  1. I can confirm the issues with iTunes Store when attempting to sign in; I get the same errors described in this post. However I can still view the contents of the Store, but that's pretty much useless since I can't purchase/download anything. I have updated the list to reflect this new information: As always, thanks so much to everyone for the additions to the list while I've been away, and sorry for taking so long to finally get around to updating it. With that said, here's the Summary of Changes this time: SUMMARY OF CHANGES TO THE LIST FOR OCTOBER 24, 2019: Added Viber 6.8.2.878 as last version for Vista to "Instant Messaging" section. Updated Autodesk 3dsmax 2012, Autodesk Maya 2012, & Autodesk Mudbox 2012 to their 2016 versions as last unofficially supported versions for Vista in "2D/3D Modeling software" section. Updated Blender to UNS status. Added VMware Tools 10.3.10 as last version for Vista to "Virtualization software" section. Added calibre 3.48 as last version for Vista to "File Management" section. Updated information about iTunes Store: While you still may access the store, signing in no longer works. Added OpenGL Extensions Viewer to "Hardware Identification & Temperature Management" section. Updated information about GTA V in "Games" -> "Active Development" section: Now requires a workaround for new versions as of Sept. 2019.

  2. You know, I once suggested to make dedicated sub-board on members projects, you might bump my topic

  3. Users of these browsers may now discover that Help / Submit Feedback... now leads to the just-closed thread, making it tough to, uh, submit feedback... I'll do pull requests to fix this issue soon. In the meantime, if this happens to you, you can go to about:config and change pref app.feedback.baseURL to https://msfn.org/board/topic/180462-my-browser-builds-part-2/?do=getNewComment.

  4. This would be the perfect opportunity now. Have no own opinion about sub-boards, but what's absolutely important is to split up this giant whirlpool into separate topics. @roytam1 Please consider! At the very least please separate topics for native Win2000 browsers (like PM26, KMG74), and native Win98 browsers (like Fx36, retrozilla). And perhaps another for the more exotic builds, but not my area. (PS: and rename here to "My browser builds" 8) After a split, perhaps "My browser builds for XP"?)

  5. FAQ: Q: Having audio distorted when watching Twitter/etc.? A: Please try turning on "Firefox compatibility" in options dialog or either "general.useragent.compatMode = 2" or "general.useragent.compatMode.firefox = true" in about:config and reload the page. Q: Can't play H264 clips? (for PM27/KM76/FF45) A: Download following packages for your browser edition(32bit/64bit) and extract DLLs to same place as palemoon.exe lives. 32bit LAV dlls are in separated package (extracted from K-Lite codec pack 13.5.5) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav.7z Just in case if you have an older processor which has no SSE instruction set support: 32bit NoSSE (ffmpeg 3.1.1 lite build) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-mmx.7z 32bit No ASM (ffmpeg 3.1.1 lite build, if build above doesn't work on your processor) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav-dll-lite-noasm.7z 64bit LAV dlls are in separated package (LAV Filters 64bit 0.70.2) https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/lav64.7z Q: AV1 Support? (for UXP-based applications except mailnews) A: You need to enable "media.av1.enabled" in about:config Q: VP9 Support? (for PM27) A: VP9 works if async MSE option is unchecked and "Enable MSE for WebM Video" checked in options. Q: Extensions/Themes not working after updating binaries. A: If you encounter extensions not show icon, clicking options button of extension causing browser unresponsive, etc. please try following actions: 1.a Killing palemoon.exe process 1.b Copy whole extensions folder out of profile folder (to somewhere else for example, desktop) 1.c Restart browser without restoring previous sessions 1.d Goto about:addons page 1.e Drop XPI files from the copied-out extensions folder to about:addonss page One-by-One. 1.f After all XPI files are dropped and installed/updated, restart browser Q: Virus detected? A: Tell your anti-virus program to exclude palemoon.exe and/or plugin-container.exe. Some anti-virus heuristic engines (for example symantec's sonar engine) is too sensitive to palemoon.exe/plugin-container.exe network activities. Q: Where's your patches for compiling my own? A: Please visit the link above "FAQ:". Latest source patch files are named "sources_patches_YYYYMMDD.7z" in that page. Q: basilisk browser showing basic pages in GMail? A: set these to "ture" in about:config general.useragent.compatMode.firefox general.useragent.compatMode.gecko Q: Should I let official Pale Moon and "New Moon" both using same profile (at the same time / alternatively)? A: it is not recommend to do that, as they have different NSS security library, which has different encryption procedure to the saved password database. Same profile being "touched" by different gecko/goanna applications may cause unexpected behaviors. If you want to launch both Pale Moon and "New Moon" / Basilisk and "Serpent" / etc. at the same time, one of them should be in "--no-remote" portable mode. Q: How to change User Interface language? A: Please see this post: Q: Portable Loader? A: You can always use official portable launcher with my binaries, or you can use my simple portable loader written in NSIS: Q: How to install extensions/themes in BNavigator browser? A: Please check this post out: (EDIT: you may need to change minVersion to 0.9.0a1 as upstream changed version to a lower value after this guide existed) Q: I want to verify if archive is not changed by others! A: from 30 October 2019, new archives will have ".asc" GPG detached signature. You can download signature separately by appending ".asc" (without quotation marks) after the archive URL. You can get my public key by following instructions in this post: Q: I'm getting 0xC000001D error when starting Serpent/UXP-ia32 browser! A: your processor does not support CMOV instruction. VC2015 IA32 build requires CMOV instruction support. here is a list of processors with CMOV instruction support: - Intel: Pentium Pro or later - AMD: K7 (original Athlon/Duron) or later - VIA: C7 or later - Transmeta: all CPUs are capable to run sp52-ia32. - Cyrix/IBM: 6x86MX or later, MediaGXm(MediaGX-S) or later - National Semiconductor/AMD: Geode GX or later - DM&P/Vortex86: Vortex86DX3 or later Q: I need WebAssembly support! A: for NM28/SP52, go to about:config and enable javascript.options.wasm

  6. In my collegiate and professional experience, the math that is taught is not necessarily required. It highly depends on what job you'll end up taking up after getting out of college. However, the school has no control over where a person may end up. I believe that the emphasis that is put upon math, at least in the way that it is taught, does not line up with the real world even when I had gone. There is no reason why a student should need to have to memorize formulas, or have to take a test without a calculator, penalize people for ditching fractions and/or using a brand of calculator other than Texas Instruments. Then again, you have to also remember that the math courses you are taking in college are not specific to your major. They are general purposes courses that people from multiple majors can take. Those who end up in math heavy professions will gain more from those classes than those who do not. I can only speak for the college that I had gone to, but their CS courses did not include the digital logic courses and labs that were part of the electronics majors. While I ended up going to college for something I ended up not doing professionally, those digital logic courses helped me way more in my programming life than any of the math courses.

  7. Thanks for the info, yet from the snapshot image I see this is another "cloud" bookmark service, not to be invoked from the app menu.

  8. A word of caution to anyone running Vista on a VMware virtual machine - VMware Tools version 11.0.0 comes with an user mode OpenGL driver that expects K32EnumProcessModulesEx in kernel32.dll, which only exists on Windows 7+, thus one may unexpectedly get an error about the missing function when trying to run an OpenGL application, then application reporting it was unable to find an accelerated OpenGL driver or failing in some other way. The last compatible VMware Tools version is 10.3.10. This should be reported as it seems like an oversight rather than intentional breakage, plus the function is actually supported on Vista, just resides in a different DLL, so it would be trivial to fix.

  9. I have discovered that the 2016 versions of 3dsMax, Maya and Mudbox work on Windows Vista by editing the MSI installer using Orca. What you have to do is navigate to C:\Autodesk and into your 2016 versions of either 3dsMax, Maya or Mudbox. Then, enter into the folder of either x86 or x64 (depends on you Windows architecture version) and into the folder named after the program you want to install. In my case it is "max". Right click on "3dsMax.msi" and click "Edit with Orca". Finally, scroll down to "LaunchCondition", then right-click and click drop table. Save, close and proceed to install the program. I recommend that you have Vista completely up to date with Service packs, Platform updates and .NET. Orca download = https://www.technipages.com/downloads/OrcaMSI.zip

  12. OT: while using win7 x64, I found win7's image viewer is unsatisfied for my usage, found a XP/2003 image viewer wrapper with source code, forked it and made 64bit build. original source: https://habr.com/en/post/437436/ my fork with 64bit build: https://github.com/roytam1/shimgvw-wrapper/releases/tag/r191003 (actually 2003's shimgvw.dll is better on displaying GIF images than XP's one)

  13. OpenGL Extensions Viewer is a small utility that examines your system's GPU for OpenGL related features (or absence of... ) ; the latest release is v5.3.4 (2019-07-29). According to vendor's site : I did download the win32 setup (glview534.exe) and proceeded with the installation; it turns out the app has NO issues launching and successfully running here (Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit, .NET FW 4.6.1): (Thanks to @jaclaz for mentioning this in a Win7 subforum thread... )

  14. Hi everyone, So today rockstar released a new launcher for their games. Including my favorite GTA V. There's small catch. It no longer supports Vista. I have found a bypass, but I'm not sure for how long this is going to work. You need to uninstall the new launcher. Grab the old one (Vista saves folders history maybe you can find it there in "Installers" folder) and install it. Now you need to delete "PlayGTAV.exe". Copy "GTAVLauncher" to your desktop and name it "PlayGTAV.exe" and put it to your gta v folder. That's it. I have tried it only on steam version so i have no idea if this is going to work on dvd version. Cheers

  15. Windows 2000 “Update Rollup” was always such an oddity. Just what did they have in mind? Someone obviously thought the idea would go somewhere or other (Update Rollup 2?) but the concept apparently never took off. We know the rest, and what a turnaround: no more service packs for W2K Pro, not even a final Service Pack. At least there were some cumulative updates released later. They short-changed XP on service packs as well, as their longer-term strategy took shape: don’t compete with alternative operating systems, get rid of them. So far they’ve more or less cut off both support and hardware (we here being a little less “cut off” than most computer users, buyers and builders, because of what we know). Going forward (if you can call it that) the creep clearly intends to cut off installation of anything other than the Rolling Nightmare it calls Windows 10, which frankly looks to me like one long, evolving Service Pack to nowhere. I’d rather fight than switch.
