  3. Guys, how hard can you make this? Facebook will nag you if it sees you're running FF 45. I recommend going into about:config, creating a new string preference called general.useragent.override.facebook.com, and setting it to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0. @roytam1's FF 45 builds support SSUAOs of this kind, so this will tell Facebook you're running FF 57 on Win 7, and it won't nag you anymore. No need to install any browser add-ons. Please don't do this! It's not required and will only disable the above setting, ensuring you get nagged by FB to update your browser. As explained earlier, FF 45 doesn't have built-in support for h.264 video. You need to add something.... Since those browsers run on your PC, you have an sse2 processor; therefore, you could install the Adobe Primetime CDM using the instructions at the first post of @mixit's thread. I've confirmed that Primetime works with @roytam1's FF 45 builds. However, most FF 45 users probably don't have sse2 processors. Those users should instead download the @roytam1 LAV filters for their architecture (links are in the first post of his original thread), and unpack them into the same folder as firefox.exe. Either method will let FF 45 play videos. I believe other possible methods (e.g., Flash, Silverlight) are no longer supported by FB, but I may be wrong about that.

  4. Hi Guys! When I mean official I mean I am making it official that I think it is the worst ever... While I can understand that Microsoft want a OS that works on all platforms - they fail to recognise the genuine complaints of long term users! Computers are getting more powerful every day, screens are getting larger and more advanced. and yet we are given a OS that is basically designed for a telephone screen. What happened to nice gradient colours etc? It is so **** boring? Your general users do not care what improvements are made to the engine...they want it to look and feel good as well! A telephone is a telephone in my opinion and I want an OS that looks good on the ever increasing sizes of desktop screens! The start menu is a mess! Once again nothing is logical about the setup of things.... If this is the best they can come up with I will keep one computer as Windows for my customers and then the others as Linux.

  6. Sadly, this came too late, but please try it. It's based on the same AMDXHC driver for Windows XP, but this required just a device check patch. Included are both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) drivers, plus the "switch" driver. - The AMDXHC driver is safe to use and easily installed. - Supports all Intel USB 3.1 XHCI controllers (7, 8, 9, 100, 200 and 300 series, maybe even HEDT chipsets). - "Switch" driver may be needed if you don't get USB3 speeds on Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell (*) systems (7, 8 and 9 series chipsets). To use this, I'd recommend a backup. Open Device Manager -> System Devices -> PCI Bus Update driver -> Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer Have Disk -> open the folder containing the HCSwitch driver files PCI Bus will be displayed, continue the installation. When finished, just restart Vista. (*) Haswell should work with Vista 32-bit (x86) only. http://www.mediafire.com/file/1kjhhl0fq1ofc2m The original Intel XHCI driver can be modded to work on Vista, but as this one works so fine, I don't have any plans to do it.

  8. Well, the subroutines I write don't generate errors , as said it is a case of writing style. Anyway, the ENDLOCAL is unneeded (there are very few cases when you need to NOT run the whole batch "LOCAL" and thus you need to exit the mode). The subroutine about MATCHED quotes is not relevant speaking of Paths. A path is EITHER enclosed in quotes OR it is not (you can't have a quote or any matched couple of quotes in a path), SO you can strip ALL quotes and reenclose the path in quotes (and this covers BOTH matched and UNmatched quotes) i.e.: @ECHO OFF SETLOCAL ENABLEEXTENSIONS ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION SET _Dir=%* :: _Dir may be enclosed in quotes, or simply contain one or more quotes CALL :validate_dir _Dir SET _Dir GOTO :EOF :validate_dir ::make sure it contains no quotes SET %1=!%1:^"=! :: make sure it ends with backslash SET %1=!%1!\ ::make sure it ends with only one backslash and enclose it in double quotes SET %1="!%1:\\=\!" GOTO :EOF It is much simpler (as it does a much simpler transformation). jaclaz

  10. You were asking about a PROXY SERVER related FF Browser Extension (LEGACY). RT has one residing with his BNAV Browser, located here: https://o.rths.ml/boc-uxp/ File Name = foxyproxy_standard-4.6.5-pm.xpi BNAV Browser (RT) does NOT have PROXY SERVER user defined settings. So, the FOXYPROXY Extension (LEGACY) does address that situation. Anyway, I figure no harm in mentioning it here. Added: BNAV Browser is ENGLISH Only, no Language Pack support.

  13. Unfortunately, the switch drivers do not work for me. After installing it, my USB 3.0 ports simply don't work, and attempting to install the AMDXHC driver gives me an error: "Code 10: the device cannot start." I'm using an ASUS P8B75-M motherboard.

  14. During the first installation, you must disable the option "Basic settings (for initial installation)". Then Google, YouTube and other multilingual sites will be displayed in the system language. But then many settings (search, start page, browser settings) will be such as in the Chinese version.

  17. While there's no doubt the ESET v12.2.30.0 range of products had been officially released on Oct 2nd 2019, as per @Vistapocalypse's link above, the second link of his only gives access to 64-bit builds (under the "Early Access" category, submitted on Sep 27th 2019 ). OTOH, the official ESET support site, when searched for older versions of ESET products, https://support.eset.com/en/download-and-install-eset-offline-or-install-older-versions-of-eset-products lists as latest v12 version the 12.2.23.0 one, where indeed an official download link for the 32-bit flavour is present: E.g. the direct link for the Antivirus product is The plot thickens by the fact the downloaded installers don't display a v12 file version, but a v10 one (!), e.g. file eav_nt32.exe from above link is of version 10.9.73.0 (a fine mess, if you ask me...); so, if anyone has official (/unofficial?) links to the 32-bit setups of ESET v12.2.30.0 products, do share!
