embedded in the BIOS. http://www.klinzmann.name/licensecrawler_download.htm1 point

Sal, I have already told you this: your Achilles' heel is "politics" and "meditation". Until you change your thoughts about "politics", I advise you never to talk to people about politics... Then don't talk about "meditation" either - it doesn't seem very intelligent for such an intelligent man. I am sorry to speak so directly about these problems, but in fact you have to take this seriously now. It's to make you understand the reasons why people "run like hell" from you...1 point

I have a hunch that you are trying with MSE 4.5. Yes 4.5 could be installed on XP, but it was also the first version with a time bomb! You may have found a download that was hacked so that the UI wouldn’t nag about EOL (which was possible with 4.5), but the time bomb was still there. The service probably wasn’t even running. If you want to waste more time, waste it with MSE 4.4.304.0 please.1 point

I am still working on editing the list and keeping it up to date. While Windows Vista Extended Kernel has made the list somewhat obsolete, not everyone wants to or can use the extended kernel (namely x86 users). I just haven’t been able to keep up with it lately due to things happening in my personal life, but I’m going to try to resume working on it soon. Unless you have contributions of your own, you can keep your disrespectful comments to yourself I’ve poured a lot of blood, sweat & tears into this list since 2016, and I think it’s one of the best resources for Windows Vista users today. To anyone who wants to know if an application is already listed, press Ctrl+F in your browser and search for the application name.1 point

Adding to @VistaLover's thoughts on off-topic, sometimes there are posts that are related in a way to the browsers, eg. extensions' specifics, which would probably be better off in separate topic for organization's sake. But I get it's convenient to just post here. By the way, YouTube still functions in vanilla Chromium 55, this version is from December 2016, at least as far as playback goes. The reason for me pointing out this particular version is that I simply had that version installed on the laptop with the old Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installation, which I haven't used in a long time.1 point

I don't use any AV, but I sometimes run some free online scanner. If you are careful with what and from where you download and use some free web-based email with built-in antivirus you should be quite safe. Also make sure your OS is fully updated at all times. Spyware/adware/malware and similar are a lot more common than viruses these days. Symantec AV is much too demanding and bloated, I will probably try NOD32 some time.1 point
